厦门华厦学院

厦门华厦学院是教育部批准设立的本科层次的普通高校，是一所有着20多年办学历史、特色鲜明、社会声誉良好的应用技术大学。学校地处著名海上花园城市——厦门，毗邻沿海高铁枢纽站——厦门北站，人流、物流、商流、信息流汇聚。

学校于1993年由厦门市原政协主席蔡望怀等知名人士集社会力量捐资创办。创办伊始，学校董事会就坚持“零回报”办学模式，董事会成员不取分文酬劳;坚持公益性和非营利性定位，学校法人资产不转移、不分割、不流失，并且建立了风险保障基金，属完全公益性的教育机构。2010年学校成为国家“非营利民办高校办学制度”教育体制改革项目试点院校;2013年学校成为首批全国非营利性民办高等学校联盟成员;2014年教育部批准在厦门华厦职业学院基础上筹建本科层次厦门华厦学院，2015年4月28日正式批准设立。

学校实行董事会领导下的院长负责制。现任院长为王小如教授，系1988年首批留美归国博士，博士生导师，曾任厦门大学副校长、教育部科技委副主任和国家863计划海洋监测技术主题专家等职务。

办学条件与规模

学校校园占地面积602.97亩，建筑面积18.65万平方米，是一个集教学楼、实验室、图书馆、后勤服务楼、行政办公楼和体育运动场于一体的现代化校园。学校教学科研仪器设备总值6672.18万元，图书馆面积1.71万平方米，纸质图书68.60万册，拥有电子图书折合74.90万册，可用数据库资源62个，实训中心面积5.59万平方米，校内实验(实训)室127个，校外实习基地115个，工学专业教学实习工厂4个。

学科专业与定位

学校设有检验科学与技术系、信息与机电工程系、财会金融系、商贸管理系、商务外语系、人文创意系、健康管理系等7个系。学校目前拥有43个本、专科招生专业，根据福建省和厦门市规划，以区域支柱产业和战略性新兴产业为导向，形成了以工学为主、管理学为辅的学科专业发展原则，不断形成了以检验技术、信息技术等本科学科专业群为重点的学科专业构架。专业特色明显、服务民生的应用技术专业群有一定优势。

师资队伍与建设

学校以科研创新平台为依托，加大力度引进和培养学科专业建设带头人和中青年优秀人才，不断优化年龄结构、学缘结构、职称结构，一批年富力强、具有高学历、高职称或海外留学背景的教师担当学术领军人物和教学、管理骨干，形成了合理的学术梯队和专业教学团队，进一步提升了应用技术型人才培养的能力。

学校现有专任教师315人，生师比16.26∶1，副高级专业技术职务以上的专任教师125人，占专任教师的39.68%;具有硕士以上学位专任教师148人，占专任教师总数的46.98%;“双师型”教师150人，占专任教师的47.62%。兼职教师82人，约为专任教师的26.03%，主要是来自行业、企业、高校的管理人员、专业技术人员和高技能人才。

人才培养与特色

学校以“勤学、修德、明辨、笃实”为校训，切实贯彻“校企合作，产教融合”的办学理念，打造“自然、人文、和谐、简约”的绿色校园文化，不断创新人才培养模式，深化产教融合、校企合作，在应用型人才培养方面进行了积极探索。学校成功入选教育部-中兴通讯ICT产教融合创新基地项目首批合作院校，与中兴通讯股份有限公司合作共建中兴通讯学院，共办通信工程等专业;与微软公司共建华厦微软IT学院;与北京超星集团共建华厦数字教学媒体中心;与厦门市物流协会共同成立厦门物流人才平台——厦门市物流校企合作服务中心;与厦门市环境监测中心站合作开展空气污染物网格监测;与中国科学院地球环境研究所联合建设大气环境研究中心;与台湾慈济技术学院合作共建社区康复专业。

学校积极响应国家发展众创空间、推进大众创业的指导意见，以培养具有创新能力、创业精神、创业素质的应用型人才为目标，选拔有兴趣的本科学生组建创新创业班，并设立专项创新创业基金，配备专业指导教师，从各方面支持学生团队自主创业。同时，为支持学生创新创业发展，学校划拨近1000平方米教学实践用地，引进中国移动、中国人寿、顺丰速运、向阳坊等知名企业，共建校企创业培育基地。

