地理历史:学校地处中国上海,三个校区分别位于松江区和长宁区,占地面积近2000亩,校园环境宜人,系“上海市花园单位”。学校创建于1951年,时名华东纺织工学院,1985年,更名为中国纺织大学,1999年,更名为东华大学。1960年,被国家教育部确定为全国重点大学,是中国首批具有博士、硕士、学士三级学位授予权的大学之一。

基本情况:半个多世纪以来,学校已从建校之初的纺织单科院校发展成为以工为主,工、理、管、文等学科协调发展的教育部直属高校。现设有纺织、服装•艺术设计、旭日工商管理、机械工程、信息科学与技术、计算机科学与技术、化学化工与生物工程、材料科学与工程、环境科学与工程、人文、理学、外语12个专业学院,另有国际文化交流学院、继续教育学院、体育部和国际合作办学的东华大学莱佛士国际设计专修学院。学校拥有5个博士后流动站、7个一级学科博士点、24个一级学科硕士点、6个专业学位硕士授权类别、17个工程硕士授权领域、56个本科专业,学科涉及工学、理学等十大学科门类。共有1个一级学科国家重点学科,5个二级学科国家重点学科,1个国家重点(培育)学科,7个上海市重点学科,同时设有12个国家和省部级科研基地,2个国家“111”引智基地以及国家大学科技园。在校学生30000余人,其中本科生近15000人,研究生6000余人,继续教育学历生近5000人,各类留学生4000余人。教职工2300余人,专任教师1200余人,专任教师中,具有博士学位的占54.3%,其中院士8人,千人计划、长江学者(含讲座教授)和国家杰出青年基金获得者等高级职称教师800余名。

教育教学:学校秉承“严谨、勤奋、求实、创新”的优良校风,以“崇德博学、砺志尚实”为校训,推行“以学生的全面发展与成才为中心”的办学理念,致力于培养基础宽厚、实践能力强、具有创新精神和社会责任感的高素质人才。2006年,学校获教育部本科教学水平评估优秀。学校持续深化教育教学改革,对全体学生实行“建立在通识教育基础之上,宽口径、柔性化的专业教育”;对学有余力的学生实施“因材施教,分层次的个性化教育”;并在完善学分制的基础上,推行按专业大类招生、培养的教育模式,学生在校学习1至2年后可在专业大类内自主选择专业(方向)。我校艺术类招生享有与独立设置艺术院校同等的自主权,并获得本科招生自主选拔录取试点。2007年,学校启动“高等学校本科教学质量与教学改革工程”,入选国家教学名师、教学团队、特色专业、实验教学示范中心等国家级项目30余项,获省部级教学成果110余项。学校大力推进大学生创新能力培养,获批“国家大学生创新性实验计划”项目460项。学校被批准为“卓越工程师教育培养计划”高校和“全国工程硕士研究生教育创新院校”,覆盖10个本科专业和6个研究生层次学科领域。近年来,学校有8篇论文入选“全国百篇优秀博士学位论文”,5篇获得提名。在国际大学生程序设计竞赛、美国大学生数模竞赛、世界穿着艺术设计大赛、挑战杯中国大学生创业计划竞赛、全国大学生电子设计竞赛、中央电视台CCTV杯全国模特大赛、上海市发明创造三枪杯竞赛等重大竞赛中多次获得特等奖、金奖或冠军。毕业生就业状况良好,先后获得“全国高等学校毕业生就业工作先进集体”、“2011-2012年度全国毕业生就业典型经验高校”、“上海市促进就业先进集体”等荣誉称号。

学科科研:按照“坚持特色、拓宽基础、加强交叉、按需发展”的学科发展思路,学校学科建设取得了新的进展。2012年,学校7个学科入选上海高校一流学科建设计划。在第三轮全国一级学科评估中,纺织科学与工程学科继续领居第一,实现三连冠;材料科学与工程学科和设计学学科进入全国前20%,其中,设计学列上海高校第一位。工程、化学、材料和物理4个学科入围ESI世界前1%,且排名稳步提升。工科学科领域进入ARWU(上海交通大学设立的大学排行榜)世界大学排名前150强。学校坚持产学研用相结合的办学传统,依托国家和教育部科研基地,加强协同创新,为国家科技攻关、经济发展和社会进步服务。学校连续三年入选“中国高校十大科技进展”连续11年获得19项国家级科技进步奖,纺织类三大检索论文收录总数超过世界其他9所著名纺织院校的总和。2011年,学校国际专利授权数量在高等院校中列第16位。目前,围绕国家发展战略和上海产业布局,学校正努力打造以“纺织”为一体,“材料”和“设计”为两翼的学科发展新格局,加快推进面向行业产业的“纺织产业关键技术协同创新中心”、面向区域发展的“民用航空复合材料协同创新中心”以及以“环东华时尚创意产业集聚区”为载体的时尚创意协同创新中心”建设。此外,学校大批科研成果应用于航天、军事、建筑、环保、新材料等领域,为我国战略武器的研制,神五、神六、神七、神九、神十载人航天工程和“天宫一号”的发射成功做出了贡献。

