西北农林科技大学简介

西北农林科技大学地处中华农耕文明发祥地、国家级农业高新技术产业示范区——陕西杨凌，现为教育部直属全国重点大学，国家“985工程“和“211工程“重点建设高校。现任党委书记梁桂、校长孙其信。

学校前身是创建于1934年的国立西北农林专科学校及后来相继在杨陵建立的相关科教单位。1999年9月，经国务院批准，由原西北农业大学、西北林学院、中国科学院水利部水土保持研究所、水利部西北水利科学研究所、陕西省农业科学院、陕西省林业科学院、陕西省中国科学院西北植物研究所等7所科教单位合并组建为西北农林科技大学。

建校80年来，学校一代代师生秉承“经国本，解民生，尚科学“的办学理念和“诚朴勇毅“的校训，心怀社稷，情系苍生，承远古农神后稷之志，行当代“教民稼穑“之为，坚持走产学研紧密结合的办学道路，为推动我国农业现代化建设和农业科教事业发展做出了突出贡献。

学校在新中国成立前已是一所在国内外具有重要影响的知名大学;上世纪五六十年代，学校事业经历了一个快速的发展阶段，取得了辉煌业绩。合并组建10多年来，学校不断突出产学研紧密结合的办学特色，积极推进和深化科教体制改革，各项事业均实现了历史性跨越式发展，进入了新的发展阶段。

学校是全国农林水学科最为齐备的高等农业院校，现设有23个学院(系、所、部)和研究生院，学科涵盖农、理、工、经、管、文、法、哲、史、医、教育、艺术等12个学科门类。设有65个本科专业，有植物病理学、土壤学、农业水土工程、临床兽医学、果树学、动物遗传育种与繁殖、农业经济管理等7个国家重点学科和作物遗传育种、农业昆虫与害虫防治等2个国家重点(培育)学科，以及25个部省级重点学科;有2个国家重点实验室，1个国家工程实验室，3个国家工程技术研究中心，3个国家野外科学观测研究站，55个省部重点实验室及工程技术研究中心。有13个博士后流动站，16个博士学位授权一级学科，28个硕士学位授权一级学科。

学校现有教职工4466人。其中，教师岗位2147 人
;正高级专业技术人员511人;副高级专业技术人员936人。有两院院士2人，双聘院士11人;国家“千人计划“入选者7人，“长江学者”特聘教授3人、讲座教授3人，国家杰出青年科学基金获得者5人，国家百千万人才工程入选者12人，新世纪优秀人才支持计划入选者71人;陕西省“百人计划”特聘专家18人，学校“特聘教授”8人。

学校从1934年开始招收本科生，1941年开始招收研究生。现有国家级人才培养创新实验区3个;国家级特色专业建设点12个;国家级实验教学示范中心3个。有国家级教学名师2名;国家级教学团队5支;国家级精品课程12门;国家级教学成果奖3项。现有全日制本科生21868人，各类研究生8923人，其中学历研究生7465人。建校近80年来，学校毕业生遍布海内外，为社会累计培养输送本科以上专业人才13万名，有15位校友成为两院院士，为西北乃至全国农业现代化建设及农村经济社会发展做出了重要贡献。

学校始终瞄准高新科技前沿，坚持围绕国家和区域性重大战略需求，积极开展面向农业生产实际的应用基础性和应用性研究，在动植物育种、植物保护、农业生物技术、旱区农业与节水技术、黄土高原水土流失综合治理等研究领域形成鲜明特色和优势。建校以来，学校共累计获得各类科技成果5000余项，获奖成果1800余项。培育出目前世界累计推广面积最大的“碧蚂1号”优良小麦品种，长期主导我国小麦品种换代的远缘杂交小麦良种“小偃6号”，我国自主培育的第一个优良苹果品种“秦冠”等重要科技成果，推广转化直接经济效益累计超过2000亿元。

合校以来，累计获得国家级科技奖励33项，其中主持完成12项;主持完成省部级科技成果一等奖63项;获陕西省科技进步最高成就奖1项。获国家授权发明专利879件;审定动植物新品种409个。发表SCI、EI、SSCI论文9695篇，其中2014年第一署名单位SCI、EI、SSCI论文1598篇。现有8家农、林、水专业一级学会挂靠学校，编辑出版20种学术期刊，建有大学出版社。

