此次数字人民币App更新版本为iOS1.0.12、安卓1.0.12.20，更新页面介绍称：“数字人民币支付服务升级啦！钱包添加银行卡，随用随充更便捷。”
根据App介绍，“随用随充”功能是指数字人民币钱包在已关联银行卡的情况下，付款时若余额不足（包括在商户使用子钱包付款），将自动从已关联银行卡充钱至钱包并完成支付，充钱金额为当笔支付需补足部分；若关联多张银行卡，将按照银行卡顺序尝试充钱。用户若不想使用该功能，可在“钱包管理”—“银行卡管理”中关闭“银行卡扣款开关”。
App相关说明还给出了具体示例：如购买100元的商品，钱包余额中只有90元，钱包已关联银行卡，系统将自动从银行卡扣出10元充钱到钱包中，并完成支付。如关联了多张银行卡，第1张银行卡充钱失败的，系统将继续尝试从第2张银行卡向钱包充钱，直到充钱成功或所有银行卡均失败。
澎湃新闻记者注意到，在钱包添加完银行卡后，会显示有关新功能银行卡扣款说明信息，例如支付失败原路退回、银行卡扣款顺序可调整等。具体包括：关联多张银行卡的，将按照银行卡顺序尝试充钱；充钱后又支付失败的，从银行卡扣出的资金将返回银行卡；如需要调整银行卡扣款顺序，可前往“我的”-“钱包管理”-“选择钱包”-“银行卡管理”中设置。

App related instructions also give specific examples: for example, if you buy goods worth 100 yuan, there is only 90 yuan in the balance of the wallet, and the wallet has been associated with a bank card, the system will automatically deduct 10 yuan from the bank card to recharge the wallet and complete the payment. If multiple bank cards are associated and the first bank card fails to recharge, the system will continue to attempt to recharge the wallet from the second bank card until the charging is successful or all bank cards fail.
