广东工商职业学院是在2004年经广东省人民政府批准成立、国家教育部备案的全日制普通高等院校,2009年顺利通过广东省高职院校人才培养工作评估。

办学十九年来,学院主动适应区域经济社会发展需要,已形成了工科与管理双轮驱动,工、管、文、艺协调发展的专业结构。现有机电工程系、建筑工程系、计算机应用技术系、经济管理系、工商管理系、财会系、应用外语系、艺术设计系、公共教学部和思政教学部共8系2部,开设44个专业(方向);全日制在校生11000多人;现有专任教师540多人,专任教师中研究生学历的占37.2%,副高以上职称的占31.3%。毕业生总体就业率都在全省同类院校前列。

学院占地面积1,200多亩,校园总建筑面积32多万平方米,实训及实习场所面积11万多平方米,教学科研仪器设备总值6846.9万元,图书总数为111.3万册,中外文期刊1100多种。教学用计算机3480台,多媒体座位和语音室座位合计达10000多个。

学院坚持政、校、企协同创新、服务经济新常态的办学理念,实行“一园一链”发展战略,在大旺校区与肇庆国家高新区、长春理工大学及相关企业合作创建“长春理工大学国家大学科技园肇庆分园”,共建技术创新和企业孵化平台;在星湖校区采取政府环境、企业项目、学校搭台、教师指导、学生实操的运行机制发展电子商务链,为区域主导产业服务,培养学生创业能力。

学院的办学目标是打造培养未来中小企业家的摇篮,构建文化素质、专业知识、职业技能、创业教育于一体的课程体系,按照校企融合育人、工学紧密结合的培养模式;专业教学选派“双师型”教师,学生实行“双证书”提高就业能力;开设“百名教授专家系列讲座”、“百名企业家系列讲座”,领略名师名人风范,激发学生学习热情;引进清华科技园素质拓展训练项目,培养学生团队合作意识和励志成功意识;大力支持学生社团活动,搭建大学生创业教学、创业培训、创业孵化三级平台,培养学生创业意识、创业精神和创业能力。

学院先后被教育部科教所和省教育厅等主管部门评为“中国最佳工商类大学”、“中国最具前景的大学”、“改革开放30年中国十大品牌高等职业院校”、“全国普通高等学校毕业生预征工作先进集体”、首批“广东省大学生创新创业示范学校”、“广东省教育系统创先争优先进基层党组织”、“共青团广东省委五四红旗委员”、“广东省高校校园文化建设优秀成果”三等奖、“广东省肇庆职教基地建设先进单位”。

Over the past 19 years, the college has taken the initiative to meet the needs of regional economic and social development, and has formed a professional structure of two-wheel drive of engineering and management, and coordinated development of engineering, management, culture and art. At present, there are 8 departments and 2 departments in the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Architectural Engineering, the Department of computer Applied Technology, the Department of Economic Management, the Department of Business Administration, the Department of Finance and Accounting, the Department of Applied Foreign languages, the Department of Art and Design, the Department of Public Teaching and the Department of ideological and political teaching. there are more than 11000 full-time students, with 31.2% of full-time teachers with postgraduate degrees and 31.3% of them. The college covers an area of more than 1200 mu, with a total campus construction area of more than 320,000 square meters, an area of more than 110000 square meters for training and practice, a total value of 68.469 million yuan for teaching and scientific research equipment, a total of 1.113 million books and more than 1100 kinds of Chinese and foreign periodicals. There are 3480 computers for teaching, with a total of more than 10000 multimedia seats and language lab seats.

The college adheres to the school-running concept of collaborative innovation among government, school, and enterprises and serves the new normal of economy, and implements the development strategy of "one park, one chain". In Dawang campus, it cooperates with Zhaoqing National High-tech Zone, Changchun University of Technology and related enterprises to create "Zhaoqing Branch Park of National University of Science and Technology of Changchun University of Science and Technology", and jointly build technological innovation and enterprise incubation platform. In Xinghu campus, we adopt the operating mechanism of government environment, enterprise projects, school setting up, teacher guidance and students' practical operation to develop e-commerce chain to serve the regional leading industries and cultivate students' entrepreneurial ability.

The goal of the college is to create a cradle for training future small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, to build a curriculum system of cultural quality, professional knowledge, vocational skills and entrepreneurship education, according to the training mode of the integration of schools and enterprises and the close combination of work and learning. professional teaching to select "double-qualified" teachers, students to implement "double certificates" to improve employability Set up a series of lectures for 100 professors and experts and a series of lectures for 100 entrepreneurs to appreciate the famous teachers' celebrity demeanor and stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning; introduce the quality development training program of Tsinghua Science and Technology Park to cultivate students' sense of teamwork and inspirational success.
