北京工业大学研究生院介绍

北京工业大学研究生院(英文：Beijing University of Technology Graduate
School)简称北工大研究生院，拥有博士生招生学院和硕士生招生学院两个机构。学校1981年成为中国教育部批准的第一批硕士学位授予单位，1985年成为博士学位授予单位。1996年12月学校通过国家“211工程”预审，正式跨入国家二十一世纪重点建设的百所大学的行列。

学位授权

学校现有16个一级学科博士学位授权点，68个二级学科博士学位授权点，28个一级学科硕士学位授权点，142个二级学科硕士学位授权点，涉及哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、理学、工学、管理学等8个学科门类;15个博士后科研流动站;工程、工商管理、建筑学、应用统计、国际商务、工程管理等6个专业学位硕士培养类别;47个本科专业。

教师队伍

截至2014年4月，学校有教职工3000余人，其中专任教师1500余人。教师中有全职两院院士6人，博士生导师222人，正高级职称人员315人。在校生30000余人，其中研究生9600人，全日制本科生12000余人，继续教育本科生8000余人。
建校50年来，北京工业大学已为北京经济和社会发展的各个领域培养了10万余名学生(其中硕士、博士研究生1万余人)，他们在各条战线上发挥着骨干作用。

办学思想

进入新世纪的北京工业大学已向教学、科研、服务三者并重的方向有了大的发展。学校依据“立足北京、融入北京、辐射全国、面向世界”的办学指导思想，确立了“科学定位、找准目标、办出特色、发挥优势”的十六字方针，紧密围绕北京市重点发展的电子信息、生物工程及新医药、光机电一体化、新材料、环境保护与资源、城市建设与管理等高新技术支柱产业及相关行业的需求，对学科结构进行了大幅度的调整与优化，形成了“纵横”交错的学科体系。

School, referred to as the Graduate School of Beijing University of Technology, has two institutions: doctoral College and Master’s College. The school became the first batch of master’s degree awarding units approved by the Ministry of Education of China in 1981 and doctoral degree awarding units in 1985. In December 1996, the school passed the pre-examination of the national “211 Project” and formally entered the ranks of the 100 key universities built by the country in the 21 century.

Degree authorization

At present, the school has 16 first-tier discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 68 second-tier discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 28 first-tier discipline master degree authorization points and 142 second-tier discipline master degree authorization points. it involves 8 disciplines, such as philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, science, engineering and management, and 15 postdoctoral research stations. There are 6 master’s degrees in engineering, business administration, architecture, applied statistics, international business and engineering management, and 47 undergraduate majors.

Teaching staff

As of April 2014, the school has more than 3000 staff, including more than 1500 full-time teachers. Among the teachers, there are 6 full-time academicians of the two academies, 222 doctoral supervisors and 315 senior professional titles. There are more than 30000 students, including 9600 graduate students, more than 12000 full-time undergraduates and more than 8000 undergraduates in continuing education.

Since its establishment 50 years ago, Beijing University of Technology has trained more than 100000 students (including more than 10, 000 master’s and doctoral students) in various fields of Beijing’s economic and social development, who play a backbone role on all fronts.

School-running thought

In the new century, Beijing University of Technology has made great progress in the direction of equal emphasis on teaching, scientific research and service. According to the guiding ideology of “based on Beijing, integrating into Beijing, radiating the whole country and facing the world”, the school has established the 16-character policy of “scientific positioning, finding the right goal, developing its characteristics and giving full play to its advantages”. Closely centering on the needs of Beijing’s key high-tech pillar industries and related industries, such as electronic information, bioengineering and new medicine, opto-mechatronics, new materials, environmental protection and resources, urban construction and management, the discipline structure has been greatly adjusted and optimized, and a “vertical and horizontal” discipline system has been formed.
