西安电子科技大学简称“西电”或“西军电”,坐落于古都西安。学校是中央部属高校,教育部直属、工信部共建,国家首批“211工程”,是“985工程优势学科创新平台”、“111计划”、“2011计划”重点建设高校(中国电子信息领域、邮电领域唯一的“2011计划”牵头高校),35所示范性软件学院的高校之一、集成电路人才培养基地的高校之一,56所获批设立研究生院的重点大学之一,也是北京高科大学联盟的重要成员。

1931年1月28日,红一方面军总司令朱德、总政委毛泽东于小布总部签发“调学生学无线电的命令”,随后,第一期无线电训练班在小布镇陈家土楼正式开课。后迁移至瑞金,成立中央军委无线电学校,是毛泽东等老一辈革命家亲手创建的第一所工程技术学校。1958年学校迁址西安,1966年转为地方建制,1988年定为西安电子科技大学。该校是中国最早建立信息论、信息系统工程、雷达、微波天线、电子机械、电子对抗等专业的高校之一,开辟了中国IT学科的先河,形成了鲜明的电子与信息学科特色与优势。毛泽东曾先后两次为该校题词:“全心全意为人民服务”、“艰苦朴素”。

截至2015年6月,学校有南北两个校区,总占地面积约270公顷,有专任教师1900余名,其中,博士生导师279人,硕士生导师845人。有院士4人,双聘院士13人;各类在校生3万余人,其中博士研究生1700余人,硕士研究生近9000人。

学科建设

截止2014年学校拥有2个一级国家重点学科,拥有27个省部级重点学科,拥有12个博士学位授权一级学科,20个硕士学位授权一级学科,50个博士学位授权点,101个硕士学位授权点,9个博士后科研流动站[5]
,48个本科专业,2个工程硕士专业学位授权点,15个国家特色专业。(截止2011年,国家特色专业每年所招收的学生数占学校全部招收学生数的三分之二)

教学成果

截至2014年,学校有国家特色专业15个,国家精品课程13门,国家精品资源共享课11门,省级精品课程54门,省级精品资源共享课51门。建设有3个国家人才培养及教学基地,5个国家级实验教学示范中心,15个省级实验教学示范中心,3个国家级人才培养模式创新实验区以及18个省级人才培养模式创新实验区。

科研成就

学校“十五计划”以来先后承担了“863”、“973”、创新工程等1600余项重点项目,产生了一批标志性的研究成果,获中国级科技奖励12项。

学校在密码学方面创立了“肖—梅西定理”,研制出中国第一台气象雷达、第一套流星余迹通讯系统、第一台可编程雷达信号处理机、第一台ATM交换机,第一台毫米波通讯机,第一个相控阵雷达系统,第一台雷达干扰机,第一套电磁孤立子实验系统,第一炉单晶锗以及中国解放军通信装备史上第一部“塞绳电报互换机”、第一台“塔型管空腔振荡器”、第一套“三坐标相控阵雷达”等。

学术资源

截止2014年,该校图书馆馆藏文献614万册,其中纸质文献约234万册,电子文献380万册,中外文现刊1300种,拥有45种平台的中外文电子资源,数据库共计120个。

Brief introduction of Xi’an University of Electronic Science and Technology

Xi’an University of Electronic Science and Technology, referred to as “Xidian” or “Xijun Dian”, is located in the ancient capital Xi’an. The school is a university under the central ministry, which is jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is one of the key universities (the only leading university in the field of electronic information, post and telecommunications in China), one of the 35 demonstration software colleges and one of the integrated circuit talent training bases. One of the 56 key universities that have been approved to set up graduate schools, and is also an important member of the Beijing Federation of High-tech Universities.

On January 28, 1931, Zhu de, commander-in-chief of the Red Front Army, and Mao Zedong, the chief political commissar, issued an order to transfer students to study radio at the Xiaobu headquarters. subsequently, the first radio training course officially opened in Chen Jia Tulou, Xiaobu Town. Later, he moved to Ruijin and established the Central military Commission Radio School, which was the first engineering and technical school personally founded by Mao Zedong and other revolutionaries of the older generation. The school moved to Xi’an in 1958, changed to the local system in 1966, and was designated as Xi’an University of Electronic Science and Technology in 1988. The university is one of the earliest universities in China to establish specialties such as information theory, information system engineering, radar, microwave antenna, electro-mechanical, electronic countermeasure and so on. It has opened up a precedent for IT discipline in China and formed distinct characteristics and advantages of electronics and information discipline. Mao Zedong wrote inscriptions for the school twice: “serving the people wholeheartedly” and “hard work and plain living”.

As of June 2015, the school has two north and south campuses, covering a total area of about 270ha, with more than 1900 full-time teachers, including 279doctoral supervisors and 845master’s degree supervisors. There are 4 academicians, 13 academicians and more than 30, 000 students of all kinds, including more than 1700 doctoral students and nearly 9000 master’s degree students.

Discipline construction

As of 2014, the school has 2 first-level national key disciplines, 27 provincial and ministerial key disciplines, 12 first-tier disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 20 authorized first-level disciplines for master’s degrees, 50 authorized points for doctoral degrees, 101 authorized points for master’s degrees, and 9 postdoctoral research mobile stations [5]

There are 48 undergraduate majors, 2 engineering master’s degree authorization points and 15 national characteristic majors. (as of 2011, the annual enrollment of students with national characteristics accounted for 2/3 of the total number of students enrolled by the school.)

Teaching achievement

As of 2014, the school has 15 specialties with national characteristics, 13 national high-quality courses, 11 national high-quality resource sharing courses, 54 provincial high-quality courses and 51 provincial high-quality resource sharing courses. There are 3 national talent training and teaching bases, 5 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 15 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 national talent training mode innovation experimental areas and 18 provincial talent training mode innovation experimental areas.

Scientific research achievements

Since the 10th five-year Plan, the school has successively undertaken more than 1600 key projects, such as “863,973” and innovation projects, produced a number of landmark research achievements, and won 12 Chinese-level science and technology awards.

The school established the “Shaw-Macy Theorem” in cryptography, and developed China’s first weather radar, the first meteor trail communication system, the first programmable radar signal processor, the first ATM switch, the first millimeter wave communication machine, the first phased array radar system, the first radar jammer, and the first electromagnetic soliton experimental system. The first furnace of single crystal germanium and the first “plug cable Telegraph exchange”, the first “tower tube cavity oscillator”, the first set of “three-coordinate phased array radar” in the history of communication equipment of the PLA.

Academic resources

As of 2014, the university library has collected 6.14 million volumes of documents, including 2.34 million copies of paper documents, 3.8 million copies of electronic documents, 1300 kinds of current Chinese and foreign language journals, 45 platforms of Chinese and foreign language electronic resources, and a total of 1300 databases.
