华北理工大学，坐落在沿海现代化城市、环渤海经济区工业重镇—唐山市;是一所以工、医为主，理、经、管、文、法、艺多学科协调发展，具有留学生教育、研究生教育、本科教育、继续教育等全方位教育层次的省属重点骨干大学。学校为河北省人民政府与国家安全生产监督管理总局、河北省人民政府与国家国防科技工业局共建高校。

百年传承，底蕴深厚

华北理工大学的前身河北联合大学是2010年5月经教育部批准，由原河北理工大学和华北煤炭医学院强强联合组建而成的。河北理工大学前身为创办于1895年的北洋西学学堂矿务学学门，1958年建校，1959年天津大学矿冶系成建制并入，曾沿用唐山矿冶学院、河北矿冶学院、唐山工程技术学院、河北理工学院等校名;华北煤炭医学院前身为创办于1926年的开滦高级护士职业学校，1963年开始本科建制，曾沿用唐山煤矿医学院、河北医学院等校名，是原国家煤炭工业部所属唯一一所本科高等医学院校。合并以来，在省委、省政府和教育厅的大力支持下，学校在学科建设、人才培养、师资队伍建设、科学研究、国际合作、社会服务、整体办学条件和综合服务实力等方面均跨上了一个新的台阶。

师资力量雄厚，办学条件优越

学校现有专业技术人员4168人，其中专任教师2012人，专任教师中具有博士学位的教师500余人，具有副教授、教授职称教师1000余人。学校现有双聘院士、“新世纪百千万人才工程”国家级人选、国务院特殊津贴专家、河北省高端人才、燕赵学者、省管专家等优秀人才100余人。学校有各类全日制在校生52000余人。校园占地2700余亩，建筑面积110多万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值7.51亿元。设有19个职能处室，28个教学单位，4个教辅机构和9个直属单位。学校建有一流的语音教室、多媒体教室、电子阅览室、CAD中心、计算中心、电教中心和网络中心等现代化教学设施。学校图书馆在全省率先引入“RFID图书智能管理系统”，实现了“藏、借、阅、咨、管”一体化服务。学校办有自然科学、医学、社会科学5种期刊，在国内外具有一定影响。学校拥有隶属附属医院和非隶属附属医院20家。

学科设置齐全，专业特色鲜明

现有83个一批、二批本科招生专业，1个博士后流动站，3个博士学位授权一级学科，19个硕士学位授权一级学科，7个专业学位授权类别。拥有10个国家级特色专业;18个国家部委和省确定的重点学科;12个国家部委和省级重点实验室;2个省级协同创新中心;20个市级重点实验室。建有国家安全生产监督管理总局矿山医疗救护中心培训基地、河北省创伤研究所、河北省城乡统筹及一体化发展研究基地。中科院唐山科学发展研究院、唐山市城乡一体化发展研究中心、唐山市院士工作站等机构依托我校建设。

教学成绩突出，教学成果显著

拥有国家和省级教学团队8个、精品课55门、专业综合改革试点9个、实验教学示范中心10个，学校纳入第二批卓越工程师培养计划单位、第一批卓越医生教育培养计划项目试点高校;近年来，获得国家和省级教学成果奖65项。

注重人才培养，学生素质过硬

近年来，学生在国际、国内各类竞赛中获奖励1000余项，其中国家级奖励200余项。学校被教育部评为“2012—2014年度国家级大学生创新创业训练计划实施先进单位”。学校始终坚持服务地方，培养了大量应用型人才，本科教育开展50多年来，共培养10多万名专业技术及管理人才，已成为河北省冶金、矿业、重化工等行业总经理、总工程师的摇篮;全国煤炭行业高级医学人才、职业病防治业务骨干的摇篮。毕业学生以素质高、能力强、作风实、适应社会需求，创业、创新能力强等特点，受到用人单位的一致好评，就业率连续多年达到95%以上，名列省内前茅。

坚持实施科技兴校战略，取得了丰硕成果

近年来，获得国家科技进步二等奖2项、省部级科研奖励85项;承担了国家科技支撑计划、“863”计划、“973”计划、国家科技重大专项、国家国际科技合作专项及国家自然科学基金、国家社科基金等国家级项目171项，年均到款科研经费近亿元;获得专利授权697项，其中发明专利248项。

