A brief introduction to Hubei Tourism School
Hubei Tourism School, founded in 1979, is one of the four earliest tourism technical secondary schools supported by the National Tourism Administration. It is a key secondary professional school at the provincial and ministerial level. It is also the earliest, largest and first-class provincial tourism school in the province, directly under the leadership of Hubei Provincial Tourism Bureau. In 1999, it was approved by the Provincial people's Government as the Wuchang campus of the Vocational and Technical College of Hubei University, which integrates secondary and higher vocational education. At present, there are nearly 3000 students in universities and technical secondary schools, and the graduates are very popular and are known as "the cradle of training professionals in star hotels, travel agencies and tourism management departments". The school is located in Xiongchu Street on the shore of the South Lake, with a beautiful environment of tourist attractions and hotel atmosphere and complete facilities, and has been rated as "excellent School of Campus Management" by the Provincial Department of Education.
The school insists on running a school with characteristics. According to the characteristics of the tourism industry, the school has set the characteristic goal of training "practical talents with high moral realm, strong foreign language level, excellent service technology, good health and beautiful image, and are deeply welcomed by the tourism market". The school is based on the characteristic goal, multi-form and multi-specification to train urgently needed tourism talents for the society. Not only the three-year technical secondary school specialty has been set up, but also the new three-year higher vocational college major and the five-year "3-year 2" segmented higher vocational college major have been set up. The school is based on the goal of building characteristic teachers.
The existing configuration of more than 100 professional teachers covers five higher vocational colleges, including hotel management, tour guide, tourism English, tourism e-commerce, tourism planning and development, and eight technical secondary schools, such as hotel service and management, tour guide, foreign-related finance and accounting, tourism public relations secretary, tourism English, tourism Japanese, civil aviation service, cooking and so on. The school stipulates that teachers have "bilingual" and "double-qualified", that is, the foreign language of professional teachers and the specialization of foreign language teachers; they not only have middle and senior professional titles, but also have advanced technical certificates in the industry. At the same time, teachers are encouraged to pursue higher degrees in their majors. In addition to more than a dozen master's degree students, returned students and four American and Japanese foreign language teachers, 40% of the teachers are studying for master's degrees and going abroad for further studies. The school implements the characteristic teaching based on the characteristic goal, pays attention to the foreign language teaching, pays attention to the practical teaching. On the basis of learning this major well, students are allowed to take other professional courses and train compound talents. For technical secondary school and higher vocational college students, those with excellent results can continue their further studies and will obtain junior college and undergraduate diplomas respectively; students are required to reach CET-3 or above and have the ability to speak a foreign language served by five-star hotels; students are required to focus on one-year internship in four-and five-star hotels and travel agencies, and obtain certificates such as English, computer grade certificate, tour guide certificate, service certificate and so on. In recent years, the students of the school have ranked among the best in the tourism vocational skills competitions held by the whole country, the whole province and Wuhan. Previous graduates have been hired by tourism enterprises inside and outside the province, and many of them have become the backbone of their units.