学校面向国家和区域主导产业发展需求，积极开展科技成果示范推广和产业化工作。在国内率先探索实践以大学为依托的农业科技推广新模式，在全国首批建设新农村发展研究院。与60多个地方政府或龙头企业建立科技合作关系，在区域主导产业中心地带建立农业科技试验示范站23个、示范基地、专家大院40个，开辟了大学农业科技成果进村入户的快捷通道，累计创造直接经济效益300多亿元。学校科技园暨留学人员创业园进入首批国家级大学科技园。

学校坚持开放式办学，积极拓展国际科技教育合作与交流。先后与世界上141所著名大学或科研机构建立校际合作关系，其中14所大学全球排名前100名。年均1000名国(境)外学者来校开展学术交流。现有“中美水土保持与环境保护研究中心”、“中加旱区农业科技创新中心”10个等国际科技合作平台。“十一五”以来，先后公派1146名学生出国留学。学校具有接收中国政府奖学金来华留学生资格，现有在校外国留学生169人。

学校校园面积5652亩，建筑面积95.67万平方米。固定资产总值31.6亿元，其中教学、科研仪器设备总值10.4亿元人民币，图书馆馆藏印刷本图书234万册，电子本图书110余万种。学校校园布局和谐统一，绿化美化亮化成效显著，自然与人文和谐相融，享有“生态园林式大学城”美誉。

学校的建设与发展备受党和国家的关怀和重视。党和国家领导人胡锦涛、江泽民、吴邦国、温家宝、贾庆林、李长春、乔石、朱镕基、李瑞环、曾庆红、吴官正、罗干、回良玉、刘延东等先后来校视察，李岚清曾7次来杨凌，对学校改革、建设与发展所取得的成绩给予充分肯定和高度评价。

Brief introduction of Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology

Located in Yangling, Shaanxi, the birthplace of Chinese agricultural civilization and national agricultural high-tech industry demonstration zone, Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry is now a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, and the national “985 Project” and “211 Project” are key universities. The predecessor of the school is the National Northwest College of Agriculture and Forestry, which was founded in 1934 and the relevant scientific and educational units later established in Yangling. In September 1999, with the approval of the State Council, the Northwest Agricultural University, the Northwest Forestry College, the Institute of soil and Water Conservation of the Ministry of Water Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Northwest Institute of Water Resources of the Ministry of Water Resources, the Shaanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Shaanxi Academy of Forestry, the Northwest Institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other seven scientific and educational units were merged into Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry.

Over the past 80 years, generations of teachers and students of the school have adhered to the school-running concept of “country-based, understanding of the people’s livelihood, and still scientific” and the school motto of “simplicity and courage”, cherishing the aspirations of the ancient agricultural gods, carrying out the contemporary practice of “teaching the people and crops”, and adhering to the school-running road of close integration of production, learning and research, which has made outstanding contributions to promoting China’s agricultural modernization and the development of agricultural science and education.

Before the founding of New China, the school was already a well-known university with important influence at home and abroad; in the fifties and sixties of the last century, the school experienced a stage of rapid development and made brilliant achievements. Since the merger and establishment of more than 10 years, the school has constantly highlighted the characteristics of close integration of industry, learning and research, actively promoted and deepened the reform of the science and education system, and various undertakings have achieved historic great-leap-forward development and entered a new stage of development.

The school is the most complete agricultural university in China, with 23 colleges (departments, institutes, departments) and graduate schools, covering 12 disciplines, such as agriculture, science, engineering, economics, management, literature, law, philosophy, history, medicine, education, art and so on. There are 65 undergraduate majors, there are 7 national key disciplines, such as plant pathology, soil science, agricultural soil and water engineering, clinical veterinary medicine, fruit tree science, animal genetics, breeding and reproduction, agricultural economic management, and 2 national key disciplines such as crop genetics and breeding, agricultural insects and pest control, and 25 provincial key disciplines. There are 2 state key laboratories, 1 national engineering laboratory, 3 national engineering technology research centers, 3 national field scientific observation and research stations, 55 provincial key laboratories and engineering technology research centers. There are 13 postdoctoral stations, 16 doctoral degrees authorized first-tier disciplines and 28 master’s degrees authorized first-tier disciplines.

The school has 4466 faculty members. Among them, there are 2147 teachers.

The school began to enroll undergraduates in 1934 and graduate students in 1941. At present, there are 3 national innovative experimental zones for talent training, 12 national characteristic specialty construction sites, and 3 national experimental teaching demonstration centers. There are 2 national teachers, 5 national teaching teams, 12 national quality courses and 3 national teaching achievement awards. At present, there are 21868 full-time undergraduates and 8923 graduate students, including 7465 graduate students with academic qualifications. In the past 80 years since the establishment of the school, the graduates of the school have spread all over the world, training and conveying a total of 130000 undergraduate or above professionals for the society, and 15 alumni have become academicians of the two academies. It has made important contributions to the agricultural modernization of the northwest and even the whole country and the economic and social development of rural areas.

