西华师范大学

西华师范大学是四川省人民政府举办的全日制重点师范大学，座落在历史文化名城——南充。学校现有北湖校区和华凤校区两个校区，校园占地面积2600余亩，是四川省园林式学校，被誉为“读书的好地方、选才的好去处”。

学校创建于1946年，其诞生与东北大学有直接的历史渊源。1937年抗日战争爆发，东北大学内迁到四川省三台县办学。1945年抗战胜利后，东北大学迁回沈阳,留下的川籍师生，于原校址上创建了私立川北农工学院。1949年，与著名墨学家伍非百先生创立的西山书院合并组建私立川北大学。1950年，学校迁至南充市，与川北文学院合并组建公立川北大学。1952年全国高校院系调整，学校合并川东教育学院(原乡村建设学院)、四川大学和华西大学的部分专业，组建四川师范学院。1956年，因四川行政区划调整，本科专业迁走，学校遂改名为南充师范专科学校。1958年，学校发展为南充师范学院。1989年，学校恢复校名为四川师范学院。2003年4月16日，经教育部批准，学校更名为西华师范大学。

学校先后汇聚了一大批教学名师，著名墨学家伍非百，当代著名学者、古诗词专家郑临川，古代文学专家周虚白、傅平骧，历史学者李炳英，哲学家李耀仙，国际公认大熊猫生态生物学研究的奠基人胡锦矗，生物隐翅虫科分类专家郑发科，数学函数论专家顾永兴，植物分类专家秦自生等为代表的一大批知名专家学者都曾在此教书育人。学校现有教职员工2300余人，具有高级专业技术职称的教师1000余人，具有博士、硕士学位的教师1100余人，有四川省学术和技术带头人16人，享受国务院特殊津贴专家17人，四川省突出贡献的优秀专家16人，教育部新世纪优秀人才5人;有特聘中国工程院院士、国家级突出贡献中青年专家、教育部高等学校教学指导委员会委员、国家社会科学基金项目学科评审组人员和国家自然科学基金评审专家5人;有全国师德先进个人1人，四川省教学名师6人。

学校是一所以师范教育为特色的综合性大学，有文学、历史学、哲学、教育学、理学、工学、农学、管理学、经济学、法学、艺术学等11大学科门类，学科实力和优势突出。学校的生态学、政治学、中国语言文学、历史学、教育学、马克思主义理论、天文学、化学等特色优势学科在业内有重要影响。现有66个本科专业，有全日制本科学生30000余人，硕士研究生3000余人。69年来，学校为社会培养了各级各类人才20余万人，他们在各自的岗位上勤奋工作，为四川及西部地区经济和社会发展作出了重要贡献。

学校高度重视学科建设，是全国首批硕士学位授权单位。现有1个博士后工作站，6个学科联合培养博士研究生，15个一级学科硕士点(涵盖106个二级学科硕士点)，还拥有法律硕士、教育硕士、体育硕士、新闻与传播硕士、工程硕士、农业硕士、公共管理硕士等7个专业硕士授权类别。学校有省级重点学科建设项目9个(重中之重建设项目1个)、省部共建教育部重点实验室和四川省重点实验室2个。组建了“组织修复材料工程技术协同创新中心”、生态科技园区、大学科技园，拥有国家体育总局体育文化研究基地、四川省教育发展研究中心、四川大学生思想政治教育中心、区域文化研究中心和巴基斯坦研究中心等5个哲学社会科学重点研究基地。

学校教学科研成果显著，近五年来，共承担各类教学科研项目1000余项。有国家级“本科教学质量与教学改革项目”69项，其中国家特色专业7个、国家精品课程1门、国家级教学团队1个、国家级卓越农林人才培养计划1项、国家级专业综合改革项目2项、国家级“十二五”规划教材1项、国家精品视频公开课1门、国家级大学生校外实践教育基地1个、国家级大学生创新创业训练项目55项;有四川省“本科教学质量与教学改革项目”200余项;获得国家级、省级教育教学成果奖47项，其中国家级教学成果二等奖3项。承担国家自然科学基金、国家社会科学基金(含重大、重点项目)项目82项，省部级项目150余项;在国内外学术期刊上发表科研论文14000余篇，其中SCI、EI、ISTP三大检索收录论文1540篇，CSSCI、CSCD收录1700余篇;获国家、省政府科研奖79项,其中获国家科技进步二等奖和国家科技进步一等奖共2项。

