陕西理工学院

陕西理工学院坐落在中国历史文化名城——汉中市，汉中北倚秦岭、南屏巴山，汉水横贯其间。夏无酷暑，冬无严寒，气候湿润，宜学宜居，素有“汉家发祥地，中华聚宝盆”和“西北小江南”的美誉。

学校创建于1958年，是一所具有50多年办学历史的省属普通高等学校，也是国务院批准的首批具有学士学位授予权的高校之一，是汉中周边陕甘川鄂渝毗邻地区唯一一所具有硕士授予权的高校。先后经历了汉中大学、汉中师范学院与北京大学汉中分校、陕西工学院等发展阶段。2001年经教育部批准，原汉中师范学院与原陕西工学院合并组建陕西理工学院。

学校现有两个校区，校园总面积136.13万平方米，校舍建筑总面积68.49万平方米。现设有16个二级学院和2个教学实训中心。设有65个本科专业。拥有中国语言文学、生物学、机械工程3个一级学科硕士授权点，24个二级学科硕士授权点，3个硕士专业学位授权点。学校现有3个省级重点学科，1个全国人文社会科学普及基地、2个省级重点实验室、1个省级高校哲学社会科学重点研究基地，拥有13个省级研究中心和服务平台。教学科研仪器设备总值2.1亿余元。学校馆藏图书210余万册。

学校现有教职工1669名，其中专任教师1280名，专任教师中具有博士学位261人，具有副高以上职称424人，其中教授132人。现有院士3人(双聘)，国家高端外国专家1人，长江学者特聘教授2人(双聘)，陕西省“百人计划”人才9人、“三五人才工程”入选者2人;国务院特殊津贴获得者，全国优秀教师，曾宪梓教育基金、宝钢优秀教师奖获得者，陕西省先进工作者、优秀教师、教学名师、师德标兵、青年科技新星等40余人。全校共有全日制在校生2.2万余人。

建校以来，陕西理工学院始终坚持全面贯彻党的教育方针，坚持依法治校和从严治教，不断深化改革，强化管理，加强教学基本建设，教学质量稳步提高。特别是近年来，学校凝练办学指导思想，大力实施“教学质量工程”，形成了“扎根秦巴，艰苦创业，服务基层，培养下得去、留得住、干得好的高级应用型人才”的人才培养特色，人才培养质量稳步提高，办学实力显著增强。2007年在教育部组织的本科教学工作水平评估中被评为优秀。现拥有2个国家级特色专业，1个国家级和6个省级专业综合改革试点建设项目，4个省级特色专业，3个省级名牌专业，15门省级精品课程，6个省级实验教学示范中心，5个省级人才培养模式创新实验区，8个省级教学团队，8名省级教学名师，1个国家级和3个省级大学生校外实践教育基地。建校50余年来，学校累计为国家培养了10余万名专业技术人才，其中绝大多数已经成为所在行业、部门或地区的业务骨干、学术带头人和优秀管理人才，受到社会各界的广泛好评。

学校高度重视科学研究与学术交流，始终坚持基础研究与应用研究并重，坚持面向地方经济建设主战场，学科建设和科学研究工作蓬勃发展，建成了学科门类较为完备的学科体系。在学科建设中，学校不断凝炼学科方向、整合学科队伍、合理配置资源、促进交叉融合，逐渐形成了以汉水文化研究为特色的人文社会科学学科群、以秦巴山区自然资源研究与开发利用为特色的理学学科群、以工业应用技术开发研究为特色的工学学科群及其研究方向，建成了一批具有鲜明特色的学科及研究与服务平台。

近五年，学校先后承担国家级科研项目68项，省部级科研项目155项，发表学术论文7575篇，其中被SCI等四大索引收录494篇，出版著作和教材371部，获得授权国家专利1049项;获省部级及以上科研成果奖34项;年均科研经费3918万元;获省级科技创新团队1个。《陕西理工学院学报》为全国优秀期刊。

近年来，学校以“人才队伍建设工程”为抓手，大力引进
“百人计划”、“三秦学者”和国家高端外国专家等高水平人才，积极聘请院士、教育部“长江学者”等知名专家、教授为学校双聘教授，同时启动“千万工程”，大力引进和培养博士，不断提升人才队伍水平。

学校重视国际文化交流。先后与美国、澳大利亚、法国、日本等国家和地区的20余所高校建立并保持合作与交流关系，常年聘请外籍专家及国内外知名学者来校任教、讲学，促进了学校的学术交流与对外融合。

当前，学校以筹建陕西理工大学为契机，深入实施学科建设工程、教学质量工程、人才队伍建设工程、校园建设工程、党建工程与和谐校园建设工程，深化改革，强化管理，全面建设以工程教育和教师教育为重点、多学科协调发展的高水平应用型大学，实现学校建设和事业发展的新突破。

Shaanxi Institute of Technology is located in Hanzhong City, a famous historical and cultural city in China. Hanzhong lies on Qinling Mountains and Nanpingba Mountains in the north, and the Han River runs through it. No heat in summer, no cold in winter, humid climate, suitable to learn and live, known as “the birthplace of the Han family, Chinese treasure basin” and “northwest small Jiangnan” reputation.

