河南佛教学院

河南佛教学院是于2005年经国家宗教事务局、河南省政府宗教事务局批准，由社会捐资兴建，河南省佛教协会主办的四年制本科佛教高等院校。学院旨在继承佛教传统精神，培养适应现代弘法需求的优秀僧才，推动佛教学术研究，促进国际佛学交流，宏扬优秀佛教文化艺术，服务和谐社会建设。

学院座落于豫鄂两省交界处淮河之源、佛道圣地——河南省桐柏县桐柏山。这里群山环抱，依山傍水，植被丰富，原始生态保存良好，佛教历史渊源深厚，是临济宗白云系祖庭，现有大小寺院20余座，是理想的佛教文化教育场所和学修道场。

学院一期工程2006年6月开工建设，历时5年，于2010年10月竣工验收并投入使用。总占地面积100000平方米，建筑面积30000余平方米。建筑为仿盛唐风格并与山势风貌相应，包括主教学园区、佛教实践园区、行政办公区、生活区、佛教文化活动中心五大区域。禅修中心、佛教文化研究中心等特色功能区正在规划并将投入建设。

学院功能齐全： 设有计算机网络教室、多媒体学术报告厅、图书馆、阅览室、书画室、网络信息中心、网站等。配套设施完善： 院区水、电、路、网络四通，并拥有先进的现代多媒体教学设备、丰富的图书音像资料，有力的行政后勤保障，以及舒适的学修环境。

学院院长由河南省佛教协会会长永信大和尚担任，王国全先生担任常务副院长，妙侠法师、心广法师、印乐法师、心舫法师、延洁法师担任副院长。学院内设院务办公室、教务处、法务处、佛教活动中心、艺术团、后勤处、基建处七个中层管理机构。

学院拥有一支结构合理、学术水平高、教学能力强、教学经验丰富、精通学科的专业人才队伍并与外聘专家、特邀客座教授共同组成强大的教学师资和工作团体。

学院已于2010年11月挂牌招生。现开设的佛学专业满额招生200名，学院免费向学僧提供食宿、教科书，统一发放僧装，并按月发给一定数量的生活补贴，对学行俱优的学僧提供奖学金。

随着学院建设的全面发展，学院将传承、研究和弘扬佛教文化，为建设人间佛教、实现人间净土，做出应有的贡献。

Henan Buddhist College is a four-year Buddhist university approved by the State Bureau of religious Affairs and the religious Affairs Bureau of Henan Provincial Government and funded by the society and sponsored by Henan Buddhist Association in 2005. The college aims to inherit the traditional spirit of Buddhism, train excellent monks to meet the needs of modern Dharma, promote academic research on Buddhism, promote international Buddhist exchanges, promote excellent Buddhist culture and art, and serve the construction of a harmonious society.

The college is located in Tongbai Mountain, Tongbai County, Henan Province, which is the source of the Huaihe River and the holy land of Buddhism and Taoism at the junction of Henan and Hubei provinces. Surrounded by mountains, leaning against mountains and water, it is rich in vegetation, well preserved in primitive ecology, and has a deep history of Buddhism. It is the ancestral court of the Baiyun system of Linji Zong. There are more than 20 temples, large and small, and it is an ideal place for Buddhist culture and education and a place for study and practice.

The first phase of the college project began construction in June 2006 and lasted for 5 years. It was completed and accepted and put into use in October 2010. The total area is 100000 square meters and the construction area is more than 30000 square meters. The building imitates the style of the prosperous Tang Dynasty and corresponds to the mountain style, including the main teaching park, Buddhist practice park, administrative office area, living area and Buddhist cultural activity center. Special functional areas such as meditation centers and Buddhist cultural research centers are being planned and will be put into construction.

The college has complete functions: computer network classroom, multimedia academic lecture hall, library, reading room, calligraphy and painting room, network information center, website and so on. The supporting facilities are perfect: the four links of water, electricity, road and network in the hospital, and has advanced modern multimedia teaching equipment, rich books and audio-visual materials, strong administrative and logistical support, and a comfortable learning environment.

The dean of the college is served as a monk Yongxin, president of Henan Buddhist Association, Mr. Wang Guoquan as executive vice president, and Miao Xia Master, Xin Guang Master, Yin Le Master, Xinfang Master and Yanjie Master as Vice Deans. The college has seven middle-level management organizations, namely, the administrative office, the academic affairs office, the legal affairs office, the Buddhist activity center, the art troupe, the logistics department and the infrastructure office.

The college has a team of professionals with reasonable structure, high academic level, strong teaching ability, rich teaching experience and proficiency in the discipline, and together with external experts and specially invited visiting professors to form a strong teaching staff and working group.

The college has been listed for enrollment in November 2010. At present, the Buddhist major has a full enrollment of 200 students. The college provides free accommodation and textbooks to monks, uniformly distributes monks’ clothes, and provides a certain amount of monthly living subsidies and scholarships to monks who are excellent in study and practice.

With the all-round development of the college construction, the college will inherit, study and carry forward the Buddhist culture, and make due contributions to the construction of human Buddhism and the realization of the Pure Land on earth.
