武汉工程大学

武汉工程大学创建于1972年6月，原名湖北化工石油学院，隶属湖北省。1980年3月，经教育部批准，更名为武汉化工学院，改由原化工部主管。1998年7月，随着高校管理体制的调整，学校划转到湖北省管理，实行中央与地方共建，以湖北省管理为主。同年，学校通过教育部本科教学合格评价，并获得硕士学位授予权。2006年2月，经教育部同意、湖北省人民政府批准，正式更名为武汉工程大学。2006年以优秀的成绩通过教育部对我校本科教学工作水平的评估。2012年学校入选中西部高校基础能力建设工程(小211工程)。2013年学校被国务院学位委员会确定为博士学位授予单位。

经过40多年的建设，学校已由单一的工科院校发展成为一所办学条件较好、实力较强、水平较高、特色鲜明的教学研究型大学。

层次规模

学校现有本科教育、专科教育、国际教育及研究生教育，具有学士、硕士、博士学位授予权。学校面向全国31个省、自治区、直辖市招生。目前，全日制在校生21933人，其中研究生1728人，普通本科生19215人，普通专科生976人，留学生14人。国际学院学生980人。

学科专业

学校现设有15个学院、1个部、1个研究设计院，另有1个独立学院。有工学、理学、管理学、经济学、文学、法学、艺术学和医学8个学科门类。学校现有59个本科专业，5个国家级特色专业，4个教育部”卓越工程师教育培养计划”试点专业，9个湖北省品牌专业;2门国家级精品资源共享课程，1门国家级双语教学示范课程，2门国家级精品课程，26门省级精品课程;2个国家级教学团队，1个国家级人才培养模式创新实验区，1个国家级实验教学示范中心，6个省级实验教学示范中心;2个博士学位授权一级学科，13个硕士学位授权一级学科，58个硕士学位授权二级学科，17个湖北省”楚天学者计划”特聘教授岗位设置学科，1个省级优势学科，5个省级特色学科，4个省级重点(培育)学科;工商管理硕士(MBA)、艺术、翻译和工程硕士4个专业学位门类，其中工程硕士学位有11个授权领域。

师资队伍

Wuhan Engineering University was founded in June 1972, formerly known as Hubei Institute of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum, belonging to Hubei Province. In March 1980, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it changed its name to Wuhan Institute of Chemical Technology, which was formerly in charge of the Ministry of Chemical Industry. In July 1998, with the adjustment of the management system of colleges and universities, the school transferred to Hubei Province for management, implementing the joint construction of the central and local governments, mainly in Hubei Province. In the same year, the school passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education and obtained the right to grant a master’s degree. In February 2006, with the consent of the Ministry of Education and the approval of the people’s Government of Hubei Province, it officially changed its name to Wuhan Engineering University. In 2006, we passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of our university by the Ministry of Education with excellent results. In 2012, the school was selected into the basic capacity-building project of colleges and universities in the central and western regions (small 211 project). In 2013, the school was designated as a doctoral degree awarding unit by the academic degrees Committee of the State Council.

After more than 40 years of construction, the school has developed from a single engineering university to a teaching and research university with good school-running conditions, strong strength, high level and distinctive characteristics.

Hierarchical scale

The school has undergraduate education, junior college education, international education and postgraduate education, with the right to grant bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. The school enrolls students from 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government. At present, there are 21933 full-time students, including 1728 graduate students, 19215 ordinary undergraduates, 976 general junior college students and 14 foreign students. There are 980 students from the International College.

The school now has 15 colleges, 1 department, 1 research and design institute and 1 independent college. There are 8 disciplines: engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law, art and medicine. The school now has 59 undergraduate majors, 5 national characteristic majors, 4 pilot majors of “excellent engineer Education Program” of the Ministry of Education, 9 brand majors of Hubei Province, 2 national high-quality resource sharing courses, 1 national bilingual teaching demonstration course, 2 national high-quality courses and 26 provincial high-quality courses. 2 national teaching teams, 1 national talent training mode innovation experimental area, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 6 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers There are 2 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 13 first-level disciplines authorized for master’s degrees, 58 second-level disciplines authorized for master’s degrees, 17 specially appointed professors under the Chutian Scholars Program in Hubei Province, 1 provincial advantage discipline, 5 provincial characteristic disciplines and 4 provincial key (nurturing) disciplines. There are four professional degrees: master of Business Administration (MBA), Art, Translation and Engineering, of which the Master of Engineering degree has 11 authorized areas.

Teaching staff

The school now has 1851 in-service staff, including 1186 full-time teaching and research personnel, including 225 teachers with senior professional titles and 393 deputy senior professional titles. The number of teachers with senior professional titles accounts for 52.1% of the total number of teachers. Teachers with master’s degrees and doctoral degrees accounted for 87.2% and 34.2% of the total teachers, respectively. Among the in-service teachers, there are 1 selected in the National Thousand talents Plan, 2 national candidates in the New Century talents Project, 1 winner of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, 1 young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions from the country, 1 selected in the provincial high-end talent leading plan, 13 selected in the New Century Talent support Program of the Ministry of Education, and 6 members of the Professional Teaching steering Committee of the Ministry of Education.
