苏州市吴中区东山中学简介

苏州市吴中区东山中学始创于1937年9月，至今已有六十多年的历史。是一所具有75多年历史的老中学,现已是江苏省三星级高级中学,教育教学设施先进,有完善的校园网络、多媒体教室等一流的现代化设备,拥有400米正规田径运动场。

学校历史

1937年8月，日寇侵略上海，在沪学生纷纷失学逃至东山避乱，为使该批青年继续就学，于是，本山人于9月初借叶氏祠堂开办了“莫厘补习中学”。至1937年12月日寇占领东山，学校随即停办。

1946年3月，“洞庭旅沪同乡会”在东山创办“吴县私立莫厘中学校”，1949年4、5月间学校暂时停办。

1949年下半年“私立莫厘中学”继续开办。1950年秋至1951年下半年一度改为“太湖区私立莫厘中学”，属太湖区行政办事处领导。

1951年2月，苏南人民行政公署苏州地区专员公署批复高中停办。是年秋校名改为“私立吴县莫厘初级中学”。归吴县人民政府领导。

1951年12月8日，吴县人民政府批复，校名改为“私立吴县太湖初级中学”。

1952年12月，由国家接管。归苏南人民行政公署太湖办事处管理，校名改为“太湖初级中学”。

1953年上半年，建立震泽县，学校改名为“震泽县太湖初级中学”。不久，校名定为“震泽县初级中学”。

1956年下半年，重新开设高中，校名改为“震泽县中学”。

1959年4月，震泽县并入吴县，学校定名“吴县东山中学”。随着吴县撤县建市，学校亦更名为“吴县市东山中学”。

校容校貌

东山中学占地30981平方米，建筑面积12267平方米，建有洞庭楼、莫厘楼、震泽楼、太湖楼、东山楼等多幢富有现代化气息的教学楼，还配有教学现代化设备齐全的实验楼、微机房、语音室等。学校依山面湖，校内绿树成荫，果木丛生。夏观枇杷，秋赏红桔;龙柏盘顶，翠竹摇稍;水杉挺拔参天，银杏展枝成荫。

学校师资

现有高级教师32人，一级教师70人及一批朝气蓬勃富有创新进取精神的青年教师，初高中教师的学历达标率均超达了85%。

Dongshan Middle School in Wuzhong District of Suzhou City was founded in September 1937 and has a history of more than 60 years.It is an old middle school with a history of more than 75 years. It is now a three-star senior high school in Jiangsu Province. It has advanced education and teaching facilities, perfect campus network, multimedia classrooms and other first-class modern equipment, and has a 400-meter formal track and field.

School history

In August 1937, the Japanese aggressors invaded Shanghai, and the students in Shanghai dropped out of school and fled to Dongshan to avoid chaos. In order to make this group of young people continue to study, the people of Benshan opened the “Mori tutorial Middle School” in early September through Ye’s ancestral temple. In December 1937, the Japanese invaders occupied Dongshan and the school was closed.

In March 1946, the Dongting Association of fellow villagers in Shanghai established the Wuxian Private Mori Middle School in Dongshan, which was temporarily suspended in April and May 1949.

The Private Molly Middle School continued to open in the second half of 1949. From the autumn of 1950 to the second half of 1951, it was once changed to “Taihu District Private Mori Middle School”, under the leadership of the Taihu District Administrative Office.

In February 1951, the Suzhou District Commissioner’s Office of the Southern Jiangsu people’s Administrative Office replied that the high school was closed. In the autumn of that year, the name of the school was changed to “Private Wu County Moli Junior Middle School”. Under the leadership of the people’s Government of Wu County.

On December 8, 1951, the people’s Government of Wu County approved that the name of the school was changed to “Private Wuxian Taihu Junior Middle School”.

It was taken over by the state in December 1952. It is managed by the Taihu Lake Office of the people’s Administrative Office of Southern Jiangsu, and the name of the school is changed to “Taihu Junior Middle School”.

In the first half of 1953, Zhenze County was established and the school was renamed “Taihu Junior Middle School in Zhenze County”. Soon, the school was named “Zhenze County Junior Middle School”.

In the second half of 1956, the high school was reopened, and the name of the school was changed to “Zhenze County Middle School”.

In April 1959, Zhenze County was merged into Wu County, and the school was named “Wuxian Dongshan Middle School”. With the withdrawal of Wuxian County and the establishment of the city, the school also changed its name to “Wuxian Dongshan Middle School”.

School appearance

Dongshan Middle School covers an area of 30981 square meters, with a construction area of 12267 square meters. It has many modern teaching buildings, such as Dongting Building, Moli Building, Zhenze Building, Taihu Building, Dongshan Building, and so on. It is also equipped with a fully equipped experimental building, computer room, language lab and so on. The school faces the lake according to the mountain, with shady trees and fruit trees in the school. Summer view loquat, autumn enjoy red tangerine; dragon cypress pan top, green bamboo shake slightly; metasequoia towering, ginkgo branch shade.

School teachers

At present, there are 32 senior teachers, 70 first-class teachers and a group of vibrant, innovative and enterprising young teachers. The academic qualifications of junior and senior high school teachers have all exceeded 85%.
