吴中区教育局的主要职责

1.全面贯彻执行党和国家的教育方针、政策，落实国家和地方有关教育的法律、法规;组织实施省、市地方性教育法规和政策。

2.根据全市教育发展战略思路，统筹规划、协调指导全区教育体制和办学体制等方面的改革;研究制定并组织实施全区教育事业的发展规划及年度计划。

3.根据有关部门拟定的有关教育经费筹措政策、学校收费政策，配合筹措教育经费。提出区级财政预算内教育经费、教育费附加、地方教育费附加、教师奖励基金及其他由区统筹使用的经费的安排计划。统筹管理本部门教育经费;对局直属单位经费的审计监督。

4.综合管理全区基础教育、高等教育、职业教育、成人教育、社区教育以及社会力量办学、扫盲等工作，构建终身教育体系。

5.指导各类学校党的建设工作;负责各校校长和局直属单位校级领导干部管理工作。

6.负责全区各级各类学校的思想政治工作，规划和指导全区学校精神文明建设工作，做好学校的统战和稳定工作。

7.负责局直属学校和事业单位党的纪律检查和监察工作;指导各类学校党的纪律检查和监察工作。

8.规划和指导学校的教育教学改革，指导德育工作、体育卫生、艺术教育工作及国防教育工作。

9.统筹规划并指导全区教师和教育行政干部队伍的建设工作。组织指导中小学(幼儿园)、中等职业学校教师资格证书制度的实施;指导教育人事制度改革。负责教育系统的人事管理及劳动工资工作，负责全区中小学教师资格的认定和教师职务资格的评审工作。

10.负责全区高等教育自学考试及其他有关教育考试的管理工作。
