The Getty Center, which covers all medieval to contemporary European and American history, has four galleries with collections classified by age and the nationality of the creator. The North District Exhibition Hall mainly displays paintings and medieval and Renaissance sculptures and decorative arts dating back to 1600 AD; the Eastern District Exhibition Hall mainly displays 17th century baroque art and some Italian decorative art; the Southern District Exhibition Hall mainly displays 18th century paintings and most of the museum’s European Art Deco collections. The West side Exhibition Hall mainly displays sculptures and Italian decorative arts from the 18th to 20th centuries, as well as paintings from the 19th century.
