湖北汽车工业学院

湖北汽车工业学院始建于1972年，1983年经国务院批准为普通本科院校，由原中科院学部委员孟少农任首任院长。学校办学特色鲜明，是全国唯一以汽车命名的本科院校。学校于2008年被国家教育部评定为本科教学优秀学校，2011年入选教育部第二批卓越工程师教育培养计划高校，2013年7月被国务院学位委员会批准为硕士学位授予单位。

学校坐落在风景秀丽的汽车城——湖北省十堰市，位于汉水之滨、旅游胜地武当山的北麓,环境幽雅，景色宜人。学校占地面积829亩，建筑面积32.4万平方米，全日制本科在校生8878人，硕士研究生26人。学校具有良好的办学条件，拥有一支结构合理、师德高尚的师资队伍，现有教职工922人，其中教师518人，教师中具有博士和硕士学位的比例为84.7%，教授、副教授比例为37.5%。图书馆馆藏文献丰富，除传统的印刷型文献外，还包括各学科门类的电子出版物。馆藏图书55万余册，电子报纸101种，电子图书100多万种;现代化信息网络系统覆盖全校;教学设备精良，教学科研仪器设备总值1.19亿元。

学校以工为主，工、管、经、文、理、法、艺多学科协调发展。现设有机械工程学院、电气与信息工程学院、材料科学与工程学院、汽车工程学院、经济管理学院、马克思主义学院、外国语学院、理学院、继续教育学院、体育课部等10个教学单位。开设有机械设计制造及其自动化、车辆工程、工商管理等30个本科专业;拥有车辆工程、机械设计制造及其自动化、材料成型及控制工程3个国家级特色专业建设点，教育部“卓越工程师教育培养计划”专业3个，国家级专业综合改革试点专业1个，“湖北省战略性新兴(支柱)产业人才培养计划”专业8个，省级品牌专业4个;省级专业综合改革试点6个，拥有1门国家级精品课程，9门省级精品课程，4门省级精品资源共享课，2门省级精品视频公开课;拥有1个国家级实验教学示范中心(汽车产业实验实训教学中心)，2个国家级工程实践教育中心，1个国家级大学生校外实践教育基地，5个省级实验教学示范中心(含1个省级重点实验教学示范中心)，2个省级虚拟仿真实验教学中心，1个省级大学生创新活动基地，3个省级大学生实习实训基地;现有机械工程、材料科学与工程两个学术型硕士学位授权点;工程管理(MEM)、工程硕士(车辆工程)、工程硕士(电子与通信工程)3个专业型硕士学位授权点。

Hubei Institute of Automotive Industry was founded in 1972 and was approved by the State Council as an ordinary undergraduate university in 1983. Meng Shaonong, a former member of the Department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the first president. The school has distinctive features and is the only undergraduate college named after the car in the country. The school was rated as an excellent undergraduate teaching school by the Ministry of Education in 2008, was selected into the second batch of excellent engineer education programs of the Ministry of Education in 2011, and was approved as a master’s degree awarding unit by the academic degree Committee of the State Council in July 2013.

The school is located in the scenic automobile city-Shiyan City, Hubei Province, located at the northern foot of the Han River and the tourist resort Wudang Mountain, with an elegant environment and pleasant scenery. The school covers an area of 829mu, with a construction area of 324000 square meters, with 8878 full-time undergraduate students and 26 postgraduates. The school has good conditions for running a school, and has a team of teachers with reasonable structure and noble morality. there are 922 teaching staff, including 518 teachers, 84.7% of the teachers have doctoral and master’s degrees, and 37.5% are professors and associate professors. The library is rich in documents, including not only traditional printed documents, but also electronic publications of various disciplines. It has a collection of more than 550000 books, 101 kinds of electronic newspapers and more than 1 million kinds of e-books; the modern information network system covers the whole school; the teaching equipment is excellent, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 119 million yuan.

The school is based on industry, with the coordinated development of engineering, management, economics, liberal arts, science, law and art. There are 10 teaching units, such as School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electrical and Information Engineering, School of material Science and Engineering, School of Automotive Engineering, School of Economics and Management, School of Marxism, Institute of Foreign languages, College of Science, College of continuing Education, physical Education Department and so on. There are 30 undergraduate majors in mechanical design, manufacturing and automation, vehicle engineering, business administration and so on. It has 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center (automobile industry experimental training teaching center), 2 national engineering practical education centers, 1 national college students’ off-campus practical education base, 5 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers (including 1 provincial key experimental teaching demonstration center), 2 provincial virtual simulation experimental teaching centers and 1 provincial college students’ innovation activity base. Three provincial college students’ internship and training bases At present, there are two academic master’s degree authorization points for mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, and three professional master’s degree authorization points for engineering management (MEM), engineering master (vehicle engineering) and engineering master (electronics and communication engineering).
