荆楚理工学院(Jingchu University of
Technology)位于素有“荆楚门户”之称的历史文化名城荆门，是一所经教育部批准成立的省属本科院校。荆楚理工学院创建于1956年，前身为荆门职业技术学院，2007年更为现名。

师资力量

截至2014年9月，学校有专任教师1000余人，其中教授、副教授等高级职称教师300余人，享受国务院政府特殊津贴2人。

对外交流

截至2014年9月，学校与澳大利亚西澳理工学院、美国荷晶大学、菲律宾亚当森大学、新加坡东亚管理学院、芬兰瓦萨应用科技大学等国外高校建立了校际交流合作关系，开设有中澳电子商务、中澳会计，中美护理等专业。

研究机构

截至2014年9月，学校有省级重点实验室1个，省级人文社科研究基地1个，省级协同创新中心1个，省级研究平台3个，市级研究中心2个，校级实验中心7个。

学术资源

截至2014年9月，馆藏纸质图书105万册，长期定购中外文期刊1800余种;电子图书40万种，电子期刊8000种，声像资料12600片(盘)，数据库总容量达到5TB。

《荆楚理工学院学报》(双月刊)，是首届全国优秀社科学报、全国地方高校优秀学报、全国优秀栏目策划社科学报、全国质量进步社科学报。

Introduction of Jingchu Institute of Technology

Jingchu Institute of Technology (Jingchu University of

Technology) is located in Jingmen, a famous historical and cultural city known as “Jingchu Portal”. It is a provincial undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. Jingchu Institute of Technology, formerly known as Jingmen Vocational and Technical College, was founded in 1956 and became more famous in 2007.

Teachers’ strength

As of September 2014, the school has more than 1000 full-time teachers, including professors, associate professors and other senior professional titles, and 2 enjoy the special allowance of the State Council.

Foreign exchange

As of September 2014, the school has established intercollegiate exchanges and cooperation with foreign universities such as the Western Australian Institute of Technology in Australia, Ho Jing University in the United States, Adamson University in the Philippines, East Asia School of Management in Singapore, and Vasa University of Applied Science and Technology in Finland. There are Sino-Australian e-commerce, Sino-Australian accounting, Sino-American nursing and other majors.

Research institution

As of September 2014, the school has 1 provincial key laboratory, 1 provincial humanities and social science research base, 1 provincial collaborative innovation center, 3 provincial research platforms, 2 municipal research centers and 7 school-level experimental centers.

Academic resources

As of September 2014, the library has a collection of 1.05 million paper books, more than 1800 Chinese and foreign language periodicals, 400000 e-books, 8000 e-periodicals and 12600 audio-visual materials (disks). The total capacity of the database has reached 5TB.

The Journal of Jingchu Institute of Technology (bimonthly) is the first national excellent social science journal, national excellent journals of local universities, national excellent column planning social science journals, and national quality improvement social science journals.