学校环境优美，学风优良，教学基础设施先进、功能集全，图书馆、资料室现有纸质图书330万余册、电子图书150万余册，教学科研仪器设备总值2.6亿元。

学校注重校地合作，积极为地方社会经济发展提供科研支持和科技创新服务。先后与南充、巴中、广安、达州、雅安等地的党政机关签署了校地合作战略框架协议;充分利用生态学、天文学、政治学、历史学等学科优势，与平武大熊猫国家公园、中科院水生动物研究所和九寨沟白河自然保护区等研究机构搭建了技术研发平台;还就基层民主政治、川陕苏区党史、南部县衙档案整理等方面研究与地方政府进行了深度合作;多次牵头承担了国家林业局大熊猫全国调查研究项目;投资建设了唯一一所由高校建设的50BiN项目中国节点望远镜，并建立了与中国科学院国家天文台、紫荆山天文台等天文学研究机构的科研信息数据共享机制;图书馆面向社会公众免费开放，形成了校地合作的良好局面。

学校坚持开放办学，先后与美国、法国、日本、新加坡、韩国、泰国、哥斯达黎加、玻利维亚、阿根廷和台湾、香港等国家和地区的高等院校或科研机构签订了校际交流合作协议，开展了多项学术交流与合作，进行了互派专家讲学、教师进修和互派留学生的交流活动。学校具有招收长、短期留学生资格，与法国兰斯大学、法国大学科技学院和美国中俄克拉荷马大学等大学开展了联合培养本科生和硕士研究生项目。

Xihua normal University is a full-time key normal university organized by the people’s Government of Sichuan Province, which is located in Nanchong, a famous historical and cultural city. The school has two campuses, Beihu Campus and Huafeng Campus, which covers an area of more than 2600 mu. It is a garden-style school in Sichuan Province and is known as “a good place to study and a good place to select talents”.

The school was founded in 1946, and its birth has a direct historical origin with Northeastern University. When the War of Resistance against Japan broke out in 1937, Northeastern University moved to Santai County, Sichuan Province. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 1945, Northeastern University moved back to Shenyang, leaving behind Sichuan teachers and students to establish a private North Sichuan Institute of Agriculture and Technology on the original campus. In 1949, it merged with Xishan College founded by Mr. Wu Fei-bai, a famous Mohist, to form a private North Sichuan University. In 1950, the school moved to Nanchong City and merged with North Sichuan University of Arts to form a public North Sichuan University. In 1952, colleges and departments of colleges and universities across the country were adjusted, and the school merged some majors of East Sichuan Institute of Education (former College of Rural Construction), Sichuan University and West China University to form Sichuan normal College. In 1956, due to the adjustment of administrative divisions in Sichuan, undergraduate majors moved away, and the school changed its name to Nanchong normal College. In 1958, the school developed into Nanchong normal College. In 1989, the school was reinstated as Sichuan normal College. On April 16, 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school changed its name to Xihua normal University.

The school has gathered a large number of famous teachers, famous Mohist Wu Fei-bai, contemporary famous scholar and ancient poetry expert Zheng Linchuan, ancient literature experts Zhou Xubai and Fu Pingyi, historian Li Bingying, philosopher Li Yaoxian, internationally recognized founder of giant panda ecological biology research Hu Jinchu, biological Staphylinidae taxonomy expert Zheng Fa Ke, mathematical function expert Gu Yongxing. A large number of well-known experts and scholars represented by Qin Zisheng, a plant classification expert, have taught and educated people here. The school now has more than 2300 teaching staff, more than 1000 teachers with senior professional and technical titles, more than 1100 teachers with doctoral and master’s degrees, 16 academic and technical leaders in Sichuan Province, 17 experts enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, 16 outstanding experts who have made outstanding contributions in Sichuan Province, and 5 outstanding talents of the Ministry of Education in the new century. There are specially appointed academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions, members of the Teaching steering Committee of institutions of higher Learning of the Ministry of Education, members of the discipline evaluation team of the National Social Science Foundation and experts of the National Natural Science Fund. there are 1 individual with advanced teachers’ ethics and 6 famous teachers in Sichuan Province.