Founded in 1958, the school is a provincial ordinary university with a history of more than 50 years, and it is also one of the first batch of universities approved by the State Council to grant bachelor’s degrees. it is the only university with the right to grant a master’s degree in the adjacent area of Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan, Hubei and Chongqing around Hanzhong. It has gone through the development stages of Hanzhong University, Hanzhong normal University, Hanzhong Branch of Peking University, Shaanxi Institute of Technology and so on. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2001, the former Hanzhong normal University merged with the former Shaanxi Institute of Technology to form Shaanxi Institute of Technology.

The school has two campuses, with a total campus area of 1.3613 million square meters and a total school building area of 684900 square meters. There are now 16 secondary colleges and 2 teaching and training centers. There are 65 undergraduate majors. It has three first-tier discipline master authorization points in Chinese language and literature, biology and mechanical engineering, 24 second-level discipline master authorization points, and three master degree authorization points. The school now has 3 provincial key disciplines, 1 national humanities and social sciences popularization base, 2 provincial key laboratories, 1 provincial university philosophy and social science key research base, and 13 provincial research centers and service platforms. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is more than 210 million yuan. The school has a collection of more than 2.1 million books.

The school now has 1669 staff, including 1280 full-time teachers, including 261 full-time teachers with doctoral degrees and 424 professors. At present, there are 3 academicians (double hired), 1 national high-end foreign expert, 2 specially appointed professors of Yangtze River scholars (double hired), 9 talents of “100 talents Plan” in Shaanxi Province and 2 candidates of “third five-year Talent Project”. Winners of special allowance of the State Council, national excellent teachers, Zeng Xianzi Education Fund, winners of Baosteel Outstanding teacher Award, more than 40 advanced workers, excellent teachers, famous teachers, teacher ethics pacesetters and young science and technology stars in Shaanxi Province. There are more than 22000 full-time students in the school.

Since its establishment, Shaanxi Institute of Technology has always adhered to the party’s educational policy, persisted in running the school according to law and strictly administering education, continuously deepened reform, strengthened management, strengthened teaching infrastructure, and steadily improved teaching quality. Especially in recent years, the school has condensed the guiding ideology of running a school and vigorously implemented the “teaching quality project”, which has formed the talent training characteristics of “taking root in Qinba, working hard, serving the grass-roots level, and training advanced applied talents who can go, stay, and do a good job”. The quality of personnel training has been steadily improved, and the strength of running a school has been significantly enhanced. It now has 2 national characteristic specialties, 1 national and 6 provincial professional comprehensive reform pilot construction projects, 4 provincial characteristic specialties, 3 provincial famous brand majors, 15 provincial quality courses, 6 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 5 provincial talent training mode innovation experimental areas, 8 provincial teaching teams, 8 provincial teachers, 1 national and 3 provincial college students off-campus practical education base. Since its establishment more than 50 years ago, the school has trained more than 100,000 professional and technical personnel for the country, most of which have become business backbones, academic leaders and excellent management talents in their industries, departments or regions, which have been widely praised by all walks of life.

The school attaches great importance to scientific research and academic exchanges, always attaches equal importance to basic research and applied research, insists on facing the main battlefield of local economic construction, discipline construction and scientific research work is booming, and has built a relatively complete discipline system. In the discipline construction, the school constantly condenses the discipline direction, integrates the discipline team, allocates resources rationally, and promotes cross-integration. It has gradually formed a humanities and social science discipline group characterized by the study of Han River culture, a science discipline group characterized by the research, development and utilization of natural resources in the Qinba Mountains, and an engineering discipline group characterized by the development and research of industrial applied technology. A number of disciplines and research and service platforms with distinctive characteristics have been built.

In the past five years, the school has undertaken 68 national scientific research projects, 155 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, and published 7575 academic papers, of which 494 have been included by SCI and other four major indexes, published 371 books and teaching materials, 1049 authorized national patents, 34 provincial and ministerial scientific research achievements awards, an average annual scientific research funding of 39.18 million yuan, and a provincial scientific and technological innovation team. The Journal of Shaanxi Institute of Technology is a national excellent journal.

In recent years, the school has made great efforts to introduce the “talent team construction project”.

High-level talents such as the “100 talents Plan”, “Sanqin Scholars” and national high-end foreign experts have actively hired academicians, well-known experts and professors such as “Yangtze River Scholars” of the Ministry of Education to recruit professors for the school, and at the same time launched the “10 million Project”. Vigorously introduce and train doctors, and constantly improve the level of talents.

The school attaches importance to international cultural exchanges. It has successively established and maintained cooperation and exchange relations with more than 20 universities in the United States, Australia, France, Japan and other countries and regions, and year-round invited foreign experts and well-known scholars at home and abroad to teach and give lectures, thus promoting the academic exchanges and integration of the school.

At present, the school takes the opportunity of preparing for the establishment of Shaanxi University of Technology to deeply implement discipline construction projects, teaching quality projects, talent construction projects, campus construction projects, party construction projects and harmonious campus construction projects, deepen reform and strengthen management. we will comprehensively build a high-level applied university focusing on engineering education and teacher education and coordinated development of multi-disciplines, so as to achieve new breakthroughs in school construction and career development.