The school has always aimed at the forefront of high and new technology, persisted in centering on the major national and regional strategic needs, and actively carried out applied basic and applied research oriented to the practice of agricultural production. it has formed distinctive features and advantages in animal and plant breeding, plant protection, agricultural biotechnology, agriculture and water-saving technology in arid areas, and comprehensive control of soil and water loss on the Loess Plateau. Since the establishment of the school, the school has accumulated more than 5000 scientific and technological achievements and more than 1800 award-winning achievements. At present, it has cultivated the excellent wheat variety “Bili No. 1” with the largest cumulative promotion area in the world, and “Xiaoyan 6”, the improved distant hybrid wheat variety that has dominated the replacement of wheat varieties in China for a long time. Important scientific and technological achievements such as “Qin Guan”, the first excellent apple variety cultivated independently in China, have accumulated direct economic benefits of more than 200 billion yuan.

Since joining the school, it has won a total of 33 national scientific and technological awards, of which 12 have been presided over, 63 provincial and ministerial first-class scientific and technological achievements have been presided over, and 1 has been awarded the highest achievement award for scientific and technological progress in Shaanxi Province. 879 invention patents have been authorized by the state, and 409 new varieties of animals and plants have been approved. 9695 papers on SCI, EI and SSCI were published, of which 1598 were published by SCI, EI and SSCI in 2014. At present, there are 8 first-class societies of agriculture, forestry and water, editing and publishing 20 kinds of academic journals and university publishing houses.

Facing the development needs of national and regional leading industries, the school actively carries out the demonstration, promotion and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements. In China, we took the lead in exploring and practicing the new model of agricultural science and technology extension based on universities, and built the first batch of new rural development research institutes in the country. Establish scientific and technological cooperation with more than 60 local governments or leading enterprises, and set up 23 agricultural science and technology experimental and demonstration stations, demonstration bases and 40 expert courtyards in the center of regional leading industries, opening up a shortcut for university agricultural scientific and technological achievements to enter villages and households, creating a cumulative direct economic benefit of more than 30 billion yuan. School Science and Technology Park and overseas students Entrepreneurship Park entered the first batch of national university science and technology parks.

The school adheres to an open school and actively expands international cooperation and exchanges in science, technology and education. It has successively established inter-university cooperation with 141 famous universities or scientific research institutions in the world, of which 14 universities rank among the top 100 in the world. An average of 1000 foreign scholars come to the school for academic exchanges every year. There are 10 international scientific and technological cooperation platforms, such as “China-US soil and Water Conservation and Environmental Protection Research Center” and “China-Canada Arid Zone Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Center”. Since the Eleventh five-year Plan, 1146 students have been sent to study abroad. The school has the qualification to accept Chinese government scholarships to come to China, and there are 169 foreign students in the school.

The school has a campus area of 5652 mu and a construction area of 956700 square meters. The total value of fixed assets is 3.16 billion yuan, including 1.04 billion yuan for teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment, 2.34 million printed books and more than 1.1 million kinds of electronic books in the library. The school campus layout is harmonious and unified, the greening and beautification has achieved remarkable results, the harmony of nature and humanities is in harmony, and it enjoys the reputation of “ecological garden-style university city”.

The construction and development of the school are concerned and valued by the party and the country. Party and state leaders Hu Jintao, Jiang Zemin, Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Qiao Shi, Zhu Rongji, Li Ruihuan, Zeng Qinghong, Wu Guanzheng, Luo Gan, Hui Liangyu, and Liu Yandong have successively visited the school. Li Lanqing visited Yangling seven times and fully affirmed and spoke highly of the achievements made in the reform, construction and development of the school.

Since its establishment 80 years ago, the school has always adhered to the theme of “agriculture, rural areas and farmers” and adhered to the road of close integration of industry, learning and research. It has developed from a single-disciplinary university dominated by agriculture to a national key university characterized by agriculture and coordinated development of multi-disciplines. At present, according to the new planning goal and strategic thinking of the school, the teachers and students of the school take charge of the overall situation with the scientific concept of development, and are working hard to achieve the strategic goal of “highlighting the characteristics of industry-university-research closely combining school-running characteristics and building a world-class agricultural university”.
