浙江海洋学院创建于1958年,始名舟山水产学院,1975年更名为浙江水产学院,1998年与舟山师范专科学校合并组建为浙江海洋学院,2000年之后浙江省海洋水产研究所等单位相继并入。近60年来,学校数易校址、历经变迁,积淀形成了“海纳百川、自强不息”的校训精神,现已发展成为一所具有硕士学位授权资格,以海洋为特色,理学、农学、工学、管理学、经济学、文学、历史学等多学科协调发展的省属本科高校。

学校总占地面积1525.63亩,另有海域使用面积720.02亩,校舍建筑面积33.71万平方米,纸质图书102.69万册,教学科研仪器设备资产2.81亿元,各类全日制在校学生10220人。主校区位于浙江舟山群岛新区长峙岛,枕山环海,风景宜人,是求学的理想之地。学校下设海洋科学与技术学院等10个二级学院和浙江省海洋水产研究所、创新应用研究院、东海发展研究院等3个跨学科科研机构。学校举办独立学院——浙江海洋学院东海科学技术学院。

学校顺应高等教育发展形势,全面实施教学质量提升工程,大力培养德、智、体、美全面发展,具有国际视野和海洋精神、具有人文素养和合作竞争意识、具有较强创新创业能力和实践技能的复合型、创业型应用人才。现有本科专业46个,其中国家级特色专业2个(海洋渔业科学与技术、船舶与海洋工程),浙江省优势专业4个(船舶与海洋工程、海洋渔业科学与技术、海洋技术、食品科学与工程),省重点(建设)专业9个(海洋技术、生物科学、海洋渔业科学与技术、食品科学与工程、船舶与海洋工程、机械设计制造及其自动化、电气工程及其自动化、数学与应用数学、行政管理),2014年以农林渔牧食品类第一名成绩在全国“挑战杯”大学生创业大赛中荣获金奖。学生社会实践系列调查报告集《蓝色报告》得到现任国家主席、时任浙江省委书记习近平的来信肯定。“海洋文化”被评为浙江省高校首批校园文化品牌,学校列为国家级大学生创新创业训练计划项目实施高校。毕业生深受用人单位欢迎,就业率保持在95%以上。涌现出中国石油化工集团公司副总经理张海潮、亚洲通讯社社长徐静波、“2010感动中国候选人物”钟杏菊、“浙江骄傲人物”刘凌云、“全国就业创业优秀个人”徐方成、“中国大学生自强之星”段自豪等一批优秀校友。

学校以学科建设为龙头、科学研究为支撑,积极推进协同创新,全面提升科研水平与社会服务能力。“十五”以来,建有11个省级重点学科(海洋科学、海洋渔业科学与技术、水产、船舶与海洋工程、生物化学与分子生物学、水产品加工及贮藏工程、海洋生物医药、油气储运工程、船舶与海洋结构物设计制造、海洋生物学、行政管理),其中省重中之重学科2个(海洋科学、海洋渔业科学与技术)。设有3个一级学科(海洋科学、水产、船舶与海洋工程),15个二级学科硕士点,2个专业硕士学位类别(农业推广、工程),9个硕士专业学位领域,具有同等学力硕士学位授予权。在教育部学位与研究生教育发展中心第三轮学科评估中,学校海洋科学、水产、船舶与海洋工程三大主干学科均取得较好名次,其中海洋科学位列全国同类学科第5名。2014年中国科学评价研究中心公布的研究生教育及学科专业评估显示,学校海洋科学位列全国同类学科前1/4,水产、船舶与海洋工程分列前1/3。

21世纪是海洋世纪,开发海洋,科教先行。国务院批复的《浙江舟山群岛新区发展规划》等明确提出,要在舟山“建设国家级海洋科教基地”,“努力把浙江海洋学院发展为海洋类大学”。当前,学校正围绕建设“海洋强国”和“21世纪海上丝绸之路”战略部署,紧密结合浙江海洋经济发展示范区和浙江舟山群岛新区建设发展需要,坚持特色发展,加强协同创新,推进国际合作,深化综合改革,不断完善大学治理体系,大力实施创新创业教育,加快提升学生竞争力和教师影响力,力争到2025年建成特色鲜明并在国内外具有重要影响的综合性海洋大学,成为我国重要的海洋人才培养基地、海洋科技研发平台、海洋高新技术孵化园区、海洋科技引智载体和海洋人文社科研究中心。

