湖北工程学院

湖北工程学院是由湖北省人民政府举办的普通本科高等院校。学校坐落于武汉城市圈副中心城市——孝感市，距武汉市区50公里，距武汉天河国际机场30公里，京广铁路、京武高铁、京港澳高速、107、316国道穿城而过，交通便利，区位优势明显。

学校办学历史悠久。前身为创办于1943年的湖北省立第三师范学校，历经孝感大学、武师孝感分院、孝感师范高等专科学校、孝感学院几个阶段，先后有湖北职业技术师范专科学校(前身为华农孝感分院)和南方城乡建设学校(孝感市建筑工程学校)整体并入，2011年12月，经教育部批准更名为湖北工程学院，迄今已有72年的办学历史。

学校办学条件良好。校园湖光潋滟，杨柳依依，鸟语花香，环境怡人，是读书治学的理想场所。学校占地面积近1700亩，校舍建筑面积72万平方米，教学科研仪器设备值近1.2亿元，建有完备的公共服务体系。图书馆藏书134万册，电子图书29000GB，期刊2000余种，开通中国学术期刊全文数据库CNKI等六大电子图书资源。国内外公开发行的《湖北工程学院学报》为全国地方高校名刊、“全国百强社科学报”、“中国人文社会科学学报核心期刊”。

学校积极推进“一主两翼多层次开放办学模式”改革。坚持以普通本科教育为主，积极开展研究生教育和成人职业教育，实行多层次、面向社会和国内外开放办学。现设有文学与新闻传播学院、外国语学院、政治与法律学院(马克思主义学院)、美术与设计学院、音乐学院、经济与管理学院、教育与心理学院、国际教育学院、数学与统计学院、物理与电子信息工程学院、化学与材料科学学院、生命科学技术学院(农学院)、计算机与信息科学学院、城市建设学院、体育学院等15个教学学院。举办一所独立学院——湖北工程学院新技术学院。各类注册在籍学生25000人(含新技术学院)。

学校加强校校、校企、校地合作。自2009年以来，武汉大学、华中师范大学和湖北大学先后在学校建立研究生培养基地。学校与孝感市人民政府签署合作框架协议，共建湖北新农村发展研究院，与广水市等建立了校地合作关系。加强产学研合作，与中国航天三江集团等数十家企业签订产学研合作协议。积极开展对外合作交流，先后与英国、美国等国10余所大学签订了交流合作办学协议，开展全日制本专科国际合作办学项目;招收十余国家外国留学生，一批外籍留学生已入校就读。

学校学科门类较齐全，专业特色初显。现建有农业资源与环境、材料科学与工程、教育学、光学工程、植物学等湖北省重点(培育)学科;教育学原理、光学、有机化学、植物学等在建硕士点学科;植物学、有机化学、光学工程、教育学原理、农业资源与环境、植物保护、作物学、材料学、中国现当代文学等“楚天学者”设岗学科。开设65个本科专业，涵盖经济学、法学、教育学、文学、理学、工学、农学、医学、管理学、艺术学
10大学科门类。实行专业建设首席负责制和课程建设教授负责制，农学、园艺专业入选国家首批“卓越农林人才”项目，化学、生物科学、园艺等专业为全国高等学校特色专业，电子信息科学与技术为国家综合改革试点专业，电子信息科学与技术、化学、生物科学、园艺等专业为省级本科品牌专业，材料化学、农学、光电信息技术与工程、土木工程、高分子材料与工程等专业为省级综合改革试点专业;材料化学、光信息科学与技术、农学、自动化、电子信息科学与技术、电子商务等专业为省级战略性新兴(支柱)产业人才培养计划项目。初步建立了工程特色初显，理、工、农结合，文、经、教、管、法、艺、医多学科协调发展，与区域经济社会发展相适应的学科专业体系。

学校师资力量雄厚。现有专任教师1037人(含新技术学院)，获博士及硕士学位教师823人，高级职称教师410人。建有省级教学团队3个、科研创新团队8个，全国模范教师、国务院、省政府特殊津贴获得者、湖北省有突出贡献中青年专家、入选湖北省新世纪高层次人才工程、湖北名师、湖北省优秀教师等23人。聘请十一届全国政协副主席、著名经济学家厉无畏，世界著名计算机学家、美国两院院士、中科院外籍院士姚期智为代表的著名专家学者93人为兼职(客座)教授。常年聘请外籍教师、专家来校任教，选派优秀教师赴国外学习、工作和讲学。

学校各类平台具备较强的教学科研支撑能力。现建有特色果蔬质量安全控制、生物质资源化学与环境生物技术、作物病害监测与安全控制湖北省重点实验室;湖北小城镇发展研究中心、中华孝文化研究中心、湖北小微企业发展研究中心湖北省高校人文社科重点研究基地;湖北省生物质资源转化协同创新中心、湖北新农村发展研究院、湖北省研究生教育创新基地、省级校企共建研发中心建筑防水材料研发中心等省级平台。建有国家级、省级大学生校外实践教学基地3个，电工电子、化学基础课、计算机、生命科学与技术等省级实验教学示范中心，材料化学、光电子信息技术等湖北省虚拟仿真实验教学中心(实验室)。一批平台直接获得中央财政专项资金支持。

学校学风浓郁，人才培养质量不断提高。坚持以人才培养为根本任务，以教育质量为生命线，积极开展多样化人才培养模式改革，为社会培养了10余万名专业基础扎实、实践应用能力强、综合素质好，具有创新精神和社会适应能力的高级专门人才，深受用人单位及社会的好评。近些年来学生考研上线率一直稳定在17%以上。本科毕业生就业率一直稳定在90%以上，学校被评为“湖北省高校毕业生就业工作先进集体”。学生在湖北省本科学士学位论文评选和全国大学生电子设计、大学英语、数学建模、智能模型车、艺术设计等一些重大比赛中屡获佳绩。

学校秉承“严以治学，诚以立身”的校训，坚持实施“人才强校、科技兴校、特色名校、依法治校”四大发展战略，各项事业得到长足发展，社会美誉度明显提高，连续六届被湖北省委、省人民政府授予“最佳文明单位”称号，2015年2月，荣获第四批“全国文明单位”

Hubei Institute of Engineering is an ordinary undergraduate university organized by the people’s Government of Hubei Province. Hubei Provincial third normal School, formerly founded in 1943, has gone through several stages: Xiaogan University, Xiaogan Branch, Xiaogan normal College and Xiaogan College. Hubei Vocational and Technical Teachers College (formerly known as Huanong Xiaogan Branch) and Southern Urban and Rural Construction School (Xiaogan City Architectural Engineering School) were merged as a whole. In December 2011, it was renamed Hubei Engineering College with the approval of the Ministry of Education. So far, it has been running a school for 72 years.

Since 2009, Wuhan University, Central China normal University and Hubei University have successively established graduate training bases in the university. Electronic information science and technology is the national comprehensive reform pilot major, and electronic information science and technology, chemistry, biological science, horticulture and other majors are provincial undergraduate brand majors. The specialties of material chemistry, agronomy, optoelectronic information technology and engineering, civil engineering, polymer materials and engineering are pilot majors of comprehensive reform at the provincial level.