合作交流:学校重视国际合作与交流,以国际化的办学视野,实施教育国际化战略,与世界100多所知名高校、研究机构及企业建立了良好的合作关系。2010年,学校获批教育部“中非高校20+20合作计划”,为非洲国家培养纺织专业高级专门人才。与加拿大卡尔顿大学、德国劳特林根应用技术大学、日本文化学园等合作举办学位或学历教育项目,其中与日本文化学园合作举办的艺术设计专业本科教育项目于2012年被评为“上海市示范性中外合作办学项目”。与英国爱丁堡大学、美国纽约时装学院、日本文化学园、伦敦艺术大学等国际上著名艺术设计院校达成合作共识,已获教育部批准设立东华大学上海国际时尚创意学院。学校积极争取国家留学基金委公派留学生项目,选拔优秀学生赴国外高水平大学开展联合培养。多年来,学校成功举办了“第83届世界纺织大会”、“先进纤维与聚合物材料国际学术会议” 、“第7届自然计算国际学术会议”、“第8届国际薄膜物理与应用会议”、“第12届亚洲纺织会议”、“全国高分子学术论文报告会”等一系列具有影响力的学术会议,努力开创多层次、多渠道、多形式的国际交流新格局。

Brief introduction

Donghua University, which is committed to building a “high-level university with domestic first-class, international influence and characteristics”, adheres to the development road of “concept, academic and management” with the courage of “accepting all rivers and pursuing excellence”. It is unique among the national key universities of the “211 Project”.

Geographical history: the school is located in Shanghai, China, the three campuses are located in Songjiang District and Changning District, covering an area of nearly 2000 mu, the campus environment is pleasant, it is a “Shanghai Garden Unit”. The school was founded in 1951, when it was called East China Institute of Textile Technology, in 1985, it was renamed China Textile University, and in 1999, it was renamed Donghua University. In 1960, it was designated as a national key university by the Ministry of Education, and it was one of the first universities in China with the right to grant doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s degrees.

Basic situation: for more than half a century, the school has developed from a single textile college at the beginning of its establishment to a university directly under the Ministry of Education with engineering as the main subject and coordinated development of engineering, science, management and liberal arts. There are 12 professional colleges in textile, clothing art and design, rising sun business administration, mechanical engineering, information science and technology, computer science and technology, chemical and chemical engineering and biological engineering, material science and engineering, environmental science and engineering, humanities, science and foreign languages, as well as the School of International Cultural Exchange, the School of continuing Education, the Ministry of physical Education and the Raffles International Design College of Donghua University. There are more than 30000 students, including nearly 15000 undergraduate students, more than 6000 graduate students, nearly 5000 students with continuing education qualifications and more than 4000 foreign students of all kinds. There are more than 2300 faculty members and more than 1200 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 54.3% have doctoral degrees, including 8 academicians and more than 800 teachers with senior professional titles such as Thousand talents Plan, Yangtze River scholars (including chair professors) and winners of the National Outstanding Youth Fund.

