S6 Edge Stops Charging Not Switching On

Problem:

Hey! I bought the phone in 2015 and its been working perfectly fine. Last year December, that was last month I got my battery changed from a random repair centre around my place since my phone battery keep draining pretty quick. Ever since I got my battery changed, my phones been acting up. Couple of features stopped working like the light sensor which puts off the screen when I’m on call, the auto rotate not working, etc. but otherwise the phone is fine. Today I left my phone on my table for about an hour, I had 63% battery, I came back and found my phone switched off. I was surprised, I put it for charge immediately. It started charging at the percentage I left it at but when I try to switch it on, there’s no response. It stops charging for a second and goes back to charging.

Solution:
The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery of your phone has sufficient charge. To do this you need to follow the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Charge the phone using its wall charger for at least 20 minutes.
  • In case the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
  • If the phone does not turn on then try starting it in recovery mode. From here you should do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S6 Edge Can’t Send MMS No Mobile Data

Problem:

Ever since returning from a trip to Canada my Samsung Galaxy S6 edge has not been able to send a MMS and when there is no WiFi I cant use anything that requires data

Solution:
It’s very likely that this issue is caused by incorrect APN settings in your phone. Get the correct APN settings that your carrier is using then configure the phone correctly with thee settings.

For Android Marshmallow

  • From any Home screen, tap the Apps tray.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Mobile networks.
  • Tap Access Point Names.
  • If an APN is available tap on this then edit it. If no APN is available then tap on new APN then enter the correct settings.
  • Save the settings

For Android Nougat

  • From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  • Tap Settings > Connections.
  • Tap Mobile networks.
  • Tap Access Point Names.
  • If an APN is available tap on this then edit it. If no APN is available then tap on new APN then enter the correct settings.
  • Save the settings

S6 Edge Does Not Start

Problem:

Hello good morning, I have a Galaxy S6 Edge and does not start the operating system, I use Odin to install the Firmware, but not start, not if the firmware, but I could not fix it. I hope you can help me

Solution:
Before doing any troubleshooting make sure that the phone has sufficient battery life (must be more than 50%). If the battery life is low then I suggest charging your phone first. Once the battery has sufficient charge you will need to download a fresh version of the latest firmware file of your phone. I recommend getting this file from the Sammobile website. Once the firmware has been downloaded you need to flash it again to your phone.

In case the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. I recommend that you bring this phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Refuses To Power On

Problem:

My screen fell and the screen cracked a few days ago and then it fell into a pool 2 days later. It worked well up until last night when i left it charging. When i got up this morning, unplugged it from the charging port- it was dead and refused to power on

Solution:
Since your phone fell into a pool you will need to place the device in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture inside the phone which could be causing this problem. As soon as this is done charge the phone first for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. Make sure that you see the charging indicator. If no charging indicator is present then do the following.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.

Turn on the phone by pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Screen Has Red Vertical Line

Problem:

There is a red vertical line running down the screen; also, when the phone powers on, the light goes very dim so that it is impossible to see any of the keys or functions or apps

Solution:
The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to do a factory reset from the recovery mode. If you are able to backup your phone data beforehand then I suggest that you do it. In case the issue persist after the reset then this is most likely a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty display assembly. You will need to have this checked at a service center if this is the case.

S6 Edge Screen Has Green Color

Problem:

Hello, for 3-4 months I’ve experienced some really weird troubles: it happens when i open the phone it splits in half and the upper half again splits in half. The whole screen have a pinky-green filter. The lower half is like a broken cable tv and the upper 2 halfs are the same copy of the phone image. If i would unlock it would remain the same, but if i turn down and then reopened it fixed. You would know if this is some software problem or it is hardware?

Solution:
The best troubleshooting that you need to do in this case is to do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If after the reset the problem still occurs then this is most likely a hardware issue already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Only Turns On When Plugged To Charger

Problem:

My galaxy s6 edge will not stay turned on. It’s only turns on when plugged in to a charger (and usually says it’s 95% charged) and will turn on but will not stay turned on at all.

Solution:
This is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a faulty battery or power IC. The best way to proceed in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
