北京大学政府管理学院

北京大学政府管理学院成立于2001年12月22日，是中国首家政府管理学院，学院跨政治学、公共管理与应用经济学三个一级学科。

北京大学政府管理学院于2001年12月成立，罗豪才教授任学院院长。学院以创建世界一流学府为目标：立足本国、放眼世界，求真务实、追求卓越，力争成为我国政治学、公共政策和公共管理科研、教学、培训、咨询和国际交流的重要平台;努力为国家培养公共事业以及相关学科的学术和实践的领军人才。

学院下设政治学、行政管理、公共经济、公共政策、政治经济、城市与区域管理6个系。学院现有专职教师50多名，约1/5具有国外大学的博士学位，教师的学术专业背景横跨政治学、经济学、法学、社会学、历史学、工程和信息技术，其中多位教授是政府部门的咨询顾问;多位教师被评为北京大学“十佳教师”。

学院拥有自己独立的廖凯原大楼，楼内提供科研、教学、图书、会议、视频和同声传译等一流的设施。

在科研方面，学院倡导学术研究和政策研究并举，院附属的各个研究中心/所的研究课题涉及国际、国家、社会/企业等多层面上的学术和政策问题。教育部重点研究基地 – 北京大学政治发展与政府管理研究所 – 主要由学院教师组成。学院的科研经费充实，在北京大学人文社科领域中领先。北京大学-美国林肯土地研究院联合研究中心也落户在学院大楼里。这些中心/所是学院师资进行跨学科研究和学术交流的平台。

在人才培养方面，学院的教学理念是宽基础、精专业。学院的MPA专业学位教学尤其注重理论联系实践、拓宽学员跨学科的视野。除了MPA专业学位外(包括与国家行政学院的联合MPA 项目)，学院还提供多种学术学位教育，包括3个本科方向、7个硕士专业和4个博士专业，并每年为优秀学生提供几十个一万元奖学金。北京大学-耶鲁大学本科联合项目办公室也设在学院大楼内。继续教育，特别是政府高级领导干部培训，也是学院教学的重点。

在对外合作和交流方面，学院与国内政府部门联系广泛，并举办《北京大学公共政策讲坛》，定期邀请政府高级官员来学院讲学。在国际上，学院与北美、欧洲和亚洲等国际知名大学(如哈佛大学、耶鲁大学、哥伦比亚大学、普林斯顿大学、伦敦经济和政治学院、巴黎政治学院、李光耀公共政策学院)均有实质意义的合作和交流，并通过《北京大学公共政策国际论坛》邀请各国政府、企业和学术界的领军人物来学院讲学。

The School of Government Management of Peking University, founded on December 22, 2001, is the first school of government management in China. It spans three first-tier disciplines: political science, public management and applied economics.

The School of Government Administration of Peking University was established in December 2001, with Professor Luo Haocai as dean. The college aims to create a world-class university: based on its own country, looking to the world, seeking truth, pragmatism and excellence, and striving to become an important platform for scientific research, teaching, training, consultation and international exchanges in politics, public policy and public management in China; strive to train leading talents in public utilities and related disciplines for the country.

The college consists of six departments: political science, administration, public economy, public policy, political economy, urban and regional management. At present, the college has more than 50 full-time teachers, and about 1xuan5 has doctorates from foreign universities. the teachers’ academic backgrounds span political science, economics, law, sociology, history, engineering and information technology. many of the professors are consultants to government departments, and many teachers are named as the “Top Ten Teachers” of Peking University.

The college has its own independent Liao Kaiyuan Building, which provides first-class facilities such as scientific research, teaching, books, conferences, video and simultaneous interpretation.

In the aspect of scientific research, the college advocates both academic research and policy research, and the research topics of the research centers / institutes affiliated to the college cover international, national, social / enterprise and other academic and policy issues. The key research base of the Ministry of Education-the Institute of political Development and Government Management of Peking University-is mainly composed of college teachers. The college has substantial funding for scientific research and takes the lead in the field of humanities and social sciences of Peking University. The joint research center of Peking University and Lincoln Land Research Institute is also located in the college building. These centres / institutes are platforms for interdisciplinary research and academic exchanges among faculty members.

In the aspect of personnel training, the teaching concept of the college is broad foundation and fine specialty. The MPA professional degree teaching of the college pays special attention to combining theory with practice and broadening students’ interdisciplinary horizons. In addition to the MPA professional degree (including the joint MPA program with Chinese Academy of Governance), the college also offers a variety of academic degree education, including 3 undergraduate programs, 7 master’s programs and 4 doctoral programs, and dozens of 10, 000 yuan scholarships for outstanding students each year. The Peking University-Yale undergraduate Joint Program Office is also located in the college building. Continuing education, especially the training of senior government leading cadres, is also the focus of college teaching.

In terms of foreign cooperation and exchanges, the College has extensive contacts with domestic government departments, and holds the “Public Policy Forum of Peking University” and regularly invites senior government officials to give lectures at the college. Internationally, the College has substantial cooperation and exchanges with internationally renowned universities in North America, Europe and Asia, such as Harvard University, Yale University, Columbia University, Princeton University, the London School of Economics and Politics, the Paris School of political Science, and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. Leading figures from governments, businesses and academia are invited to give lectures through the “Peking University International Forum on Public Policy”.
