高州市第一中学

高州市第一中学，创办于1934年2月，原名为高州德明中学，解放后改名为高州一中。毗邻风光秀丽的潘州公园，现有已发展成为有90个教学班，师生员工6000多人(包括附属实验中学)的粤西名校。校园占地203亩，分教学区、运动区、学生生活区、教师村和远瞩园五大部分，区区相互连成一体，亭台楼阁点缀其间，既有雅致幽静的读书公园，又有展示学校师生博大胸怀和凌云壮志的大型雕塑。高品位的校园文化，颇具特色的人文景观，优美舒适的校园环境，使学校被评为“广东省首批100所美丽校园”。

高州市第一中学原名德明中学，创办于1934年2月14日。是胡汉民、陈济棠等国民党元老为纪念孙中山先生，而以中山先生的族名——“德明”为校名创办的学校，先(1934年2月14日)在香港九龙创办香港德明中学，后(1937年11月13日)在高州创办分校。1942年2月日本占领香港后，在日军的控制下，为方便殖民统治，日军将香港岛分成12区，九龙分成9区，新界分成7区，香港人民全面抵抗日本侵略。为求学校师生之安危，香港德明中学1942年3月校董会毅然决定内迁与高州分校合并，并逐步发展壮大。解放后先后易名为“茂名县第二中学”、“茂名县第一中学”、“高州县第一中学”，1993年经高州市人民政府批准，实行“高州市第一中学”和“高州德明中学”两名同用，国内用名为“高州市第一中学”，海外用名为“高州德明中学”。经过七十多年的发展，有110个教学班，9000多名师生员工(含附属实验中学)。

468名专任教师中，特级教师1人，高级教师114人，一级教师248人，2位教师被评为全国先进教育工作者，13位教师被评为“南粤优秀教师”。通过完善管理制度、外出学习培训等途径，全面提高教师素质。教师撰写的教育教学论文获省级以上奖励或在省级以上刊物发表的有94篇，其中有两篇获广东省吴汉良教育科学管理基金三等奖，有四个CAI课件制作获2000年广东省教育科学研究黄华奖的优秀奖，申报立项的国家级课题有14项，省级课题有13项，其中26项已通过结题验收，一项获省创新成果三等奖。

学校设施设备完善。1996年被评为“广东省一级学校”后，更是投入巨资，按广东省示范性普通高中标准，拆建或新建了校舍，教学用房和功能场室大大增加。完善了1千兆校园网、电子阅览室、数字监控系统，所有教室均配套了多媒体电教平台，并为教师配置了手提电脑，校内外教学资源均可共享，加强信息技术培训，实现备课办公的高效化。学生食住条件也大大改善，在全市率先为每个宿舍建成空气能热水供应系统，开通电话和直饮水，校内初步实现了一卡通管理。

学校办学条件优越教学设备先进，有各种功能室25个，全都按省一级学校的标准配备设施，既有传统的理、化、生等实验室，又有先进的计算机室、电子阅览室、电化教学平台等。位于市区中心背靠风光旖旎的潘州公园和古色古香的冼太公园，面朝挂榜岭，东邻引鉴河。

Gaozhou No. 1 Middle School, founded in February 1934, was formerly known as Gaozhou Deming Middle School, but changed its name to Gaozhou No. 1 Middle School after liberation. Adjacent to the scenic Panzhou Park, it has developed into a famous school in western Guangdong with 90 teaching classes and more than 6000 teachers, students and staff (including affiliated experimental middle schools). The campus covers an area of 203 mu, which is divided into five parts: teaching area, sports area, student living area, teacher village and foresight garden, which are only connected with each other, with pavilions and pavilions dotted with elegant and quiet reading parks. there are also large sculptures showing the broad minds and lofty aspirations of the school’s teachers and students. With its high-grade campus culture, distinctive cultural landscape and beautiful and comfortable campus environment, the school has been rated as “the first batch of 100 beautiful campuses in Guangdong Province”.

Gaozhou No. 1 Middle School, formerly known as Deming Middle School, was founded on February 14, 1934. In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, Hu Hanmin, Chen Jitang and other Kuomintang elders founded the school under the name of “Deming”, the clan name of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Hong Kong Deming Middle School was founded in Kowloon, Hong Kong (February 14, 1934). Later (November 13, 1937) established a branch school in Gaozhou. After the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong in February 1942, under the control of the Japanese army, in order to facilitate colonial rule, the Japanese army divided Hong Kong Island into 12 districts, Kowloon into nine districts and the New Territories into seven districts. The people of Hong Kong resisted Japanese aggression in an all-round way. In order to ensure the safety of teachers and students, the school board of Hong Kong Deming Middle School decided to relocate and merge with Gaozhou campus in March 1942, and gradually developed. After liberation, it was successively renamed “Maoming County No. 2 Middle School”, “Maoming County No. 1 Middle School” and “Gaozhou County No. 1 Middle School”. With the approval of the people’s Government of Gaozhou City in 1993, the two names of “Gaozhou No. 1 Middle School” and “Gaozhou Deming Middle School” were implemented. It is called “Gaozhou No. 1 Middle School” at home and “Gaozhou Deming Middle School” overseas. After more than 70 years of development, there are 110 teaching classes and more than 9000 teachers, students and staff (including affiliated experimental middle schools).

Among the 468 full-time teachers, 1 is a senior teacher, 114 are senior teachers, 248 are first-class teachers, 2 teachers are national advanced educators and 13 teachers are “excellent teachers in southern Guangdong”. Improve the quality of teachers in an all-round way by improving the management system and going out for study and training. 94 educational and teaching papers written by teachers have won awards at or above the provincial level or published in provincial-level journals, of which two have won the third prize of the Wu Hanliang Education and Science Management Fund of Guangdong Province, and four CAI courseware production have won the Excellence Award of the Huang Hua Award for Educational Science Research of Guangdong Province in 2000. 14 national-level projects and 13 provincial-level projects have been declared, of which 26 have passed the final examination and acceptance, and one has won the third prize of provincial innovation.

The school has perfect facilities. After being appraised as a “first-class school in Guangdong Province” in 1996, a huge amount of money was invested. According to the standard of Guangdong model ordinary high school, school buildings were demolished or built, and teaching rooms and function rooms were greatly increased. Improve the 1 gigabit campus network, electronic reading room, digital monitoring system, all classrooms are equipped with multimedia audio-visual education platform, and equipped with laptops for teachers, teaching resources can be shared inside and outside the school, and strengthen information technology training to achieve efficient lesson preparation. The food and housing conditions of students have also been greatly improved, taking the lead in building an air energy hot water supply system for each dormitory in the city, opening telephone and direct drinking water, and initially realizing one-card management in the school.

The school has superior conditions and advanced teaching equipment, with 25 functional rooms, all of which are equipped with facilities according to the standards of provincial schools, including traditional laboratories such as science, chemistry and students, as well as advanced computer room, electronic reading room, audio-visual teaching platform and so on. It is located in the center of the city with the beautiful Panzhou Park and the antique Xian Tai Park, facing Xianbang Ridge and the Yinjian River to the east.