学校招生情况一直保持良好且呈逐年攀升态势。近三年的考生报考率都远超100%，新生报到率近90%，招生总体位居全省民办高职院校第一，全省高职院校前列。近三年毕业生平均就业率超过98%。办学以来已累计为社会输送毕业生近20000名，人才培养质量广受社会肯定。

近三年，学校学生获得市级以上个人和集体表彰391人次(项)。其中，在福建省高职技能竞赛中获得一等奖10个，二等奖20个，三等奖37个，总成绩位居福建省同类院校前列。尤其是，2012年、2013年、2014年，连续在国家级技能竞赛中获得国家级二等奖3项，三等奖2项。

科学研究与应用

学校以服务区域经济发展为目标，积极开展科研创新平台建设和社会服务。建有教育部-中兴通讯ICT产教融合创新基地;中国科学院地球环境研究所“华厦学院大气环境研究中心”;福建省科技厅“福建省产品质量和食品安全检测试剂与仪器工程技术研究中心”;厦门科技局“厦门市应用技术研究院”、“厦门市食品药品重点实验室”、“厦门市环境监测工程技术研究中心”;厦门市教育局“厦门市高校物流专业师资培训基地”、“教育信息化推广中心”;中国物流学会产学研基地。承担国家教育部职业教育与成人教育司“基于教育与培训融通的养老服务业人才培养研究与实践”项目子课题“营养与膳食”课题研究等工作。

境外交流与合作

学校坚持“走出去、请进来”的方针，积极与海内外高校开展交流合作，与美国伊利诺伊中心学院、美国阿肯色大学小石城分校、台中科技大学、台湾勤益科技大学、台北城市科技大学、台湾修平科技大学、慈济技术学院等高校签订交流合作协议，互换教师、学生，引进境外优质教育资源。近几年，学校选送了50余名学生前往美国、中国台湾等高校交流学习。

Xiamen Huaxia College is an ordinary university at the undergraduate level approved by the Ministry of Education. It is an applied technology university with more than 20 years of running history, distinctive features and good social reputation. The school is located in the famous maritime garden city-Xiamen, adjacent to the coastal high-speed rail hub-Xiamen North Railway Station, the flow of people, logistics, business flow, information flow converge.

The school was founded in 1993 by celebrities such as Cai Wanghuai, former chairman of the Chinese people’s political Consultative Conference in Xiamen. At the beginning of its establishment, the school board of directors adhered to the “zero return” mode of running a school, and the members of the board of directors were not paid for anything; adhered to the orientation of public welfare and non-profit, the assets of the school legal person were not transferred, divided, and not lost, and a risk protection fund was established. It is a completely public welfare educational institution. In 2010, the school became the pilot school of the national “non-profit private university school-running system” education system reform project; in 2013, the school became the first member of the national alliance of non-profit private colleges and universities; in 2014, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of Xiamen Huaxia College at the undergraduate level on the basis of Xiamen Huaxia Vocational College, which was formally approved on April 28, 2015.

The school implements the dean responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors. The current dean is Professor Wang Xiaoru, the first batch of doctoral supervisors and doctoral supervisors who returned to the United States in 1988. He has served as vice president of Xiamen University, deputy director of the Science and Technology Commission of the Ministry of Education, and ocean monitoring technology subject expert of the National 863 Program.

The school has 7 departments, including Department of Laboratory Science and Technology, Department of Information and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Finance, Department of Business and Trade Management, Department of Business Foreign languages, Department of Humanities and creativity, Department of Health Management. At present, the school has 43 undergraduate and junior college enrollment specialties. according to the planning of Fujian Province and Xiamen, under the guidance of regional pillar industries and strategic emerging industries, the school has formed the principle of discipline and professional development based on engineering and supplemented by management. it has continuously formed a discipline and professional framework focusing on undergraduate discipline groups such as inspection technology and information technology. The applied technology professional group with obvious professional characteristics and serving the people’s livelihood has certain advantages.

Teaching staff and Construction

Relying on the scientific research and innovation platform, the school has made greater efforts to introduce and train discipline construction leaders and young and middle-aged talents, and constantly optimize the age structure, academic structure and professional title structure. a group of teachers with high academic qualifications, high professional titles or overseas study background act as academic leaders and backbone of teaching and management, forming a reasonable academic echelon and professional teaching team. The ability of training applied technology talents has been further improved.

