燕山大学里仁学院

燕山大学里仁学院成立于2001年7月，是经河北省人民政府批准、教育部确认的独立学院，由全国重点大学――燕山大学按照新机制、新模式举办的一所全日制本科普通高等学校。学院座落于著名海滨城市――河北省秦皇岛市，毗邻燕山大学。学院校园环境幽雅，基础设施先进，师资力量雄厚，办学条件优良。学院占地1020余亩，建筑面积38万平方米。

学院依托燕山大学学科基础，根据地方经济和社会发展需求，现设置专业41个，涉及工、理、文、经、管、法、教等多个学科门类。学院面向全国招生，现有全日制本科在校生15000余人。

学院办学层次为本科，学制四年，按学年学分制管理。学生学习期满，成绩合格，由学院具印颁发普通高等学校毕业证书。自2008级新生起，符合学士学位授予条件的学生，由学院具印颁发学士学位证书。

学院拥有一支德才兼备、学缘结构合理、专业素质良好的教师队伍。绝大部分教师来自燕山大学，所有专业实验均由燕山大学相应专业实验室完成，有效地保证了教育教学质量。

学院以“2+2”的模式构建教学平台，体现“强化基础，重视应用”的特点。前两年按照一级学科要求设置公共和基础课程，完成基础教学;后两年按照二级学科和专业方向要求设置专业基础课程和专业课程，强化专业基础，突出专业特色，侧重实践能力培养，实现应用型高级专门人才的培养目标。

学院始终坚持以育人为本，以学生成长成才为中心，因材施教，促使教育教学质量不断提高。学生在国际大学生健美操精英赛、全亚洲大专英语辩论赛、全国大学生数学建模大赛、全国大学生课外学术科技作品竞赛和“CCTV杯”全国英语演讲大赛等一系列科技、文化、体育活动中屡获殊荣;目前已有7名同学获批14项国家专利。2010、2011、2012年毕业生考研录取率分别达到17%、20.53%、21.08%;较高的综合素质，良好的专业技能，使得毕业生深受用人单位欢迎。

一流的办学条件，良好的办学水平，使学院获得了较高的社会声誉。近年来，学院连续承办了2006年中国独立学院峰会和2007年全国独立学院党建与思想教育研讨会，2009年成功承办第十一届中国大学生篮球联赛女子八强赛，还举办了全国独立学院学生工作创新论坛;在《2011中国大学星级评价报告》中，入选“2011中国四星级民办高校”，其中机械设计制造及其自动化专业被评为五星级特色本科专业。学院先后荣获“公众满意·中国十大名牌独立学院”、“网络中国·消费品牌活跃度及影响力独立学院十强”、“综合实力二十强独立学院”和“新浪教育盛典·中国十大品牌独立学院”、“全国先进独立学院”、

Established in July 2001, Liren College of Yanshan University is an independent college approved by the people’s Government of Hebei Province and confirmed by the Ministry of Education. Yanshan University is a full-time undergraduate university run by Yanshan University according to the new mechanism and new model. The college is located in the famous seaside city-Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, adjacent to Yanshan University. The college has an elegant campus environment, advanced infrastructure, strong teachers and excellent conditions for running a school. The college covers an area of more than 1020 mu and has a construction area of 380000 square meters.

Relying on the discipline foundation of Yanshan University, according to the needs of local economic and social development, the college now has 41 majors, involving engineering, science, liberal arts, economics, management, law, teaching and other disciplines. The college enrolls students across the country and has more than 15000 full-time undergraduate students.

The college is run at the undergraduate level with a four-year academic system and is managed according to the academic year credit system. Upon the expiration of the period of study and qualified grades, the college shall issue a diploma from an ordinary institution of higher learning. Starting from the freshmen of the class of 2008, students who meet the requirements for awarding a bachelor’s degree shall be issued with a bachelor’s degree certificate by the college.

The college has a team of teachers with both ability and political integrity, reasonable academic structure and good professional quality. Most of the teachers are from Yanshan University, and all the professional experiments are completed by the corresponding professional laboratories of Yanshan University, which effectively ensures the quality of education and teaching.

The college constructs the teaching platform with the mode of “2-2”, which embodies the characteristics of “strengthening the foundation and attaching importance to application”. In the first two years, public and basic courses were set up in accordance with the requirements of first-tier disciplines, and basic teaching was completed; in the last two years, professional basic courses and professional courses were set up in accordance with the requirements of secondary disciplines and professional directions, so as to strengthen the professional foundation and highlight professional characteristics, focus on the cultivation of practical ability, and achieve the goal of training applied senior professionals.

The college always insists on educating people, focusing on the growth of students, teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, and promoting the continuous improvement of the quality of education and teaching. Students have won numerous awards in a series of scientific and technological, cultural and sports activities, such as the International College Aerobics Elite Competition, the all-Asian College English debate Competition, the National College Mathematical Modeling Competition, the National College extracurricular academic Science and Technology work Competition and the “CCTV Cup” National English speech Competition. At present, 7 students have been granted 14 national patents. The admission rates of graduates in 2010, 2011 and 2012 reached 17%, 20.53% and 21.08% respectively. First-class conditions for running a school, good level of running a school, so that the college has won a high social reputation. In recent years, the college has successively hosted the 2006 China Independent College Summit and the 2007 National Independent College Party Building and ideological Education Seminar, and successfully hosted the 11th China University Basketball League Women’s quarterfinals in 2009.
