Sanming College is a provincial undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education in May 2004, which implements the provincial and municipal co-construction and city-based management system, and passed the qualification evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education in June 2012. The school, formerly known as Sanming higher College, was formed by the merger of Sanming normal College, Sanming Vocational University and Sanming normal School in October 2000. the history of running a school can be traced back to the all-Fujian normal School founded by Chen Baochen in 1903.
