Yliopisto) is a public university in Finland, founded in 1925. The University of Tampere has six colleges, each with different departments. The six colleges are: school of Economics and Administration, School of Education, School of Humanities, School of Information Science, School of Medicine and School of Social Sciences.

Tampere University offers higher education at undergraduate, master and doctoral levels. Its main language of instruction is Finnish, but in order to attract international students, the university also offers a range of English majors. Tampere University offers undergraduate majors in social sciences, philosophy, history, health science, economics, management science, international politics, psychology, sociology, Nordic languages, general literature, business, tax law, accounting, marketing, etc., graduate majors include health science, safety management, European and Russian studies, software development, bioinformatics, welfare services, youth studies, and so on.