Education and teaching: adhering to the fine school spirit of “preciseness, diligence, realism and innovation”, the school adheres to the school motto of “advocating morality and erudition”, and carries out the school concept of “centering on students’ all-round development and development”. Committed to training a broad foundation, strong practical ability, innovative spirit and sense of social responsibility of high-quality talents. In 2006, the school was excellent in the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education. The school continues to deepen the education and teaching reform, carrying out “wide-caliber and flexible professional education based on general education” for all students, and “teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and individualized education at different levels” for students who have more than the ability to learn. The school has made great efforts to promote the cultivation of college students’ innovative ability, and has been approved by 460 projects of the “National College students’ innovative Experimental Program”. The school has been approved as the “Outstanding engineer Education and training Program” and “National Engineering Master Education Innovation College”, covering 10 undergraduate majors and 6 graduate-level disciplines. In recent years, 8 papers have been selected as “100 excellent doctoral dissertations in China” and 5 have been nominated. In the international college student programming competition, American college student digital simulation competition, the world dress art design competition, the Challenge Cup Chinese college student business plan competition, the national college student electronic design competition, CCTV Cup national model competition, Shanghai invention and creation three-gun cup competition and other major competitions have won special prizes, gold awards or championships. The employment situation of graduates is good, and they have successively won the honorary titles of “National Advanced Collective in Employment of College graduates”, “National Graduate Employment typical experience University in 2011-12”, “Shanghai Advanced Collective in promoting Employment” and so on.

Discipline scientific research: according to the discipline development idea of “adhering to the characteristics, broadening the foundation, strengthening the intersection, and developing according to the needs”, the discipline construction of the school has made new progress. In 2012, seven disciplines were selected into the first-class discipline construction plan of Shanghai universities. In the third round of national first-tier discipline evaluation, textile science and engineering disciplines continued to take the first place, achieving three consecutive championships; materials science and engineering disciplines and design disciplines entered the top 20 percent of the country, of which design ranked first in Shanghai universities. Engineering, chemistry, materials and physics are among the top 1% of the ESI world, and the ranking has steadily improved. The field of engineering disciplines is among the top 150th universities in the world in ARWU (the ranking of universities established by Shanghai Jiaotong University). The school adheres to the tradition of combining industry, university, research and application, relies on the scientific research base of the state and the Ministry of Education, and strengthens collaborative innovation to serve the country’s scientific and technological research, economic development and social progress. The school has been selected as “Top Ten Scientific and technological Progress of Chinese Universities” for three consecutive years and won 19 national scientific and technological progress awards for 11 years in a row. The total number of three major textile retrieval papers collected is more than the sum of the other 9 famous textile colleges and universities in the world. In 2011, the number of international patents granted by the school ranked 16th among colleges and universities. At present, centering on the national development strategy and the industrial layout of Shanghai, the school is working hard to create a new pattern of discipline development with “textile” as one and “material” and “design” as its two wings. Speed up the promotion of the industry-oriented “Textile Industry key Technology Collaborative Innovation Center”, the “Civil Aviation Composite material Collaborative Innovation Center” for regional development, and the “Huandonghua Fashion Creative Industry agglomeration area” as the carrier “Fashion Creative Collaborative Innovation Center” construction. In addition, a large number of scientific research achievements of the school have been applied to aerospace, military, construction, environmental protection, new materials and other fields for the development of China’s strategic weapons. Shenzhou V, Shenzhou VI, Shenzhou VII, Shenjiu, Shenzhou 10 manned space project and the successful launch of Tiangong 1 have made contributions.

Cooperation and exchange: the school attaches importance to international cooperation and exchanges, implements the strategy of internationalization of education from the perspective of internationalization, and has established good cooperative relations with more than 100 well-known universities, research institutions and enterprises in the world. In 2010, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education’s “20-20 Cooperation Plan for Chinese and African Universities” to train senior textile professionals for African countries. Hold degree or diploma education programs in cooperation with Carlton University in Canada, Lautringen University of Applied Technology in Germany, Japanese Culture Park, etc. Among them, the undergraduate education project majoring in art and design organized in cooperation with the Japanese Culture Park was awarded as the “Shanghai demonstration Sino-Foreign Cooperative School Project” in 2012. It has reached a consensus of cooperation with famous international art and design colleges such as the University of Edinburgh, the Fashion Institute of New York, the Japanese Culture Park and the London University of Art, and has been approved by the Ministry of Education to establish the Shanghai International Fashion and Creative College of Donghua University. The school actively strives for the overseas student program sent by the CSC to select outstanding students to carry out joint training in high-level universities abroad. Over the years, the school has successfully held a series of influential academic conferences, such as the 83rd World Textile Congress, the International Conference on Advanced Fiber and Polymer Materials, the 7th International Conference on Natural Computing, the 8th International Conference on thin Film Physics and applications, the 12th Asian Textile Conference and the National Polymer academic papers Conference.
