  广西大学创办于1928年,开启广西高等教育之先河,首任校长是被教育界称为“北蔡南马”的马君武博士。在90余年的办学历程中,广西大学始终秉持“勤恳朴诚、厚学致新”校训,积累沉淀出鲜明的办学特色、深厚的人文底蕴,形成独特的西大精神。学校先后被列入国家“211工程”建设高校、“中西部高校提升综合实力计划”建设高校、“世界一流学科”建设高校、“部区合建”高校等行列,成为广西办学历史悠久、规模较大的综合性研究型学。

  学校于1978年开始招收硕士研究生,1998年获批博士学位授权单位,2015年6月恢复成立研究生院。现已建立完整的全日制博士研究生、学术学位与专业学位硕士研究生、非全日制专业学位硕士研究生的教育培养体系。目前,我校拥有17个一级学科博士学位授权点、37个一级学科硕士学位授权点、26个专业硕士学位授权类别,涵盖哲学、经济学、法学、文学、理学、工学、农学、管理学八大学科门类。

  截至2019年12月,我校在校研究生人数11239人,其中博士研究生896人,全日制硕士研究生8585人,非全日制硕士研究生1758人。我校专任教师1899人,其中教授520人,占比27.4%。师资队伍中院士1人、双聘院士5人、“973”项目首席科学家1人、“万人计划”领军人才6人、教育部“长江学者”特聘教授6人、国家“杰出青年基金”获得者4人、其他高层次专家50余人。近年来我校不断加大高水平人才引进力度,师资队伍日益壮大,为我校研究生培养提供了有力保障。

  学校现有1个“世界一流”建设学科、2个“部区合建”一流学科群,10个博士后科研流动站。拥有1个国家重点实验室、1个省部共建国家重点实验室培育基地和1个国家级国际科技合作基地,1个省部共建协同创新中心,20余个省部级重大科技创新基地、重点实验室、工程技术研究中心、农业良种培育心。日益增强、不断完善的学科与科研平台为我校研究生培养提供了坚强后盾。

  自1978年开启研究生教育以来,广西大学研究生教育在社会各界的关怀下不断发展壮大,学科门类逐步增加、培养层次更多元化、研究生培养条件不断改善、导师队伍整体实力日益增强、研究生培养体制机制日臻完善、研究生学术交流渠道不断丰富、研究生学位授予水平和培养质量不断提高。培养了一大批如陈武主席、韩斌院士等活跃在党政、教育、科技、企业等领域的杰出才。

  根据学校“建设成为布局合理、特色鲜明的一流综合性研究型学”和“双一流”的建设战略目标,研究生院以培养国家、广西经济社会发展需要的高端人才,提高研究生培养质量为核心工作,围绕着研究生的招考、研究生过程培养、研究生学位授予、学位点建设、研究生信息化管理等开展工作。通过不断完善教育管理制度,完善研究生教育质量保障体系,完善分层分类培养体系,深化研究生教育综合改革,深入贯彻“以师生为中心”的服务理念,在提高研究生人才培养质量的同时,提升部门服务质量,发挥管理育人、服务育人使命,努力提升广西大学学位与研究生教育发展水平。

Guangxi University was founded in 1928, which opened the beginning of higher education in Guangxi. The first president was Dr. Ma Junwu, who was called ldquo; North Cai Nanma & rdquo; by the educational circles. In the course of running a school for more than 90 years, Guangxi University has always adhered to the motto of ldquo; & rdquo;, which has accumulated and precipitated distinct school characteristics, profound humanistic heritage, and formed a unique spirit of Western University. The school has been listed in the ranks of national & ldquo;211 project & rdquo; construction university, & ldquo; central and western university promotion comprehensive strength plan & rdquo; construction university, & ldquo; world-class discipline & rdquo; construction university, & ldquo; department co-construction & rdquo; university and so on. It has become a comprehensive research school with a long history and large scale in Guangxi.

The school began to enroll postgraduates in 1978, approved doctoral degree authorization units in 1998, and resumed the establishment of a graduate school in June 2015. A complete education and training system for full-time doctoral students, academic and professional degree postgraduates and part-time professional degree postgraduates has been established. At present, our school has 17 first-tier discipline doctorate authorization points, 37 first-tier discipline master’s degree authorization points, and 26 professional master’s degree authorization categories, covering philosophy, economics, law, literature, science, engineering, agronomy and management.

As of December 2019, there are 11239 postgraduates in our school, including 896 doctoral students, 8585 full-time postgraduates and 1758 part-time postgraduates. There are 1899 full-time teachers in our school, of which 520 are professors, accounting for 27.4%. In the teaching staff, there are 1 academician, 5 double academicians, 1 chief scientist of & ldquo;973” project, 6 leading talents of & ldquo; ten thousand talents plan & rdquo;, 6 special professors of Ministry of Education & ldquo; Changjiang Scholars & rdquo;, 4 winners of National & ldquo; Outstanding Youth Fund & rdquo;, and more than 50 other high-level experts. In recent years, our school continues to increase the introduction of high-level talents, and the contingent of teachers is growing day by day, which provides a strong guarantee for the training of graduate students in our school.

The school now has 1 & ldquo; world-class & rdquo; construction discipline, 2 & ldquo; department co-construction & rdquo; first-class discipline group, and 10 postdoctoral research mobile stations. It has 1 national key laboratory, 1 provincial and ministerial-level national key laboratory cultivation base and 1 national international scientific and technological cooperation base, 1 provincial and ministerial-level collaborative innovation center, more than 20 provincial and ministerial-level major scientific and technological innovation bases, key laboratories, engineering and technology research centers, and the cultivation heart of improved agricultural varieties. The increasingly strengthening and improving discipline and scientific research platform provides a strong backing for the training of graduate students in our university.

Since the start of postgraduate education in 1978, postgraduate education in Guangxi University has been developing and growing under the care of all sectors of the society. the categories of disciplines are gradually increasing, the training levels are more diversified, the training conditions of postgraduates are constantly improving, the overall strength of the team of mentors is increasing, the training system and mechanism of postgraduates are becoming more and more perfect, the channels of academic exchanges for postgraduates are constantly enriching, and the level of awarding degrees and training quality of postgraduates are constantly improving. He has trained a large number of outstanding talents, such as Chairman Chen Wu and Academician Han Bin, who are active in the fields of party and government, education, science and technology, and enterprises.