Zhejiang Ocean College was founded in 1958, first named Zhoushan Fisheries College, changed its name to Zhejiang Fisheries College in 1975, merged with Zhoushan normal College in 1998 to form Zhejiang Ocean College, and after 2000, Zhejiang Marine Fisheries Research Institute and other units have been merged. In the past 60 years, the school has changed several locations and experienced changes, and has accumulated the spirit of “accepting all rivers and making continuous self-improvement”. Now it has developed into a university with the authorization of master’s degree, characterized by the ocean. a provincial undergraduate university with the coordinated development of science, agronomy, engineering, management, economics, literature, history and other disciplines.

The school covers a total area of 1525.63 mu, with a sea area of 720.02 mu, a construction area of 337100 square meters, 1.0269 million paper books, 281 million yuan in teaching and research instruments and equipment, and 10220 full-time students of all kinds. The main campus is located in Changzhi Island, Zhoushan Archipelago New District, Zhejiang Province, with pillow mountain surrounded by the sea and pleasant scenery, so it is an ideal place to study. The school consists of 10 secondary colleges, including the College of Marine Science and Technology, and 3 interdisciplinary research institutions, including Zhejiang Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Innovation and Application Research Institute, and East China Sea Development Research Institute. The school holds an independent college– Donghai College of Science and Technology, Zhejiang Ocean University.

The school complies with the situation of the development of higher education, comprehensively implements the teaching quality improvement project, and vigorously trains the all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics. Compound and entrepreneurial application talents with international vision and marine spirit, humanistic literacy and sense of cooperation and competition, strong innovative entrepreneurial ability and practical skills. At present, there are 46 undergraduate majors, including 2 national characteristic majors (marine fishery science and technology, ship and marine engineering) and 4 dominant majors in Zhejiang Province (ship and marine engineering, marine fishery science and technology, marine technology, food science and engineering). Nine provincial key (construction) majors (marine technology, bioscience, marine fishery science and technology, food science and engineering, ship and marine engineering, mechanical design and manufacturing and its automation, electrical engineering and its automation, mathematics and applied mathematics, administration) won the gold medal in the National Challenge Cup College students’ Entrepreneurship Competition in 2014. The Blue report, a series of investigation reports on students’ social practice, was affirmed by a letter from Xi Jinping, the current president and then secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial CPC Committee. “Marine Culture” was rated as the first batch of campus culture brands of colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province, and the school was listed as a national college student innovation and entrepreneurship training program. Graduates are very popular with employers, and the employment rate remains above 95%. With discipline construction as the leader and scientific research as the support, the school actively promotes collaborative innovation and comprehensively improves the level of scientific research and social service ability. Since the 10th five-year Plan, there are 11 provincial key disciplines (marine science, marine fishery science and technology, aquatic products, ships and marine engineering, biochemistry and molecular biology, aquatic product processing and storage engineering, marine biomedicine, oil and gas storage and transportation engineering, design and manufacture of ships and marine structures, marine biology, administration). Among them, 2 are the most important disciplines (marine science, marine fishery science and technology). There are 3 first-level disciplines (marine science, aquatic products, ship and marine engineering), 15 second-level master’s degree programs, 2 professional master’s degree categories (agricultural extension, engineering), and 9 master’s degree areas. have the right to grant a master’s degree with equal academic ability. In the third round of discipline evaluation of the degree and Postgraduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, the school’s three main disciplines, namely, marine science, aquatic products, ship and marine engineering, have all achieved good rankings, among which marine science ranks fifth in the country. The evaluation of postgraduate education and disciplines released by the China Science Evaluation and Research Center in 2014 shows that the school’s marine science ranks in the top 1 of similar disciplines in the country, followed by aquatic products, ships and marine engineering.

The 21st century is the ocean century, the development of the ocean, science and education first.
