贵州大学外国语学院简介

贵州大学外国语学院的前身是成立于1942年的国立贵州大学“英国语言文学系”，简称英语系(又叫外文系)，距今已有70多年的历史了。贵州大学外国语学院是贵州省最主要的外语人才培养基地，历史悠久，文化积淀厚重。培养出了像龙永图、李景光、汤本渊、朱敏才等国家级高级外交家与经贸人才，中国科学院院士周卫健等高级科研人才，以及李隆昌、陈海若、杨胜明、常勇、蔡虎等省内外优秀管理人才。还有不少毕业生已经成为美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、日本等国大学的终身教授以及我国和全省高校的骨干教师，在学术领域做出了卓越成就。现在的外国语学院已经发展成为以外语教学为中心，以教学研究为支撑，自身特色明显、在国内外具有一定影响的、教学与科研并重的学院。学院现有英语语言文学、日语语言文学、翻译、商务英语四个本科专业，其中英语语言文学专业开办有英语语言文学、旅游英语两个本科专业方向，日语语言文学开办有日语语言文学、旅游日语等两个本科专业方向;学院同时开设有英语、日语、俄语、法语、德语、韩语、西班牙语7个语种的二外课程供本院学生选择学习。学院现有外国语言文学一级学科一个：下设英语语言文学、语言学及应用语言学、日本语言文学三个二级学科硕士点;学院还有专业学位硕士点两个：翻译专业学位硕士点(MTI)和汉语国际教育专业学位硕士点(MTCSOL)，学院目前是贵州高校中拥有硕士学位点最多的外国语学院。

办学条件

学院拥有独立的办公和教学楼，先进完备的教学科研设备和语音室、图书资料室，有网络数字语言实验室、模拟语言实验室、同声传译室、计算机房、多媒体教室3500多平方米、4000多座。学院还拥有独立的外文图书资料室，面积300多平方米，拥有各类外语藏书3万余册，中外文期刊87种，以及各种音像资料300多种。

国际交流

学院着力培养国际型、复合型、应用型专门人才，先后在日本JTB咨询(北京)有限公司、美国蒙克莱尔州立大学、日本东京OLJ语言学院、日本大和语言学院建立了学生海外实习基地，每年派遣学生到日本、美国参加研修实习，培养学生的实践能力。毕业生就业面广，择业余地大，就职部门层次高，区域分布好。大批优秀人才已遍布海内外，其中许多已成为国内外知名学者、外交家、企事业单位领导人。

学院加强国际化合作办学力度，在美国南卡罗来纳州的PC学院(Presbyterian
College)建立了孔子学院，每年派出老师到孔子学院任教;与美国的圣廷大学、西切斯特大学;英国伯明翰大学;日本的佐贺大学、山口大学、创价大学、鸟取大学、广岛大学、南山大学;韩国的建阳大学、汉阳大学等国外二十多所大学和境外机构建立了广泛而又深入的合作。每年与美国PC学院和圣廷大学，日本山口大学和鸟取大学、韩国建阳大学等海外高校互派交换生和短期研修生。

学院是贵州省唯一的高等教育自学考试英语专业和商贸英语专业的主考单位;有全省唯一的国家教育部考试中心授权的剑桥商务英语(BEC)考点、雅思(IELTS)考点、日本语能力测试(JLPT)考点;是省教育厅唯一挂牌的贵州省高等学校外语培训中心;是贵州省委组织部、贵州省教育厅、贵州省广播电视台、贵阳市委组织部、贵州省水电八局、贵州省经济贸易合作委员会等省内多家单位的指定培训机构;学院现在还面向社会开展各类培训和留学服务工作，如BEC培训、雅思培训、日语培训、韩语培训、大学英语四六级培训、考研考博英语培训、出国人员英语培训、海外留学服务工作等;学院还对外承接各领域各层次的翻译工作。现在的贵州大学外国语学院已成为服务贵州地方经济社会发展，立足国内、面向世界的外语人才培养的重要基地。

The college has four undergraduate majors: English language and literature, Japanese language and literature, translation and business English, among which English language and literature major has two undergraduate majors: English language and literature and tourism English. Conditions for running a school

The college has independent office and teaching buildings, advanced and complete teaching and research equipment, language lab and library reference room, there are network digital language laboratory, analog language laboratory, simultaneous interpretation room, computer room, multimedia classroom more than 3500 square meters, more than 4000. The college also has an independent foreign language library with an area of more than 300 square meters, with a foreign language collection of more than 30,000 volumes, 87 Chinese and foreign language periodicals, and more than 300 kinds of audio-visual materials.

International communication

Focusing on training international, compound and applied professionals, the College has successively established overseas internship bases for students in JTB Consulting (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Monclair State University in Japan, OLJ language Institute in Tokyo, and Daiwa language College in Japan, and sends students to Japan and the United States to participate in research and practice every year to cultivate students’ practical ability. The college strengthens its international cooperation in running schools at PC College in South Carolina (Presbyterian).

College) established Confucius Institutes, sending teachers to teach at Confucius Institutes every year; established extensive and in-depth cooperation with more than 20 foreign universities and overseas institutions, including Sentinel University and Western Chester University in the United States; University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom; Saga University, Yamaguchi University, Soka University, Totori University, Hiroshima University and Nan Shan University in Japan; and Jianyang University and Hanyang University in South Korea. The College is the only self-taught examination unit for English and business English majors in higher education in Guizhou Province; it has the only Cambridge Business English (BEC) test center, the IELTS (IELTS) test center and the Japanese language proficiency test (JLPT) test center authorized by the National Ministry of Education examination center in the province; it is the only Guizhou higher education foreign language training center listed by the Provincial Department of Education.
