Sometimes there are conditions one trend is getting in vogue, while other is out of the craze like a smoke, so it is imperative to know what trends are going on in the Graphical design field. As a designer, one should be smart enough to know the modifications betiding in their industry. To make all designers updated with latest trends in Graphic Designing we have written this article.
1. Fantastic Illustrations:
Many times it said that the stock we have is now old, but there is something which is lacking and it is the custom images or illustrations of it. The distinctive and powerful images are part of the design-centric approach, adding a more personal touch to your business. To make designs different from competitors websites designers put extra efforts through stock photography and graphics.
2. Attractive Typography
These days one of the significant ways for your brand identity is typography as it is the centre of attraction in your design. The typography can be bold and dramatic, according to 2016 trends and should convey the right message to the customers. The size, shape, texture and colour of the text must be beautifully stacked which make your website or app look disparate and winsome. Sometimes loud and lively typography look appealing for the visitors.
3. Making archaic trendy:
Trends are changing while some trends are coming up back in fashion. The vintage retro styles of 80’s and 90’s have nostalgia in its designs. These designs have influenced the market of recent times and seem to be cool. According to 2016 latest fashion is the retro modern styles which can be used on all websites and graphics.
4. Designing of Material:
As per google guidelines for Material designing, it is important to have a topography of large-scale, deliberate colour choices, intentional white spacing, bold look and edge to edge imaginary. Tiles, Card layouts, light and shadow effects in designs are very prominent among designers.
5. Quick-witted Menus:
The traditional menus are replaced by Hamburger Menu which gives more instinctive navigation. The concept is to give a more user-specific navigation as the hidden menus will be seen nowhere. This is a very hot topic for designers and webmasters and as per trends, you should follow it.
6. Modular Designs:
Most of us don’t like reading long contents, but the content is very important for a website so there must be some trick to engage the user. These days the content is kept in small grid blocks or self-contained modules/cards which grab the attention of readers. The menus are absolutely aligned and generate a bent in the early process of breaking long paragraphs into shorter ones.
7. Responsive Designs:
With the emerging use of various devices, it has become the prime requirement to have responsive web design. It is necessary that your website should fit the screen of the mobile so that google don’t crush your website. A responsive site should access in all windows and devices. Some of the designers hide desktop function for mobile device users, which are no more an option now. Responsive design includes all logos, banners and all other visual content available on the website.
8. Designs Influenced by Apps:
The designers must be inspired by applications as the mobile apps are faster in browsing as compared to websites. In applications, there are zero distractions with a good speed. If websites are more designed like apps, i.e. add exclusivity, tailored user experience and remove unessential information from it then websites will be catchier. A more clean and easy design will gather maximum users and removes unwanted elements.
9. Parallax and Infinite Scrolling:
Nowadays parallax and Infinite scrolling are very famous and one of the reason is it creates interest among users. The static logos are no more in fashion, in fact, these require GIF images, emoji, and many other animations through CSS and JS.
In parallax scrolling, the two disparate contents of foreground and backgrounds move at different speeds which generate illusion. It has some disadvantages too, the heavy graphics and JS make websites heavier and it will take time to load the website. Also, the text is embedded in the images so for an SEO perspective, this is not a good option.
Infinite scrolling or Modular scrolling denotes the website which scrolls down its own without affecting other modules. It is a faster mode, then clicking on individual pages and have no interruption of loading other pages. Websites like Pinterest, Facebook etc. having an amazing number of users, it is seen commonly.
10. Ocular Storytelling:
It is always said that visual effects create more impact than any text can do. It is said that worldwide around 100 million people watch minimum one video per day. There is a high trend of annexing visuals to the design of the website and make the user feel website alive.
So graphic design plays a vital role in user experience because it has the power to control of user’s mind like what user will see and what designer wants user to think. Graphical trends are about technicality and customers must have an ultimate experience.
