When we launched Pixate over two years ago, our mission was to give designers the much-needed ability to create and experiment with complex animated interfaces. Since then, we’ve been fortunate enough to see Pixate improve the prototyping process for a wide range of teams, bringing life to creative ideas and going beyond what we thought was possible. We joined Google just over a year ago to continue our mission, and to pursue a broader vision of changing the way products were designed and built.
While a lot of the ideas we’ve been developing could work inside the Pixate framework, we believe we can have a larger impact if we move beyond its scope. To allow us to focus on our broader vision, we will be to saying goodbye to Pixate.
However, this isn’t the last you’ll hear from us. Our team has been focusing on exciting new projects to continue the work we started with Pixate, which we’ll be announcing in the near future. Follow @googledesignand sign up for the Google Design newsletterto stay in the loop. Or, participate in research studieswe’re conducting for our projects and get a chance to get an early preview.