深化交流合作，国际影响与日俱增

建成“中国—匈牙利”合办的中东欧地区第一所中医孔子学院;是中—匈医学论坛中方承办单位;获教育部批准与德国海德堡应用技术大学合作举办电气工程及其自动化、机械制造及其自动化专业本科项目。先后与加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学、美国马萨诸塞大学等10多个国家的30多所大学建立了实质性合作关系。学校积极开展留学生教育，目前在校留学生200多人。

站在新的历史起点，百年老校焕发出了新的生机

2013年6月，河北省委、省政府做出了将学校整体搬迁曹妃甸唐山湾生态城的重大决定。目前，位于唐山湾生态城的新校园建设如火如荼，届时，一座占地4500亩、教学科研及其他附属用房达100多万平方米、符合国内一流大学硬件条件标准、气势恢弘的现代化大学校园将拔地而起，成为曹妃甸一颗璀璨的明珠。学校将始终秉承“学术并举、崇术重用、依托行业、服务地方”的办学理念，恪守“明德博学、勤奋求实”的校训，实施“特色立校、人才兴校、质量强校”的发展战略，坚持走以提高质量为核心的内涵式发展道路，努力把学校建设成为特色鲜明的高水平综合性大学。

North China University of Technology, located in Tangshan, a modern coastal city and an important industrial town around the Bohai Economic Zone, is a provincial key university with the coordinated development of science, economics, management, liberal arts, law and art, with all-round education levels such as foreign student education, graduate education, undergraduate education, continuing education and so on. Hebei Union University, the predecessor of North China University of Technology, was established by the former Hebei University of Technology and North China Coal Medical College with the approval of the Ministry of Education in May 2010. Hebei University of Technology, formerly known as the Department of Mineralogy of Beiyang Western School, which was founded in 1895, was founded in 1958 and incorporated into the Department of Mining and Metallurgy of Tianjin University in 1959. It has used the names of Tangshan Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Hebei Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Tangshan Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hebei Institute of Technology and so on. North China Coal Medical College, formerly known as Kailuan Senior Nurse Vocational School, which was founded in 1926, began its undergraduate system in 1963 and used the names of Tangshan Coal Mine Medical College and Hebei Medical College. It is the only undergraduate medical college under the former Ministry of Coal Industry. Since the merger, with the strong support of the provincial party committee, the provincial government and the Department of Education, the school has stepped onto a new level in discipline construction, personnel training, teaching staff construction, scientific research, international cooperation, social services, overall school-running conditions and comprehensive service strength.

The school has 4168 professional and technical personnel, including 2012 full-time teachers, more than 500 full-time teachers with doctoral degrees, and more than 1000 teachers with associate professors and professorial titles. It has 10 specialties with national characteristics, 18 key disciplines identified by national ministries and provinces, 12 national ministries and provincial key laboratories, 2 provincial collaborative innovation centers and 20 municipal key laboratories. It has established the training base of the Mine Medical Rescue Center of the State Administration of work Safety, the Trauma Research Institute of Hebei Province, and the research base of urban and rural planning and integrated development in Hebei Province. Tangshan Institute of Scientific Development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tangshan Urban and Rural Integration Development Research Center, Tangshan Academician Workstation and other institutions rely on the construction of our school.

The establishment of the first Confucius Institute of traditional Chinese Medicine in Central and Eastern Europe jointly sponsored by “China-Hungary”; it is the Chinese sponsor of the China-Hungary Medical Forum; approved by the Ministry of Education to cooperate with the University of Applied Technology in Heidelberg to hold undergraduate projects majoring in electrical engineering and automation, mechanical manufacturing and automation. It has established substantial cooperative relations with more than 30 universities in more than 10 countries, including the University of British Columbia in Canada and the University of Massachusetts in the United States. The school actively carries out the education of foreign students, and there are more than 200 foreign students at present.

In June 2013, the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and the Hebei Provincial Government made a major decision to relocate the school as a whole to the Tangshan Bay Ecological City in Caofeidian. At present, the construction of a new campus in Tangshan Bay Ecological City is in full swing. At that time, a modern university campus covering an area of 4500 mu, teaching, scientific research and other ancillary rooms of more than 1 million square meters, in line with the hardware standards of domestic first-class universities, and magnificent momentum will rise from the ground and become a bright pearl in Caofeidian.