The school now has 315 full-time teachers, with a student-teacher ratio of 16.26 to 1, 125 full-time teachers with deputy senior professional and technical posts or above, accounting for 39.68% of full-time teachers, 148 full-time teachers with master’s degree or above, accounting for 46.98% of the total number of full-time teachers, and 150 “double-qualified” teachers, accounting for 47.62% of full-time teachers. There are 82 part-time teachers, accounting for about 26.03% of full-time teachers, mainly from industries, enterprises, university managers, professional and technical personnel and highly skilled personnel.

Talent training and characteristics

The school takes “diligent study, moral cultivation, discernment and truthfulness” as the school motto, earnestly implements the school-running concept of “school-enterprise cooperation, industry-education integration”, creates a “natural, humanistic, harmonious and simple” green campus culture, and constantly innovates the talent training mode. we have deepened the integration of industry and education and the cooperation between schools and enterprises, and actively explored the cultivation of applied talents. The school was successfully selected into the first batch of cooperative schools of the Ministry of Education-ZTE ICT Industry-Education Integration and Innovation Base project, and cooperated with ZTE Corporation to build ZTE College and other majors; with Microsoft Corporation to build Huaxia Microsoft IT College; and with Beijing Super Star Group to build Huaxia Digital Teaching Media Center. Jointly set up Xiamen Logistics Talent platform-Xiamen Logistics School-Enterprise Cooperation Service Center with Xiamen Logistics Association, cooperate with Xiamen Environmental Monitoring Center to carry out grid monitoring of air pollutants, jointly build Atmospheric Environment Research Center with Earth Environment Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and build community rehabilitation major with Taiwan Tzu Chi Institute of Technology.

The school actively responds to the country’s guidance on developing mass innovation space and promoting mass entrepreneurship, with the goal of training applied talents with innovative ability, entrepreneurial spirit and entrepreneurial quality, and selects interested undergraduate students to set up innovative entrepreneurship classes. and set up a special innovation and entrepreneurship fund, equipped with professional instructors to support the student team to start their own business in all aspects. At the same time, in order to support students’ innovation and entrepreneurial development, the school has allocated nearly 1000 square meters of teaching practice land to introduce well-known enterprises such as China Mobile, China Life Insurance, Shunfeng Express and Xiangyangfang to jointly build a school-enterprise entrepreneurship training base.

The enrollment situation of the school has been good and is rising year by year. In the past three years, the examination rate of candidates has far exceeded 100%, and the registration rate of freshmen is nearly 90%. The overall enrollment ranks first in private higher vocational colleges in the province, and is in the forefront of higher vocational colleges in the province. The average employment rate of graduates in the past three years has exceeded 98%. Since running a school, it has delivered nearly 20000 graduates to the society, and the quality of personnel training has been widely recognized by the society.

In the past three years, school students have received 391 individual and collective awards at or above the municipal level. Among them, Fujian higher vocational skills competition won 10 first prize, 20 second prize, 37 third prize, the total score is in the forefront of similar colleges and universities in Fujian Province. In particular, in 2012, 2013 and 2014, we won 3 second prizes and 2 third prizes in consecutive national skill competitions.

Scientific research and application

With the goal of serving regional economic development, the school actively carries out scientific research and innovation platform construction and social services. It has the Ministry of Education-ZTE ICT Industry-Education Integration Innovation Base, the Huaxia College Atmospheric Environment Research Center of the Earth Environment Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Fujian Product quality and Food Safety testing Reagent and instrument Engineering Technology Research Center of the Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology. Xiamen Science and Technology Bureau “Xiamen Applied Technology Research Institute”, “Xiamen key Food and Drug Laboratory”, “Xiamen Environmental Monitoring Engineering Technology Research Center”; Xiamen Education Bureau “Xiamen University Logistics Professional teacher training Base”, “Education Informatization Promotion Center”; China Logistics Society Industry-University-Research Base. To undertake the research on the sub-project “Nutrition and Diet” of the project “Research and practice of personnel training in the Endowment Service Industry based on the Integration of Education and training” by the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education.

Overseas exchanges and cooperation

The school adheres to the policy of “going out, please come in” and actively carries out exchanges and cooperation with universities at home and abroad. It has signed exchange and cooperation agreements with universities such as Illinois Central College, University of Arkansas Little Rock, Taichung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Qinyi University of Science and Technology, Taipei City University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Xiuping University of Science and Technology, and Tzu Chi Institute of Technology to exchange teachers and students and introduce high-quality overseas educational resources. In recent years, the school has sent more than 50 students to the United States, Taiwan and other colleges and universities for exchange and study.
