Brief introduction of No. 1 Middle School in Pingyin County
Pingyin County No. 1 Middle School is located at No. 73 Cuiping Street, Pingyin County, Jinan City. Founded in 1954, it is the first ordinary middle school in the history of Pingyin County and a provincial standardized school.
The name of Pingyin was first seen in Zuo Zhuan, which got its name because it was located in the Yin of the ancient east. The history of its civilization can be traced back to Beixin culture six or seven thousand years ago, and it is "the hometown of Pingyin roses in China". After liberation, the broad masses of people in Pingyin County were liberated politically and economically, at the same time, they urgently demanded to improve the level of culture and education. The party and the government pay close attention to education, and the speed of primary school recovery to development is very fast. Primary school graduates leave the county to go to secondary schools in other places (Changqing, Jinan, Liaocheng, Taian, etc.), which can no longer meet the needs of the development of the situation, nor can they meet the needs of the masses. With the approval of the provincial people's government, it has invested in the construction of "Shandong Pingyin Middle School".
The course of development
When the school was built, the northwest ditch of the school was connected with the Post and Telecommunications Bureau and the Public Security Bureau, and the rest of the school was farmland. With the development of urban construction, the urban area has expanded, and surrounding residents, organs, shops and factories have been built one after another. At present, the school has changed from a secluded corner of the city to a downtown center. At that time, it was planned to cover an area of 74704 square meters, but the actual area was 54902 square meters. Now the school is bordered by Wuling Road to the east, Cuiping Street to the south, the commercial system dormitory area to the west, and the commercial street to the north. The front of the school is the teaching area and the back is the staff dormitory area.
Construction broke ground in the early spring of 1954, and the first phase of the project was basically completed in September, when 224 students from four classes in the first junior high school were recruited. In 1956, the province and prefecture decided to build "Pingyin No.2 Middle School" in Donga Town, and the school was named "Pingyin No.1 Middle School in Shandong Province". In 1958, the provincial people's government decided to increase the number of senior high school classes, enrolling two classes at each level. A complete middle school with a size of 18 classes. At the same time, there are 2 normal classes. The division was adjusted, Tai'an area was withdrawn, Pingyin was assigned to Liaocheng area, and the school was changed to "Dongping Pingyin Middle School in Shandong Province". In October 1959, Pingyin was transferred to Jinan. In December, four normal classes of Dongping Wangtai Middle School were merged into the school, and the school resumed "Shandong Pingyin No.1 Middle School". In the spring of 1960, Pingyin was assigned to Heze area, and the normal class was transferred to Pingyin normal School in the second half of the year. In the second half of 1961, Taian area was restored, Pingyin was assigned to Taian area, Pingyin normal School was abolished in 1962, and the Provincial Department of Education wrote, and the normal school property was assigned to Pingyin No.1 Middle School. The scale of the ordinary middle school was specified in 1963, and Pingyin No.1 Middle School was determined to be a complete middle school with 18 teaching classes (12 classes in junior middle school and 6 classes in senior high school). And designated as a key middle school.
On June 17, 1966, the fire of the "Cultural Revolution" was ignited in No. 1 Middle School. Ten years of turmoil brought serious disasters and caused serious losses to No. 1 Middle School. In 1968, under the whip of "Hou Wang's proposal" (abbreviated by two comrades in a certain city), the industrial propaganda team "mobilized" teachers to return to their places of origin, but failed due to the strong opposition of teachers. In 1969, cadres at and above the director level were transferred from the branch campus, and a few returned to their places of origin. A group of primary school teachers were transferred to No. 1 Middle School, and the school was changed to "Chengguan Middle School in Pingyin County".
In the early days of the Cultural Revolution, the bearing factory moved from other places to Pingyin, occupying the site of the county agricultural equipment factory. In 1969, the Revolutionary Committee of Pingyin County determined that the county agricultural tools factory occupied a Central East Hospital (the site of the former normal school).
A teacher training class was set up in 1969 and handed over to the newly established Pingyin normal School in 1972. In 1974, the name of "No. 1 Middle School in Pingyin County, Shandong Province" was restored.
In 1976, the Gang of four was smashed, ten years of turmoil ended, the educational front rectified the chaos and overturned the two "estimates." the school gained new students, and through rectification and adjustment, normal order was gradually restored. It was re-designated as a key middle school in 1978. After the third Plenary session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, the school conscientiously implemented the party's principles and policies, and the focus of its work gradually shifted to the track of teaching, with all-round moral, intellectual and physical development, continuous improvement in the quality of education, and new changes in the appearance of the school. Since the 12th CPC National Congress, all the work of the school has embarked on the journey of creating a new situation.
With the institutional reform in 1984, the leading bodies became revolutionary, knowledgeable, professional and younger.
In 1985, Pingyin was assigned to Jinan. By the 35th school celebration in 1989, it had developed into a complete middle school with 24 classes (including 6 junior high school classes and 18 senior high school classes). A large-scale renovation of school buildings was carried out in 1991.
At the beginning of 1994, the central part was assigned to the newly established Pingyin No. 4 Middle School. In 1998, a comprehensive teaching building of more than 10,000 square meters was built, and the enrollment scale reached 36 classes.
Over the past 50 years, under the correct leadership of the party committee and the government at a higher level, and with the strong support of the people of the county, through the efforts of previous school leading bodies and staff, 6856 junior high school graduates, 15505 high school graduates and 579 normal school graduates (including 110teacher training students) have been trained for the society. 5779 senior high school students have been admitted by colleges and universities, and the level of running a school and the quality of teaching have been improved year by year. In the past ten years, the school has successively won the honorary titles of advanced unit of mental health education in primary and secondary schools across the country, advanced unit of provincial teaching and education, advanced unit of democratic management of provincial school, provincial garden-style unit, advanced unit of provincial health, and advanced unit of provincial mass sports. The campus covers an area of 88 acres, covering an area of nearly 60,000 square meters, with reasonable zoning, scientific planning, flowers in three seasons, evergreen in four seasons, sculptures, steles and cultural corridors, forming an elegant and fresh natural environment and rich cultural atmosphere. The total construction area of the school building is 34000 square meters. The comprehensive teaching building, office building and library science and education building have both national and European and American architectural styles, with novel design and complete functions.
The technical means of education and teaching have been gradually standardized and modernized, and a campus network connected to the Internet has been opened. Each teacher is equipped with a microcomputer and each student in the computer class has a computer. There are closed-circuit television control center, electronic reading room, courseware production center, studio, multimedia room, liquid crystal projector, video showcase into the classroom.
Pingyin No. 1 Middle School has accumulated and tempered for half a century, has profound cultural heritage, and has accumulated rich experience in education and teaching management. Among the existing full-time teachers, 27 have master's degrees or take part in postgraduate studies, 17 have participated in the training of backbone teachers above the provincial level, and 11 have participated in the municipal "double hundred Project" training (among them: 4 English teachers have gone to Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom for training).
