临清一中创建于1942年3 月,原名抗日卫东中学,学校几经易名更址,经历了抗日战争时期的抗日卫东中学,解放战争时期的冀南一中,新中国建设时期的河北省立临清中学、山东省临清中学、临清市第一中学等。

临清一中现为聊城市首批省级规范化学校,聊城市重点高级中学。学校现有教职工310人,在校生2600余人。

学校荣获中国楹联教育基地、教育科学重点研究课题《尝试教学理论研究与实践》全国示范实验学校、全国中学生物理奥林匹克竞赛金牌学校、山东省规范化学校、山东省教学示范学校、 山东省艺术教育示范学校、中国人民解放军空军飞行员优秀生源学校、山东省民航飞行员优秀生源基地、山东省心理健康教育先进单位、山东省国防教育先进单位、聊城市高中教育教学改革先进学校、聊城市教育系统先进集体等称号。

近年来,临清一中的办学条件有了显著的改善,信息化水平迅速提高。建设了高标准的教学楼和塑胶跑道操场,教室内安装了多媒体辅助教学设备、电视机、高考听力系统、监控系统、电子白板等,实验室、微机教室、音美书教室、图书室、师生阅览室等均达到了省内一流水平,建有临清一中网站和临清一中校园信息网。

完善了三级督导管理制度。学习先进管理经验,创新学校管理模式,实施“三级督导”管理体制,将各项工作落实到底。实施流程化管理,提高了工作的执行力,带动了良好的学风、教风、班风、校风的形成。

多措并举建设高效课堂。深入落实新课程理念,创新课堂教学模式,大力推广“目标尝试”教学,制定了《临清一中高效课堂教学模式》;全面推行“学案导学 ”, 落实了《临清一中学生高效学习十条》,提高课堂教学效率,使高效课堂常态化。

开设了丰富的课程资源,课程建设硕果累累。学校开发开设四十余种校本课程供学生选修,把奥赛内容列入校本课程,新课程的开设丰富了课程资源,开阔了学生视野,结出丰硕果实,2012年三名学生因为奥赛成绩突出被保送到北京大学、中国科学技术大学、复旦大学等。

拓宽了德育途径。实行学生“自主学习、自主管理、自我教育”的“三自”活动,开展“主题教育月”活动,以活动促规范,以活动促德育,德育工作扎实有效, “给学生一个舞台,他会还你一片蓝天”。