The school is a comprehensive university characterized by normal education, with 11 disciplines, such as literature, history, philosophy, pedagogy, science, engineering, agronomy, management, economics, law, art and so on. The characteristic and advantageous disciplines of the school, such as ecology, politics, Chinese language and literature, history, pedagogy, Marxist theory, astronomy and chemistry, have an important influence in the industry. There are 66 undergraduate majors, including more than 30000 full-time undergraduate students and more than 3000 postgraduates. Over the past 69 years, the school has trained more than 200,000 talents of all levels and types for the society, who have worked hard in their respective posts and made important contributions to the economic and social development of Sichuan and the western region.

The school attaches great importance to discipline construction and is the first batch of authorized units for master’s degrees in the country. At present, there are 1 postdoctoral workstation, 6 disciplines to jointly train doctoral students, and 15 first-tier discipline master programs (covering 106 second-level discipline master programs). It also has 7 professional master authorized categories, such as Master of Law, Master of Education, Master of physical Education, Master of Journalism and Communication, Master of Engineering, Master of Agriculture, and Master of Public Administration. The school has 9 provincial key discipline construction projects (1 top priority construction project), 2 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education and 2 key laboratories of Sichuan Province. The “Organization and repair material Engineering Technology Synergetic Innovation Center”, the Ecological Science and Technology Park and the University Science and Technology Park have been set up. It has five key philosophy and social science research bases, including the Sports Culture Research Base of the State General Administration of Sports, the Sichuan Education Development Research Center, the Sichuan University ideological and political Education Center, the Regional Culture Research Center and the Pakistan Research Center.

The school has made remarkable achievements in teaching and scientific research. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 1000 teaching and scientific research projects. There are 69 national “undergraduate Teaching quality and Teaching Reform projects”. Among them, there are 7 specialties with national characteristics, 1 national high-quality courses, 1 national teaching team, 1 national excellent agricultural and forestry personnel training plan, 2 national professional comprehensive reform projects, 1 national textbook for the 12th five-year Plan, 1 national high-quality video open course, 1 national college students’ off-campus practical education base, and 55 national college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship training programs. There are more than 200 undergraduate teaching quality and teaching reform projects in Sichuan Province, and won 47 national and provincial education and teaching achievement awards, including 3 second prize of national teaching achievement. Undertake 82 projects of National Natural Science Foundation and National Social Science Foundation (including major and key projects), more than 150 provincial and ministerial projects; publish more than 14000 scientific research papers in domestic and foreign academic journals, including 1540 papers in SCI, EI and ISTP, and more than 1700 in CSSCI and CSCD; won 79 national and provincial government scientific research awards, including 2 national scientific and technological progress second prize and national scientific and technological progress first prize.

The school has a beautiful environment, an excellent style of study, advanced teaching infrastructure and a complete set of functions. the library and reference room have more than 3.3 million paper books and more than 1.5 million e-books, with a total value of 260 million yuan for teaching and scientific research equipment.

The school pays attention to school-land cooperation and actively provides scientific research support and scientific and technological innovation services for local social and economic development. Successively signed strategic framework agreements on school-land cooperation with party and government organs in Nanchong, Bazhong, Guang’an, Dazhou and Ya’an, and made full use of the advantages of ecology, astronomy, political science, history and other disciplines. Pingwu Giant Panda National Park, Institute of Aquatic Animals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Jiuzhaigou Baihe Nature Reserve and other research institutions to build a technology research and development platform He has also conducted in-depth cooperation with the local government on grass-roots democratic politics, the party history of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet area and the archival arrangement of the southern county government, and has led the national investigation and research project on giant pandas of the State Forestry Administration for many times. It has invested in the construction of the only 50BiN project Chinese node telescope built by a university, and established a scientific research information and data sharing mechanism with astronomical research institutions such as the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Zijingshan Observatory, and the library is open to the public free of charge, thus forming a good situation of school-land cooperation.

The school insists on opening up to run a school, and has successively signed inter-school exchange and cooperation agreements with institutions of higher learning or scientific research institutions in the United States, France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Argentina, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions, carried out a number of academic exchanges and cooperation, and carried out exchange activities of sending experts to give lectures, teachers to study and students to study abroad. The school has the qualification of recruiting long-term and short-term students, and has carried out joint undergraduate and postgraduate programs with the University of Reims in France, the School of Science and Technology of the University of France and the University of Oklahoma in the United States.
