世界知识产权组织

　　世界知识产权组织(简称WIPO)是一个致力于促进使用和保护人类智力作品的国际组织。
总部设在瑞士日内瓦的世界知识产权组织，是联合国组织系统中的16个专门机构之一。

　　世界知识产权组织(简称WIPO)管理着涉及知识产权保护各个方面的24项(16部关于工业产权，7部关于版权，加上建立世界知识产权组织公约)国际条约。直到2007年6月15日为止，成员国有184个国家。

　　世界知识产权组织主要职能是负责通过国家间的合作促进对全世界知识产权的保护，管理建立在多边条约基础上的关于专利、商标和版权方面的23个联盟的行政工作，并办理知识产权法律与行政事宜。

　　世界知识产权组织的很大一部分财力是用于同发展中国家进行开发合作，促进发达国家向发展中国家转让技术，推动发展中国家的发明创造和文艺创作活动，以利于其科技、文化和经济的发展。

The World intellectual property Organization (WIPO) manages 24 international treaties covering all aspects of intellectual property protection (16 on industrial property rights, 7 on copyright, plus conventions establishing the World intellectual property Organization). As of 15 June 2007, there were 184 member States.

The main functions of WIPO are responsible for promoting the protection of intellectual property rights around the world through cooperation among States, managing the administration of 23 alliances on patents, trademarks and copyrights based on multilateral treaties, and dealing with intellectual property legal and administrative matters.

A large part of the financial resources of the World intellectual property Organization is spent on development cooperation with developing countries, promoting the transfer of technology from developed countries to developing countries, and promoting invention-creation and literary and artistic creation activities in developing countries, in order to facilitate its scientific and technological, cultural and economic development.
