Zooniverse

　　星系动物园科学联盟(Zooniverse)是英国的一个天文学研究机构，该项目被称为“天文学研究中一次规模最大的普查活动”，志愿者的任务就是通过网上的图片对100万最明亮的“疑似”星系进行识别，分辨出图中究竟是漩涡星系还是椭圆星系。

　　目前该项目创办了数十个项目，尤其是以行星猎人(Planet
Hunters)计划最为知名，通过这一工具，天文学家足不出户就可以寻找下一个类似地球的行星。庞大的观测数据库为天文学的未来带来了无限的可能。哈勃太空望远镜留下了几十年的天文数据，而且绝大多数还没经过研究。其中包括了许多遥远星云、星系或一闪而过的天文现象的图像。数据天文学不只是为了寻找彗星、小行星，它可以帮助研究者们寻找遥远的、适合生命生存的行星，或是寻找一些宇宙中最远古星体的线索。

The Galaxy Zoo Science Alliance (Zooniverse) is a British astronomical research institute. The project is called “one of the largest censuses in astronomical research”. The task of volunteers is to identify 1 million of the brightest “suspected” galaxies from online images to identify whether they are spiral galaxies or elliptical galaxies.

At present, the project has launched dozens of projects, especially planet hunter (Planet).

Hunters) is best known as a tool that allows astronomers to find the next Earth-like planet without leaving home. The huge observation database brings infinite possibilities for the future of astronomy. The Hubble Space Telescope has left decades of astronomical data, most of which have not yet been studied. These include images of many distant nebulae, galaxies or fleeting astronomical phenomena. Data astronomy is not just about looking for comets and asteroids, it can help researchers find distant planets suitable for life, or find clues to some of the most ancient stars in the universe.

The project is a civic science alliance hosted by seven institutions in the UK and the United States, in partnership with the Adler Planetarium, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Minnesota, the National Maritime Museum, the University of Nottingham, the University of Oxford and Vizzuality.
