郑州车站,始建于1904年,是中国铁路建设初期芦(沟桥)——汉(口)铁路中段的业务站,时称郑县站。1914年陇海铁路开(封)——洛(阳)线正式投入运营,奠定了路网中心的基础。
新中国成立后,为适应社会主义建设的需要,1953年郑州站改扩建工程动工,1956年投入使用,并先后分离出货运站、编组站和以运输旅客为主的客运站。为适应经济发展的需要,1988年郑州站再次进行改扩建工程。1999年12月28日随着主站楼的投入使用,长达12年的改扩建工程落下帷幕。2010年1月,无站台柱风雨棚建成并投入使用,一座崭新、雄伟的现代化客运站,呈现在世人面前。

郑州车站地处京广线、陇海线两大铁路干线交汇处,扼守中原腹地,位居河南省郑州市的中心,连接京广、陇海两大铁路干线,拥有13条客车到发线,日接送旅客列车330多列,是一个有着百年历史的特等铁路客运站和全国最大的铁路客运中转站之一,素有中国铁路客运的“心脏”之称。

2005年“6.21”生产力布局调整后,原郑州车务段管辖的11个中间站划归郑州车站管理。目前,郑州车站共管辖13个车站,其中一个特等站(郑州客站);两个一等站(许昌站、许昌东站);一个二等站(新郑站);五个三等站(长葛、临颍、小李庄、薛店、郑州南站);四个四等站(谢庄、苏桥、官亭、小商桥站),郑州客站站管其他各站技术性质均为中间站,其中,许昌、长葛、临颍站为客货运兼办营业站,新郑、小李庄、薛店、郑州南站为货运营业站,许昌东站为高铁客运站。

2010年12月28日,铁道部、河南省重点工程建设项目——郑州火车站西站房正式投入使用。郑州火车站西站房位于中原路与京广路交叉口,主体工程包括新建第七、八高架候车室,西站房主站楼等相关场所的改造项目。其中,西站房售票大厅采用高达21米的轻钢结构玻璃屋面构建。

Zhengzhou Station, founded in 1904, is the business station of the middle section of Lu (Gouqiao)-Han (Kou) Railway in the early stage of China’s railway construction, which is then called Zhengxian Station. In 1914, the Longhai Railway Kaifeng-Luo (Yang) Line was officially put into operation, which laid the foundation for the road network center.

After the founding of New China, in order to meet the needs of socialist construction, the reconstruction and expansion project of Zhengzhou Station began in 1953 and put into use in 1956, and successively separated the freight station, marshalling station and passenger station which mainly transported passengers. In order to meet the needs of economic development, the reconstruction and expansion project of Zhengzhou Station was carried out again in 1988. With the commissioning of the main station building on December 28, 1999, the 12-year reconstruction and expansion project came to an end. In January 2010, the non-station pillar wind and rain shed was completed and put into use, and a new and magnificent modern passenger station was presented to the world.

Zhengzhou Station is located at the confluence of the two major railway lines of the Beijing-Guangzhou Line and the Longhai Line, holds the hinterland of the Central Plains and is located in the center of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, connecting the two major railway lines of Beijing, Guangzhou and Longhai, with 13 passenger train arrival-departure lines and more than 330 passenger trains per day. it is a special railway passenger station with a century history and one of the largest railway passenger transit stations in the country. It is known as the “heart” of Chinese railway passenger transport.

After the adjustment of the “6.21” productivity layout in 2005, the 11 intermediate stations under the jurisdiction of the former Zhengzhou train depot were placed under the management of Zhengzhou station. At present, Zhengzhou Station has jurisdiction over 13 stations, including one special-class station (Zhengzhou passenger Station), two first-class stations (Xuchang Station and Xuchang East Station), one second-class station (Xinzheng Station), and five third-class stations (Changge, Linying, Xiaolizhuang, Xuedian and Zhengzhou South Station). There are four fourth-class stations (Xiezhuang, Suqiao, Guanting and Xiaoshangqiao stations). The technical nature of Zhengzhou passenger Station is an intermediate station, among which Xuchang, Changge and Linying stations are both passenger and freight stations. Xinzheng, Xiaolizhuang, Xuedian and Zhengzhou South Station are freight stations, and Xuchang East Station is a high-speed rail passenger station.

On December 28, 2010, Zhengzhou Railway Station West Station, a key construction project of the Ministry of Railways and Henan Province, was officially put into use. The west station room of Zhengzhou Railway Station is located at the intersection of Zhongyuan Road and Jingguang Road. The main project includes the renovation projects of the new seventh and eighth elevated waiting rooms, the main station building of the west railway station and other related places. Among them, the ticket hall of the west station room is constructed with a light steel structure glass roof as high as 21 meters.
