学校地处宁波,占地1400余亩,建筑面积65万平方米,分设钱湖、回龙等校区。校园风景优美,教学设施完善,获省级“文明校园”、“平安校园”、“绿色学校”、“治安安全示范单位”等荣誉称号。

学校以应用型的办学定位、服务型的办学追求、创业型的办学特色、国际化的办学特征,恪守“以生为本、以师立校、面向市场、国际接轨”的办学理念,弘扬“只要有1%的希望就要尽100%的努力”的大学精神和“自强不息、恒志笃行”的校训传统。

学校为“国家硕士专业学位研究生教育试点单位”、“全国地方院校新闻传播学应用型人才培养试点单位”和“浙江省计算机专业应用型人才培养试点单位”。与中国青年报社共建有“新媒体协同创新基地”,与宁波市委宣传部共建有“新闻学院”。现拥有4个国家特色专业、1个国家级教学创新团队、1个教育部人才培养创业教育实验区、2门国家精品课程、2个省级科技创新团队、1个省重中之重学科、1个省哲学社会科学重点研究基地、5个省级重点学科、4个省级创新团队、1个省级创新教育实验区。9个省级重点专业、18门省级精品课程。承担教育部新世纪高等教育教学改革工程项目。

学校现有商学院、现代物流学院、法学院、文化与传播学院、外语学院、设计艺术与建筑学院、生物与环境学院、电子信息学院、计算机与信息学院、基础学院、创新学院等,设有信息经济学院、国际学院、继续教育学院、创业教育学院、宁波青年创业学院。开设43个本科专业、有2个工程硕士授权领域,现有全日制在校本科生、研究生、留学生等2万余名。2011年10月,学校被国务院学位委员会列为硕士专业学位教育试点单位,2012年顺利招收生物工程、物流工程专业硕士研究生,分别以港口物流和海洋生物为研究特色。

优越的办学条件保障学生的成才成人:学校专任教师千余名,高级职称教师400余名,包括中科院院士、国务院特殊津贴专家、教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”、省级“151”人才、高校教学名师、甬江学者及省高校中青年学科带头人。学校实验设备总值2亿余元,建有12个中央财政资助实验室、2个省重点实验室、8个省级实验教学示范中心、4个市级重点实验室及宁波市工业经济发展研究中心、宁波市文化产业发展研究中心等20余家科研机构。实行人、机、书一体化管理的图书馆,藏书量190余万册,收藏近3千种中外文现刊。

教育改革创新造就高素质应用型人才:学校以培养“基础实、能力强、具有创新和创业意识,具有国际视野的高素质应用型人才”为目标,形成“理论教学、实践教学、素质拓展”三位一体的贴近社会需求的以能力培养为核心的人才培养体系。学校探索实施研究性教学,引导学生以质疑性与批判性思维的方式,唤醒创造性思维,在问题研究中实现创新能力的增长,从而建构自己的知识体系。浙江省教育厅分别于2008年、2011年组织全省本科院校教学校长、教务处处长来校召开教学改革现场观摩会,各校专家们对研究性教学给予了高度赞誉,“学生发言踊跃,表达清晰,这在大学课堂中很难看到。”学校已经承担了教育部主办的“地方本科院校生物类专业合作研究性教学骨干教师高级研修班”等师资培训班,全国已有50余所高校400余名教师、领导参加培训。
为高等教育观念更新、教学方法创新作出努力。

创新创业教育平台提升学生综合素质:学校重视学生创业意识、创新能力的培养,设立创新创业基金、创新创业中心、创业教育学院、创新学院等提升学生综合素质的平台,把学生的课外活动、学科竞赛、科研活动作为培养创新人才的重要环节,逐步形成了职业经理人的培养机制与方法。培养了“到联合国实习”的毕业生沈翠萍,中国首名“赴南极科考”的在校本科生戴芳芳,以总分第一名被财政部录用为公务员的詹树,毕业四年创办5家公司年销售超亿元的创业型学子王建……。2012年10月全国首家高校创业指导师培训基地落户我校。设有宁波市大学生创业园,截止到2015年6月,应届毕业生自主创办的企业累计突破1500家。

国际化办学氛围拓展学生的国际视野:学校与世界百强高校之一的著名大学英国诺丁汉大学合作创建宁波诺丁汉大学,与世界名校美国纽约州立大学普拉茨堡分校合办物流管理专业。与世界一流学校合作办学,有利于加强学科建设,快速提高整体办学水平。学校与英国、美国、法国、德国、荷兰、西班牙、波兰、日本、韩国等20余个国家的30余所院校建立了校际合作关系,在校学生可赴各合作院校交流学习,拓展国际视野,学习先进文化;毕业生可申请到对方院校就读硕士、博士学位。每年均有百余名学生到合作院校学习。学校还积极开展来华留学生教育,每年有20多个国家二百余名留学生在校学习和生活,极大地丰富了校园的国际化氛围。学校还开展了留学生学位教育,目前,已有留学生获我校本科学士与研究生硕士学位。

Zhejiang Wanli College is a new type of university which has carried out the reform of management mode and operation mechanism on the basis of a provincial ordinary university with a history of 50 years. It has been innovated for ten years and has been regarded by educational experts as “the exemplary practice of modern university system with Chinese characteristics”.

The school is located in Ningbo, covers an area of more than 1400 mu, construction area of 650000 square meters, separate Qianhu, Huilong and other campus. With beautiful campus scenery and perfect teaching facilities, it has won provincial honorary titles such as “civilized campus”, “safe campus”, “green school”, “public security demonstration unit” and so on.

The school has business schools, modern logistics schools, law schools, culture and communication schools, foreign language schools, design art and architecture schools, biology and environment schools, electronic information schools, computer and information schools, basic schools, innovation schools, etc., with information economy school, international school, continuing education school, entrepreneurship education school, Ningbo Youth Entrepreneurship College. The international atmosphere of running a school expands students’ international horizons:The school cooperates with the University of Nottingham, one of the top 100 universities in the world, to establish the University of Nottingham in Ningbo and the State University of New York at Platzburg in the United States to specialize in logistics management. Cooperation with world-class schools is conducive to strengthening discipline construction and rapidly improving the overall level of running schools. The school has established intercollegiate cooperative relations with more than 30 universities in more than 20 countries, including Britain, the United States, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Japan, South Korea and so on. Students can go to various cooperative colleges for exchange and study, expand their international horizons and learn advanced culture. Graduates can apply for master’s and doctoral degrees in other universities. Every year, more than 100 students go to cooperative colleges to study. The school also actively carries out education for foreign students in China, with more than 200 international students from more than 20 countries studying and living on campus every year, greatly enriching the international atmosphere of the campus. The school has also carried out degree education for foreign students. at present, some foreign students have obtained bachelor’s degree and postgraduate master’s degree from our university.
