　　新西兰国家博物馆将最先进的科技与传统的故事讲述方式相结合，设有六层展厅，游客可以看到毛利和太平洋岛国的文化珍宝、新西兰奇特的自然生态、最重要的艺术品及其独特的历史。

馆里的主要藏品有：毛利人使用的器具、工具、工艺品及其他表现其风土民情的物品，新西兰的早期欧洲探险家介绍，早期欧洲移民的生活情景，新西兰的地质状况和珍禽异兽。在毛利人大厅内，展出有毛利人建筑木雕、巨型战斗独木船、饰品，古代毛利人的农具、食品、服装及饰有花纹的用毛利人祖先头颅制成的木新西兰原野风光乃伊。 在博物馆的珍藏中有关于毛利人的众多藏品，包括该馆自己的毛利会堂（聚会所）、专为儿童设计的可动手触摸的“探索中心”、博物学和环境展、一个仿建的欧洲殖民地以及当代艺术和文化。

The National Museum of New Zealand combines state-of-the-art technology with traditional storytelling with six-story showrooms where visitors can see the cultural treasures of Maori and Pacific island countries, New Zealand’s peculiar natural ecology, the most important works of art and its unique history.

The main collections in the nbsp; & nbsp; Museum are: instruments, tools, handicrafts and other objects used by the Maori people, introductions by early European explorers in New Zealand, life scenes of early European immigrants, geological conditions and rare birds and animals in New Zealand. In the Maori hall, there are Maori architectural wood carvings, giant combat canoes, ornaments, ancient Maori farm tools, food, clothing and decorated wood made from the heads of Maori ancestors, New Zealand wilderness scenery. Among the museum’s collections are numerous Maori collections, including the museum’s own Maori auditorium (meeting house), a hands-on “Discovery Centre” designed for children, natural history and environmental exhibitions, an imitation European colony, and contemporary art and culture.
