天津理工大学

天津理工大学是一所以工为主，工理结合，工、理、管、文、艺等学科协调发展的多科性大学。学校前身为天津理工学院，于1979年以天津理工分校名义开始招收本科生，1981年经国务院批准正式设立。1996年，原天津理工学院与原天津大学分校、天津大学机电分校、天津大学冶金分校三所本科院校合并，组建成新的天津理工学院。经教育部批准，2004年更名为天津理工大学。

学校坐落于天津市西青区宾水西道391号，总占地面积156.7万平方米、建筑面积69.3万平方米。本科以上全日制在校生26313人。现有专业学院17个，还设有继续教育学院、工程训练中心、体育教学部、信息技术研究所等机构。现有本科专业62个、一级学科硕士点15个、二级学科硕士点69个、一级学科博士点3个、一级学科博士后科研流动站2个。四种专业学位类别，分别为工程硕士、翻译硕士、社会工作硕士、工程管理硕士，其中工程硕士学位授权领域13个、翻译硕士专业学位授予权2个。7个一级学科(计算机科学与技术、材料科学与工程、管理科学与工程、电子科学与技术、化学工程与技术、控制科学与工程、电气工程)被评为天津市重点学科，一个学科(软件工程)被列入重点培育学科。

Tianjin University of Technology is a multidisciplinary university which focuses on engineering, combines science and technology, and develops harmoniously in engineering, science, management, liberal arts, art and other disciplines. The school, formerly known as Tianjin Institute of Technology, began to enroll undergraduates in the name of Tianjin Institute of Technology in 1979 and was formally established with the approval of the State Council in 1981. In 1996, the former Tianjin Institute of Technology merged with the former Tianjin University Branch, Tianjin University Mechanical and Electrical Branch and Tianjin University Metallurgical Branch to form a new Tianjin Institute of Technology. With the approval of the Ministry of Education, it changed its name to Tianjin University of Technology in 2004.

The school is located at No. 391 Binshui West Road, Xiqing District, Tianjin, with a total area of 1.567 million square meters and a construction area of 693000 square meters. There are 26313 full-time undergraduate students or above. At present, there are 17 professional colleges, including the College of continuing Education, the Engineering training Center, the Department of physical Education, the Institute of Information Technology and other institutions. At present, there are 62 undergraduate majors, 15 master programs in first-tier disciplines, 69 master programs in second-tier disciplines, 3 doctoral programs in first-tier disciplines, and 2 postdoctoral research stations in first-tier disciplines. There are four kinds of professional degrees, namely, Master of Engineering, Master of Translation, Master of Social work and Master of Engineering Management, including 13 authorized fields of Master of Engineering degree and 2 rights to grant professional degree of Translation Master. Seven first-tier disciplines (computer science and technology, material science and engineering, management science and engineering, electronic science and technology, chemical engineering and technology, control science and engineering, electrical engineering) were rated as key disciplines in Tianjin. one discipline (software engineering) is listed as a key training discipline.
