河北美术学院是经教育部批准设立全日制普通本科美术高校，是我国独立设置的九所美术学院之一，也是全国普通高等学校毕业生就业工作先进集体。学校秉持“自信自立，敢为人先”的校训精神，聘请中国艺术界具影响力的艺术家和行业领头人为导师，通过学研产一体化教学，立足河北、辐射周边，为京津冀地区培养具有科学精神、人文素养的应用型美术人才。学校现设有11个二级学院，开设60多个本专科专业，面向全国招生。

学校办条件优良，教学科研仪器先进，拥有当前最先进的VICON光学运动捕捉系统、省内领先的渲染农场等众多教学设备;美术博物馆拥有供学生基础训练鉴赏和临摹的馆藏名人书画、雕塑等文物3000余件，市场估值1亿元;图书馆馆藏专业图书66.5万册，电子图书20万册。为实现教学与市场零接轨，保障学生顺利就业，学校投资24.74亿元建设大学生实训就业创业孵化基地，建有157个高标准的校内专业化教学工作室，开创北京、上海、广州、石家庄等地57个校外实训基地;同时建有玩具研发中心、雕塑研究所、陶瓷研究所、书画揭裱文物修复研究所、青铜铸造研究所、民间工艺美术研究所、面塑研究所、陈子奋白描研究所、老庄文化研究中心等，实行产、学、研一体化教学。学校加大资金投入，建有高标准的宿舍、餐饮中心、体育场，实现校园网络全覆盖，形成了完备的公共服务体系，师生生活品质显著提高。

学校全面贯彻党的教育方针和文艺方针，坚持“提高质量、优化结构、办出特色、科学发展”的办学思路，实施人才强校战略，强化内涵建设，突出特色教学，教育教学质量显著提升，成绩斐然。近年来，学校承担科研项目111项;发表学术论文1064篇;出版专著及教材47部，自编教材30部;教师艺术作品获奖440项，其中国家级奖54项，学生艺术作品获省级及以上奖励达865件。

在2015年第十一届全国书法展中，陈阳静、娄光林老师，王浩同学三人创作的作品入展;2014年卢龙、马国彬老师创作的作品入选“第十二届全国美术作品展”;2014年罗康明同学设计的作品“雨维斯”，荣获第三届全国大学生设计大赛优秀奖;2013年兰新成老师创作的主题为《品》的作品入选“伊朗第五届国际字体节”，等等。

河北美术学院紧跟时代步伐，坚持开放办学，积极开展国际交流与合作。甄忠义校长多次带领优秀骨干团队访问韩国湖南大学、俄罗斯远东国立人文大学，应邀访问了联合国教科文组织和德国波斯职业教育中心及世界排名前20的十五所著名大学，学习借鉴先进教育理念。

目前，学校已与日本新宿动漫学院、韩国湖南大学、乌克兰利沃夫美术学院、意大利那不勒斯美术学院、俄罗斯远东国立人文大学签订联合培养协议;并与俄罗斯圣彼得堡师范大学等8所国际知名高校和3所国际交流协会建立友好合作关系。当前开设中韩、中俄专本连读国际班，中意本升硕直通车，中俄艺术本科交换生等项目。教学国际化战略的实施，为学校教育改革和发展奠定基础。

河北美术学院现占地1380亩，建筑面积48万平方米。校园山水环绕，绿草如茵，鸟语花香，自然和人文和谐统一，成为培养专业美术人才的摇篮。

北区建设遵循“崇尚自然、天人合一”的原则，以中国古建筑为主。明清建筑风格的文武庙，以立柱、横梁、顺檩等主要构件建造，内部装饰彩绘、雕塑、壁画，再现古代庙宇的庄严与神秘。仿唐建筑的老庄祠集大殿、亭子、影壁、走廊等于一体，重现盛唐建筑的恢宏气势。图书馆、墨香楼的黑瓦白墙、青砖门罩、木雕漏窗与建筑物融为一体，展现徽派建筑的典雅端庄。水榭、连廊、篆刻文人墨客诗句的匾额，体现着古典园林的诗情画意。

南区以欧洲建筑为主。哥特式“魔法城堡群”、罗马式国际艺术会展中心、巴洛克式艺术博物馆，共同组成欧洲古典园林，全面展现西方宗教艺术风采。世界桥梁艺术展览馆、城堡走廊展馆、八角型雕塑展览馆等十多个造型新颖展馆，推出西洋名雕塑图片展，世界名城堡图片展，西洋名画展等特色展览。美术帝国广场上，高耸的钟楼、典雅的拱窗、胜利女神像、高大的西洋骑士吸引着国内外学者、游人前来观光，也成为毕业典礼、晚会等大型活动举办的场所。

The construction of the North District follows the principle of “advocating nature and the unity of man and nature”, mainly based on Chinese ancient architecture. The Wenwu Temple in the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties is built with columns, beams, Shunyi and other main components, and the interior is decorated with colored paintings, sculptures and murals, reproducing the solemnity and mystery of the ancient temple. The Laozhuang Temple imitating Tang architecture integrates the main hall, pavilion, shadow wall, corridor and so on, recreating the magnificent momentum of Tang architecture. The black tile and white walls of the library and Moxiang Building, green brick door covers and wood-carved leaky windows are integrated with the buildings, showing the elegance and dignity of Hui-style architecture. The plaques of waterside pavilions, corridors and seal cutting literati poems reflect the poetic and picturesque feelings of classical gardens.

The southern district is dominated by European architecture. The Gothic “Magic Castle Group”, the Romanesque International Art Exhibition Center and the Baroque Art Museum jointly form the European classical garden, showing the western religious art style in an all-round way. The World Bridge Art Exhibition Hall, the Castle Corridor Exhibition Hall, the Octagonal Sculpture Exhibition Hall and more than a dozen novel shape galleries have launched characteristic exhibitions such as Western famous sculpture photo exhibition, world famous castle photo exhibition, Western famous painting exhibition and so on.
