　　在界面上，SmartQQ取消了以往WebQQ上的一堆臃肿应用，取而代之的是两个非常简洁的界面:左侧是联系人列表，右侧是会话框。整个窗体与手机、平板QQ相差无几，分为“好友”、“群”、“讨论组”简单三栏。

　　点击好友、群头像后，在右侧会弹出一个单独的聊天窗口，由于是透明界面的缘故，给人的整体感觉比较舒服。同时，在点击聊天窗口上方的“选项”键，就能够直接查看群成员、聊天记录等信息，基本能够满足简单的聊天需要。

　　如果想要同QQ客户端一样，让SmartQQ也能够在后台运行并提示消息的话，可以在Chrome、Firefox等浏览器中安装插件，这样在将网页最小化后，SmartQQ就能自动在桌面右下端弹出新消息提醒了。值得一提的是，SmartQQ还有个隐藏功能，点击左侧界面下方的两个方向箭头后，就能够随机更换聊天背景，这也算是个聊胜于无的创新。

　　在WebQQ上，用户可以同时聊天、刷微博、发邮件，甚至能够运行斗地主、金山快盘等游戏和办公软件，腾讯希望可以将这种桌面化操作方式的Web平台，直接变为用户的云桌面。这条朝WebOS发展的模式显得野心十足，但就在新版本的SmartQQ中，却全部阉割掉了腾讯此前全部的云端整合应用，回归成原始的聊天工具。

On webQQ, users can chat, browse Weibo, send e-mails, and even run games and office software such as fighting landlords and Kingsoft. Tencent hopes to turn this desktop-based Web platform into users’ cloud desktops. This model of moving towards WebOS is ambitious, but in the new version of SmartQQ, it castrates all Tencent’s previous cloud integration applications and returns to the original chat tool.
