威海二中简介

威海二中是威海市教育局直属重点中学之一，有着悠久的办学历史和深厚的文化底蕴，其前身为1926年设立的“齐东中学”,办学历史可以远溯到1891年清朝北洋水师创办的武备学堂。1954年定名为“山东省威海第二中学”。1969年2月学校设高中部，开始招收高中班，成为完全中学;1994年，威海二中初中部任课教师与学生全部迁至塔山，新建了塔山中学，威海二中成为纯高中。2004年6月28日，根据威海市人民政府43次常务会议《关于市区高中段教育资源整合的意见》的指示精神，威海二中与威海三中成建制合并，学校名称仍为威海二中，合并后学校分南、北两个校区：南校区位于上海路59号，占地面积135.24亩，毗邻汽车站、火车站、青烟威城际铁路威海总站，交通便利;北校区位于海滨北路105号，占地面积54.80亩，依山傍海，钟灵毓秀，幽雅别致，静谧安适。学校有教学楼、办公楼、实验楼、电教楼、多功能餐厅、学生公寓楼、学术报告厅以及体育馆、塑胶操场等办学设施，总建筑面积为113804平方米;内部教学设备先进完善，教室电教器材齐全，探究实验室、录播室、微机室、语音室等装备先进，办公自动化、备课网络化、教学多媒体化。学校现有在编教职工418人，在校学生3700多名。

威海二中桃李满天下：原全国政协副主席、中国工程院院长宋健，原空军司令员王海，原中国常驻联合国代表陈楚，原商业部部长刘毅，著名电影导演董克娜等都是威海二中优秀毕业生代表。两弹一星功勋奖章获得者郭永怀先生，也曾在威海二中执教。
