成立时间 安溪第一中学创办于1924年

学校坚持以教学为中心，致力教学质量的提高，自1982年高考录取突破百人大关以后，每年高考都上一个新台阶。三年来，高考上本科线人数2465人(不含体美音)，叶舒凯、胡航海、苏福金等8人考上清华、北大，林伟鹏等8人总分或单科成绩居泉州市第一名，学生参加各级各类学科竞赛，有300多人次获市级以上奖励。随着国家新一轮课程改革的全面实施，学校营造|“问题即课题，教学即研究，成果即成长”的科研氛围，围绕“自学-实践-创新”教改总课题，加强教育科研，加大教改力度，确立了2个国家级、5个省级、2个市级和5个县级科研课题，构建学校科研网络。积极整合优质资源，按照”必修课程、选修课程和综合实践活动课程”建构学校课程体系，面向全体学生，开设选修课程，开发校本课程，开展综合实践活动，营造科学文化氛围，培养学生的实践能力和创新精神，提高学生的综合素质。学校荣获全国推行《国家体育锻炼标准施行办法》先进单位、“全国优秀校园文学报刊”称号。多年来，广大侨亲校友对母校的发展十分关心，大力支持学校发展。目前2010届毕业班有19班。1-12班为理科班，13-18为文科班。19班为理科实验班。

从1985年以来，老校长王瑞璧，老校友柯其香、李荣扬等先生带头捐资并发动海外校友侨亲先后筹集资金278万元人民币，兴建了校友楼、侨贤楼、教学楼，老校友刘鸿基、林锥夫妇，侨亲王雪玲，林永固、叶秀元、王泉成、张明法、林文侨等校友捐资设立奖教奖学基金，添置教学设备;1996年以来，侨亲李陆大先生热爱家乡教育事业,先后捐赠1259.3732万元人民币，资助学校兴建景昀科学楼、吴思敏图书馆、吴伯桢电教馆、李振羽艺术馆和学生宿舍、食堂，现在又再支持学校兴建一幢8850平方米的综合教学楼。校友、侨亲的大力支持，使学校的办学条件大为改善，为学校全面实施素质教育奠定了坚实的物质基础。回首过去，豪情满怀，展望未来，前程似锦。我们深信，有各级领导的正确领导，社会各界和校友、侨亲的关心支持，全体师生将更加努力，把安溪一中的教育教学工作搞得更好，早日成为“国家级示范性高中”。
