广州大学

广州大学座落在中国历史文化名城、华南经济文化中心和改革开放前沿广州市，位于国内一流大学园区–广州大学城的西南端。学校濒临珠江，三面环水，绿草如茵，环境优美，是陶冶情操、读书治学的好地方。

广州大学是经教育部批准，于2000年由广州师范学院、华南建设学院(西院)、广州教育学院、原广州大学和广州高等师范专科学校等高校合并组建而成的综合性大学。原广州大学(私立)创办于1927年，复办于1983年，原广州教育学院创办于1953年，原广州师范学院创办于1958年，原华南建设学院(西院)创办于1984年，原广州高等师范专科学校创办于1985年。广州大学实行省市共建、以市为主的管理体制。学校于1958年开始招收普通本科生，1983年获硕士学位授予权，2006年获博士学位授予权。

学校办学条件优越，各类基础设施完善。学校现有大学城、桂花岗两个校区，占地面积1880.23亩，建筑面积88万平方米。校本部大学城新校园建有功能齐全、设施先进的教学楼、实验楼、演艺中心、体育馆、图书馆、网络中心和学生公寓。图书馆拥有藏书293.31万册，数字资源容量达30450GB。校园网络系统完善，拥有41381个网络信息点，全面覆盖了教学区、办公区和生活区，数字校园建设初具规模。学校教学科研仪器设备总值达5.58亿元。

学校办学规模较大，学科门类较全。全校现有普通全日制本科生28142人，各类博、硕士研究生3332人。学校现有81个本科专业，涵盖哲学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、经济学、管理学、艺术学十大学科门类，设有27个学院。学校现有3个一级学科博士学位授权点，25个二级学科博士学位授权点，3个博士后科研流动站;26个一级学科硕士学位授权点，95个二级学科硕士学位授权点;另有教育硕士、工程硕士、艺术硕士、法律硕士、会计硕士、社会工作硕士、应用心理硕士、汉语国际教育硕士、体育硕士9个专业硕士学位点，其中工程硕士拥有建筑与土木工程、电子与通信工程、机械工程、化学工程、环境工程、项目管理、计算机技术7个领域。2010年8月，学校被教育部确定为新增开展硕士推免生工作高校。同年10月，广州大学列入教育部首批专业学位综合改革试点单位，在艺术硕士和教育硕士两个专业学位类别进行改革试点。2015年，学校被列入教育部首批研究生课程试点改革单位。学校拥有国家特色专业6个，省市特色专业36个;国家实验教学示范中心1个，省市级实验教学示范中心17个;国家精品课程4门，省级精品课程28门;省部共建国家重点实验室培育基地1个，省部级重点实验室9个，市级重点实验室11个;省重点一级学科54个，市级重点学科14个，6个国家级教学研究基地，28个省市级教学研究基地。学校建筑设计研究院具有国家建筑设计和古建筑设计甲级资质，学校被批准为全国大学英语教学改革示范点和全国大学生文化素质教育基地。

Approved by the Ministry of Education, Guangzhou University is a comprehensive university formed by the merger of Guangzhou normal University, South China Construction College (West College), Guangzhou Institute of Education, former Guangzhou University and Guangzhou normal College in 2000. The former Guangzhou University (private) was founded in 1927 and resumed in 1983, the former Guangzhou Institute of Education was founded in 1953, the former Guangzhou normal College was founded in 1958, the former South China Construction College (West College) was founded in 1984, and the former Guangzhou normal College was founded in 1985. Guangzhou University implements a city-based management system that is jointly built by provinces and cities. The school began to enroll ordinary undergraduates in 1958, granted the right to grant master’s degree in 1983 and doctor’s degree in 2006.

The conditions for running a school are superior and all kinds of infrastructure are perfect. The school has two campuses of University Town and Guihuagang, covering an area of 1880.23 mu and a construction area of 880000 square meters. The new campus of the university town has fully functional and advanced teaching buildings, experimental buildings, performing arts centers, gymnasiums, libraries, network centers and student apartments. The library has a collection of 2.9331 million volumes and has a digital resource capacity of 30450GB. The school has a large scale and a wide range of disciplines. The school now has 28142 full-time undergraduates and 3332 doctoral and postgraduate students of all kinds. The school has 81 undergraduate majors, covering philosophy, law, pedagogy, literature, history, science, engineering, economics, management, art ten disciplines, with 27 colleges. At present, the school has 3 first-tier discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 25 second-tier discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 3 post-doctoral research mobile stations, 26 first-tier discipline master degree authorization points, 95 second-tier discipline master degree authorization points. In addition, there are 9 professional master degrees, including Master of Education, Master of Engineering, Master of Art, Master of Law, Master of Accounting, Master of Social work, Master of Applied Psychology, Master of Chinese International Education, and Master of physical Education. Among them, the Master of Engineering has seven fields: architecture and civil engineering, electronic and communication engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, project management and computer technology. In August 2010, the school was identified by the Ministry of Education as a new university for the promotion and exemption of master’s degree students. In October of the same year, Guangzhou University was included in the Ministry of Education’s first batch of pilot units for comprehensive reform of professional degrees, and pilot reforms were carried out in two categories of professional degrees, Master of Arts and Master of Education. In 2015, the school was listed as the first batch of pilot graduate curriculum reform units of the Ministry of Education. The school has 6 specialties with national characteristics, 36 specialties with provincial and municipal characteristics, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 17 provincial and municipal experimental teaching demonstration centers, 4 national high-quality courses and 28 provincial high-quality courses. provinces and ministries jointly build a training base for national key laboratories, 9 provincial and ministerial key laboratories and 11 municipal key laboratories.
