College (Telford College in Edinburgh), founded in 1968, is a public college sponsored by the British government and one of the largest national colleges in Scotland, with financial subsidies from the government. The school maintains good academic standards and meets the standards of the Scottish quality Management system SQMS and the Scottish Accreditation Council SQA. All its courses are recognized by the British Council (BC).

The college has a special agency to arrange internship opportunities for students attending the British Diploma of higher Education (HND) programme and to provide free employment counseling for all students. On average, 92% of students are assigned paid internships or jobs during their stay at school. International students who have successfully completed the UK Diploma in higher Education (HND) programme will be granted a two-year UK work visa.
