“FB”成为历史 脸书将于6月9日正式变身Meta

Facebook母公司Meta周二宣布，将于6月9日股市开盘前将股票代码更改为“META”，取代当前使用的“FB”。Meta表示，公司股东无需就股票代码变更采取任何行动。自2012年启动首次公开招股(IPO)以来，Facebook一直使用“FB”这一股票代码。

去年10月，Facebook更名为Meta，称这是向社交媒体以外领域扩张雄心的一部分。Meta CEO马克·扎克伯格(Mark Zuckerberg )对构建元宇宙特别感兴趣。元宇宙是一个科幻术语，指的是在虚拟世界中工作和玩游戏。

当时，Meta表示将从12月1日起将股票代码改为“MVRS”。但是到了11月下旬，Meta宣布将这一调整推迟到2022年第一季度。此后，投资公司Roundhill Investments宣布将放弃在其Roundhill Ball Metaverse ETF中使用“META”代码，显然是让给了Meta。

In October, Facebook changed its name to Meta as part of its ambition to expand beyond social media. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg (Mark Zuckerberg) is particularly interested in building meta-universes. Meta-universe is a science fiction term that refers to working and playing games in a virtual world.

At the time, Meta said it would change its ticker to “MVRS” from December 1st. But in late November, Meta announced that it would postpone the adjustment until the first quarter of 2022. Since then, Roundhill Investments, an investment firm, announced that it would abandon the use of “META” code in its Roundhill Ball Metaverse ETF, apparently ceding it to Meta.
