　　龙安寺内有矿石寺院、石庭、枯山水庭院、鸳鸯池等著名景点，其中最著名的是石庭。整个石庭全部由圆形和椭圆形的小石子铺成，不见一点泥土，庭园内摆有十五块岩石，从东侧以5・2・3・2・3配置，无论游客从任何方向看，15块岩石中至少有一块被其他石头遮住而只能看到13或14块。这种巧妙的配置被称为渡虎之子，是绝妙的禅之美的空间。此外，龙安寺山门边的镜容池中种植着很多睡莲，从初夏一直盛开到仲夏，美不胜收。龙安寺是古京都最著名的宗教文化旅游胜地之一，1975年英国女王伊丽莎白二世访问日本时，曾表示希望能参观龙安寺内的庭园，参观后英女王对庭园赞不绝口，也让龙安寺庭园在世界范围内名声大噪。
