Queen Sophia Art Centre (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina

Sofa í a) is a national 20th century art museum in Madrid, Spain, named after Queen Sophia of Spain. It was officially opened on September 10, 1992. It is one of the three major art museums in Madrid, and the expansion is presided over by the famous French architect Jean Nouville.

The Art Center mainly collects modern paintings, sculptures, prints, sketches and other works, focusing on the context and development of Spain’s own art style under the European art trend, basically covering a series of changes in the Spanish modern art style from the end of the 19th century to the 20th century, including surrealism, abstractionism, to the avant-garde after the second World War.

In recent years, the Museum of Queen Sophia National Arts Center has been increasing its temporary exhibitions, audio-visual and public education activities to better serve the public.
