BBK brand OPPO is closing in on 100 million smartphone unit shipmentsthis year, though we won’t know if it’s close to whatHuawei’s expecting. Nonetheless, this race is only a horse length’s difference at this point, so it’ll be interesting to see if the incumbent number two in Androidcan be toppled by its domestic counterpart next year. OPPO, though, is keeping up the pressure with more orders to MediaTek, Qualcomm, Japan Display and another display supplier, Truly Opto-Electronics. Wireless components maker Speed Wireless has also seen increase business flow.
